    It was good.

    The building seemed old, but it was good enough to be acceptable. The meals were buffet-style with a wide variety, and I ended up overeating because I wanted to try everything, but everything was delicious. My elderly mother ate an astonishing amount, and we felt thoughtful attention from check-in to check-out. One issue was that we checked in after dark, and the entrance was a bit hard to find, which caused some confusion. There were narrow turns before reaching the entrance, and I was worried if large vehicles could manage, but there might have been another route. I would have appreciated clearer signage.

    Not close to the sea and not the latest, but a top-class Hotel

    Both the interior and the Room were clean, and the staff's service was excellent, making it feel like the best Hotel. The bath, which is one of the selling points, is superb! Since it is located on a hill, the view from both the bath and the Room is excellent. The decorations and lighting in the Hotel and garden are also enjoyable. If your trip is not for swimming, this Hotel is one of the best options around Shirahama. With the use of a coupon, it was affordable, and perhaps because it was a weekday in the off-season, we were even upgraded, allowing us to enjoy an unparalleled stay.

    The meals were very delicious.

    The Facility is a bit old, but the Room was spacious and clean, which was nice. Above all, both dinner and breakfast were buffets, and all the dishes were delicious and carefully prepared, so I ended up eating too much. I am very satisfied, including the Onsen.

    First Time at Koga no I

    I visited on a day when I could stay reasonably for the meals and onsen. The onsen had a good quality of water and was wonderfully soothing, but like other reviewers, I felt the open-air bath was a bit too deep. For dinner, the grilled turban shell and the dessert muskmelon were delicious. Breakfast was great with freshly made rice balls, rolled omelet, grilled fish, and French toast, and the simple flavors of whitebait and cod roe were also subtly delicious. The nighttime illumination had a playful touch and was enjoyable.

    The view is excellent.

    We were healed by the warm smiles of the staff and were well taken care of. The view from the 10th floor was excellent, and the Room was clean and comfortable. The response was very polite when we inquired about the key. The open-air bath was also excellent. The meals were buffet-style, with so many options like freshly fried tempura and steak that it was hard to choose. However, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't as much sashimi as expected, so I couldn't make a seafood bowl, which is why I gave it four stars.

    I enjoyed it to the fullest.

    It was only one night, but we enjoyed the indoor pool on both days. The bath was also very nice. The room was spacious and clean. Every dish at dinner was delicious, and the porcini pasta was the best. My child also said they want to go again! We definitely want to stay again. Thank you very much.

    It exceeded expectations.

    I felt the staff's efficiency from the check-in process. It was helpful that they carried our luggage to the Room. The Room was spacious and had a very good view. The dinner buffet was also very delicious, with grilled fish in Saikyo style, pasta, pizza, steak, and sushi from the open kitchen. I think the restaurant staff were also very attentive. It was a special Plan with a 4 PM check-in, but we enjoyed it enough. We will use it again.

    I chose this place because it ranked high in the satisfaction rankings on a travel site. As per the rankings, the meals, room, price, and service were all satisfactory. Also, the illumination seen from the balcony window at night was very beautiful. However, it was a bit disappointing that at check-in, we had to decide the breakfast start time in 15-minute increments. It felt somewhat rushed, and I couldn't relax. I think the purpose is to avoid congestion, but I wished it could be in 30-minute increments at least.

    A Rewarding Trip to Shirahama

    I visited a property called Koganoi in Shirahama with my late mother over 30 years ago. I booked this place because it feels like I can trace back nostalgic memories. This time, it's a reward trip for surviving the summer heat. The hot spring in Shirahama is colorless, transparent, and odorless, but it feels slightly slippery and gently envelops the body. I think I was able to soak in it slowly even though it was hot because the indoor bath has a semi-open-air structure. It's a very relaxing space with a wonderful bath. The dinner at Japanese restaurant Kamishima reminded me of the Japanese autumn I had almost forgotten. The menu, using autumn ingredients like matsutake mushrooms, grouper, and chestnuts, was all carefully prepared and delicious, making me happy. Moreover, the service was excellent. The timing was well-coordinated, with moderately enjoyable conversations, making it a good dining experience. The story of "Mikan Chicken," raised with mandarin peel added to the feed, was interesting as it also informed me about sustainable efforts. It turned out to be an overly rewarding trip. Thank you very much.

