Enjoy the rose garden as well

I stay here several times a year, but since COVID the quality of the club floor has declined significantly, so I’ve been visiting less often. If you stay in May, the rose garden run by the Rokko Island neighborhood association next to the Hotel is beautiful. It’s small, but still enjoyable. There is also an Onsen, it’s close to the station, and there are many cultural facilities nearby—overall a great environment that I really like. If the club floor quality improved a bit more, I’d like to stay much more often.

    This is a comfortable Hotel.

We were upgraded free of charge to a higher-floor Room. Perhaps because it was Sunday, many nearby shops closed in the evening, and the Onsen was crowded before and after check-in, but we did not experience any particular inconvenience. Although there were almost no Japanese restaurants nearby, the buffet and Chinese restaurant were convenient to use, with plenty of dining options.

    About Check-out

I always have a comfortable stay here. This time, I chose the French spa cuisine plan and was very satisfied, enjoying both the Onsen and the French cuisine. However, I felt uncomfortable at checkout and would like to request an improvement. While I was waiting at the designated waiting area mark, one of the checkout staff assisted someone who arrived later and was not in line before me, which I found unpleasant. If a waiting area is provided, I would like staff to be aware of it and guide guests accordingly. As I plan to stay at this Accommodation again in the future, please ensure that this does not happen again.

    It was excellent.

The Room was spacious and comfortable. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and I ended up eating too much. There was also an Onsen, which I enjoyed twice—once at night and once in the morning. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely like to stay again.

I’d like to stay here again.

This was my second stay. I’m glad I found a great Onsen in the middle of the city. The staff were efficient and pleasant. We used the buffet. There was a decent variety, but there weren’t many classic staples, so some guests might find it hard to choose. Even so, I’d like to stay here again. I’m happy to have found such a good place.

Both breakfast and dinner, as well as the baths, are highly satisfying.

I have stayed here many times. I had the Chinese dinner, and both the flavors and the service were very pleasant. Breakfast was crowded and I waited about 30 minutes, but I was very satisfied with the wide variety of options. I love the sake lees clam chowder. The Onsen temperature was also just right. However, it was disappointing that despite my request, there was no bed placed against the wall or bed guard in the room, there was dust on the teacups and saucers, and there were stains on the humidifier. The hospitality is always excellent, so I think even more detailed cleaning would make it better.

    Our family stayed fo...

Our family stayed for two nights. We love this Hotel and have stayed many times because of the free-flowing natural Onsen, delicious meals, and comfortable atmosphere. During our stay, the elevator stopped due to an earthquake, but we were quickly able to move using a private elevator. The calm, reassuring response showed how well prepared and trained they are for emergencies—very impressive. There was also an announcement when the elevator service was restored, and it seemed there was no major confusion inside the Hotel. However, our elementary-school child felt scared by the siren over the broadcast system, so I think it would be better not to use a siren when service is restored. In any case, this stay reaffirmed how safe and reliable it feels here, and we would like to stay again.

    The bath was amazing.

As others have pointed out, the club lounge was a bit underwhelming, but the bath was excellent. Somehow, it felt like Arima Onsen’s Kinsen. It’s nearby, but I’d definitely come back for the bath. The French dinner was reasonably priced and satisfying in both quality and portion size. Thank you for your hospitality. I rated the amenities lower because some basic items (such as a toothbrush set) were missing, and I had to call to have them brought to me. Is the checking process a bit inconsistent?

    The Onsen is excellent.

I took a bath around dinnertime, and it was comfortable with fewer people. The moon looked beautiful from the open-air bath. After the bath, there was a clean space with a wide selection of drinks available, so I could relax at ease. They kindly changed the buffet to lunchtime, and when I arrived at the scheduled time, they had prepared a seat with a great view for me. There was a wide variety of dishes, and the salads were especially outstanding. The onion dressing was delicious. If I have the opportunity again, I would love to stay here again.

    We had a comfortable stay.

This was my first stay at this Accommodation. It is a little outside the center of the sightseeing area, but that’s probably why it offers such a luxuriously spacious setting. It feels just like a tropical luxury Hotel. The parking is free, which is especially convenient for guests using a rental car. The large public bath was excellent, just as many Reviews say. The water quality, the spaciousness, and the post-bath lounge were all very satisfying. The Room was kept very clean, and even though it was nearly fully booked, it was quiet. Unfortunately I didn’t use the dining options due to my schedule, but I’d like to try them next time.

I enjoyed the Onsen at the Hotel.

I really enjoyed the best of both a Hotel and an Onsen. The Chinese restaurant we used for dinner was also great, with light, delicate seasoning. My requests are: 1. The check-in staff seemed rushed. Even though I should have been able to check in at the Club Floor desk, when I tried to ask about it they didn’t listen and hurried me to line up with just one representative at the counter. I would have appreciated a calmer, more relaxed 안내. 2. I had read previous guests’ comments about the club lounge, so I wasn’t expecting much in terms of sweets or snacks, but I still wished there were a wider selection that felt a bit more luxurious. There was a one-hour usage limit, so next time I’d like to take my time. (The sunset view was amazing and the scenery was wonderful.)

A well-appointed relaxation area to unwind after your bath.