    The breakfast and dinner buffet was wonderful. The tempura and rice balls at the live corner were very delicious. The night pool & jacuzzi were in a private state, allowing for a relaxing and luxurious time. It was unfortunate that the equipment like the hairdryer in the Room was old, but the view from the Room was also great, and the staff's response was very kind. I would like to use it again.

    First Stay in Shirahama

    I wanted to go to Adventureland, so I looked for Stays. As per the Review, there was an indoor pool open until 9 PM, an open-air bath, and the buffet was delicious and satisfying. Highly recommended for families with children! We had a fun trip.

    I stayed for the first time. The staff always greeted me with a smile and were very accommodating, which made me feel good. The room was spacious, and the windows were sparkling clean, allowing me to enjoy the beautiful view. The bath had a separate washing area and tub, allowing for a relaxing soak, and it was frequently cleaned, making it comfortable. The meals were all delicious, and it was great to have plenty of freshly made dishes from the open kitchen. I ended up eating too much for both dinner and breakfast. I was full and able to relax.     Bubble Heritage

    Stayed with my wife in a twin room. I was surprised that there was only one room key. The air conditioning could only be adjusted to High, Middle, or Low from the bedside panel, which was surprising! However, we were satisfied with the onsen and meals.

    The ultimate relaxation

    This is my second visit. The open-air bath is wonderful. Both the Room and the Facility are clean and comfortable. The food is delicious, and since it's on a time schedule, it never gets crowded. Alcohol is charged separately.

    The service provided by the front desk and restaurant staff, as well as the food, was excellent. One of the elevators was out of order, and there was a wait for the one that was operational. It took time to move up to the 4th floor as the stairs were also unusable. The loud noise when closing the bathroom door in the room was inconvenient, especially when going to the bathroom at night. The Facility may be old.

    Thank you for taking care of us again this month, following last month. The staff at the front desk and dining area were all kind, which was appreciated as we were with our young grandchild. I commented on the cleaning in my feedback from last month's stay, and it was improved. The room was properly cleaned, and we could use it comfortably. We were also satisfied with the bath and meals.     It's been about half a year, I think.

    I used it for the first time in a while. It was a Plan with breakfast only, but I was able to relax. I ate a full breakfast buffet from Western to Japanese cuisine. I enjoyed delicious dishes such as omelets, rolled omelets, simmered dishes, dried horse mackerel, grilled salmon, rice balls, and desserts. Since I ate a lot in the morning, I was able to get through lunch without eating much. I also enjoyed the pool. I was able to buy souvenirs cheaply by following on Instagram. I will use it again. I think the hot days will continue. Please take care of your health.

    Elevator out of order

    This is my second stay following 2022. I had a pleasant experience last time, and this time was no different. However, one of the two elevators was out of order, causing significant congestion. I hope it will be repaired soon. I also noticed another elevator just before checking out, so guidance to that one would have been appreciated.

    Facility Equipment

    Coincidentally, there was a leak the day before our stay, and the main elevator was unusable, causing congestion and inconvenience. Our room was on the third floor where the leak occurred, so the hallway had a bad odor and passing through it each time was stressful. Although we were looking forward to it and were very disappointed, the outdoor illuminations and Halloween decorations were wonderful.

    The best Hotel that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

    We joined the annual three-generation summer vacation trip. Even before our arrival, they responded politely to inquiries about baby equipment rentals and changes in the number of people. On the day of our arrival, they kindly accommodated our sudden request to add more people to the dinner plan, which was very helpful. The buffet was visually appealing and delicious, and the facilities such as the pool, Onsen towel replenishment, and illuminations were excellent, providing enjoyment for both children and adults.

    Accommodation for Three Generations

    Upon arriving at the accommodation and being guided to the room, my younger daughter was surprised by a musty smell as we stepped out of the elevator into the hallway. Indeed, there was a slight musty odor. Inside the room, signs of aging were noticeable, but the bathroom was excellent with quick water filling in the bathtub and a well-functioning shower. Despite staying with my spouse, two daughters, and my eldest daughter's child, we did not feel that the room was cramped. However, usability of the sink received some negative feedback. We used both the indoor pool and garden pool. Since it was a Monday stay, it wasn’t crowded at all. However, given their size, I imagine they might get slightly crowded during peak seasons. The bath seemed to have been beautifully renovated; both outdoor baths and indoor baths offered great views and were very enjoyable. Dinner was buffet-style with live kitchen stations serving delicious shrimp tempura among other dishes—there were four live kitchen stations in total! The variety of food options was impressive. Breakfast followed a similar buffet style with plenty of options available from early morning. High chairs for children and movable tables were provided as well—showing thoughtful consideration for families with small children. As it was late August during our stay, most guests were families with kids; this created an atmosphere where even if there was some noise from children playing around, everyone understood each other’s situation without stress. For four adults plus one child at this price point—it felt like great value for money! This is truly an ideal accommodation for families traveling with kids. With plans to welcome more grandchildren in future years—we look forward to staying here again! The only downside during our visit would be that lingering musty smell in certain areas.

    It was comfortable.

    The room feels old but is clean, and the view was very nice. There were so many dishes at the night buffet and breakfast buffet that I ended up eating too much. The onsen in the large public bath was excellent. I would definitely like to use it again.

    I was looking forward to it, but

    I was very much looking forward to the reservation as I had plans with my daughter and grandchildren a few days before the stay. There was quite a line as check-in times overlapped. I felt very uncomfortable with the one-sided, condescending attitude of the female staff member who lacked professionalism. The attitude of the person representing the property was very disappointing, and there were two other issues, but I never want to use this property again.

    My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pool.

    We stayed as a family of three, including our 4-year and 10-month-old daughter, for 3 nights and 4 days. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pool, especially when the beach was closed for swimming, using it three times a day, including after dinner. It was convenient to have bath towels readily available at the pool and Onsen. The buffet was also well-received by our daughter. She seemed to enjoy the souvenir shop, coloring in the lobby, and the garden's illumination. I think it's a hotel friendly to families with children. On the other hand, a few complaints include the difficulty in adjusting the room's temperature, possibly due to the age of the Facility. There were no instructions on how to use the room's TV. Also, it would have been nice to have two room keys. Moreover, more than 80% of the buffet menu was the same every day, which felt lacking from an adult perspective. Of course, there were good points, such as the Onsen being easy to enter, and the staff being helpful with taxi arrangements, for which we are grateful. Being on a hill provided a sense of security from a tsunami evacuation standpoint. Overall, we were generally satisfied.

    Onsen, pool, meals, I want to visit again, wonderful Hotel.

    We went on a family trip with a relaxed schedule of 3 nights and 4 days to enjoy various activities in Shirahama. However, on the evening of our arrival, an earthquake occurred in Miyazaki, raising the possibility of a Nankai Trough earthquake, which led to the cancellation of most of our plans, such as swimming at Shirarahama, attending the fireworks festival, and visiting the onsen by the sea. Despite this, the view from the hotel room was wonderful, and the buffet was very delicious with a wide variety, leaving us very satisfied. The room, corridors, onsen bath, and pool were all clean. The staff at the front desk, restaurant, cleaning, and shop were kind and helpful. If there could be an improvement, it would be convenient to have a coin laundry. In summer, when going out or swimming in the pool, laundry is necessary. We washed by hand and hung them in the bath, but they didn't dry well, and there was no external cleaning service to entrust them to. Also, regarding the shuttle bus to Shirahama Station, it was dangerous as people boarding from the front entrance had to lift their luggage over the heads of those already seated to place it at the back of the bus. Since each person placed their luggage without securing it with ropes, the luggage collapsed noisily during the ride to the hotel. In other properties I've experienced, the staff would first collect the luggage, secure it, and then allow passengers to board, so it would be better to improve this to prevent luggage from hitting heads. Overall, it is a very lovely hotel, and I would like to visit again. It became a fun memory. I believe the earthquake also impacted Shirahama's economy, but I hope to enjoy Shirahama tourism and visit Koganoi-san again, so I encourage the hotel staff to keep up the good work.