This was my second stay. The bath was crowded last time, but this time it was pleasantly quiet, perhaps because I stayed on a Sunday. The bath is great, and the relaxation area afterward is also well equipped. Although it’s a Hotel, the Room offers all the comforts of a Hotel, and the Onsen provides Ryokan-like relaxation, making it feel like a great value.

    Nearby Hotels & Onsen

Although the houses are so close that you can see them from the Room, the ocean view felt wonderfully refreshing. The Onsen here, “Hamasen,” truly warms you to the core. My mother, who suffers from lower back pain, had to walk hunched over from our Room to the Onsen, but after bathing she straightened up and briskly walked back to the Room, smiling and saying with a laugh, “How strange!” The milk and coffee milk served after bathing in the newly opened lounge felt like a classic—nostalgic in the best way. It may carry an international brand name as Sheraton, but as part of the New Awaji Group it feels like a great blend of both worlds: an international hotel and a Japanese Ryokan. If I had one request, I’d appreciate a few more options on the in-room dining menu. We’ll be sure to drop by again on a whim.

I will never stay here again. Is this really a Sheraton?

I was shocked—was this really a Sheraton? The hospitality, the Hotel’s design, the service, and the food were all far below other Sheratons. It’s only acceptable if you think of it as a Business Hotel. To begin with, none of the staff smiled. Were they all in a bad mood? At check-in, the staff member mumbled and spoke so fast that I could barely understand. While I was looking at an information sign on the counter, a female attendant silently reached from behind as she passed by and took it away. When I asked, “Excuse me, could you say that again?” the atmosphere became tense. During my stay, I found another guest’s room key and brought it to the front desk, but a bald male attendant (possibly the manager?) barely made eye contact—let alone smiled. Since this is such a great hotel group overall, it honestly feels like staff training at another property of the same class might be needed. I’m not comparing it to luxury brands like Ritz or JW. For example, even within the same premium class, Sheraton Sendai WESTEN is far more refined than this Accommodation. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but I like this hotel group—which is exactly why I’m writing this.

    Change breakfast to lunch.

Hotel Life has an Onsen Facility, and we were able to relax. We also really appreciated that breakfast could be changed to lunch, as we wanted to take it easy in the morning. However, many of the staff were foreigners, and there were times when communication did not go smoothly, which was a bit inconvenient.

The free-flowing natural Onsen was wonderful.

The free-flowing natural Onsen was excellent. The water was a milky white with a faint yellow tint. For an Onsen in a city Hotel, it felt like a truly authentic, full-fledged hot spring. The water temperature varied by bath, and there was also an open-air bath, which was very relaxing.

This is our go-to place for trips to Kobe!

My first trip to Kobe in two years. I’d been looking forward to it ever since we decided to travel. The comfort I always feel here hasn’t changed, and it was a highly satisfying stay in every way. The Onsen was as relaxing as ever, and while the Room does show some age, it was still clean and comfortable for a restful stay. I stayed in a Club Room, but check-in was handled at the regular front desk as usual—unchanged since the COVID period… Also, the cocktail time snacks seemed less substantial than before… It’s a shame because everything tasted great! I went to the breakfast buffet at 8:00, but it was crowded and I waited about 30 minutes. Because of that, I didn’t really feel much of the special Club Room experience. That said, it’s good value, and best of all there’s a direct elevator to the Onsen… I also like being able to stay in a Club Room without feeling like I have to dress up or try too hard, so overall I was satisfied. Also, discovering how delicious the cream puffs I took out from the marche were made me very happy! I’d like to plan another visit again. Thank you very much!

    Room with a Terrace

Beyond the sunken-floor table area is a terrace, and the table, chairs, and indoor plants are lovely. I liked it, but my husband didn’t—he had to step up at the sunken-floor table area, and he complained that the glass door leading to the terrace was low and he might hit his head. The Onsen was great.

    It was an excellent Hotel.

The Room was clean, spacious, and had a luxurious feel. The amenities were well stocked, and I was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet was also great. Guests can use the Onsen for free, and it was spacious and well equipped. All the Hotel staff were kind and helpful. If you’re looking for a Hotel in the Kobe area, I highly recommend this one. I’ll be choosing this Hotel from now on as well. It made for a wonderful trip—thank you very much.

    This was our fourth ...

This was our fourth stay. This time, we stayed as two families to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. They arranged connecting Rooms for us, and we had a lively and wonderful time together. In the Room, they left a congratulatory message and sweets for the occasion. And at dinner, they surprised us with a cake topped with lit candles. We were truly moved by such thoughtful hospitality. It became an unforgettable birthday for my mother. The Onsen was also incredibly relaxing—this is a Hotel we truly love.

    A Relaxing, Well-Appointed Hotel

We stayed here for a trip to Kobe as a couple. From check-in, the staff made a great impression, and our Room was comfortable with a wide selection of amenities, making for a wonderful Hotel stay. We enjoyed a course dinner at the top-floor restaurant; the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We also appreciated being able to enjoy alcohol freely in the club lounge while taking in Kobe’s night views. What surprised us most was the Onsen bath inside the Hotel—relaxing and impressive, with a large public bath on par with a Ryokan. This is a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again.

I’m staying here for my birthday.

I’ve been staying here on my birthday for the past three years. The Onsen at Rokko Onsen Hamaizumi is just as good as Arima Onsen and leaves my skin silky smooth. Last year I stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and the free-flowing hot spring water was amazing—I loved it so much that this year I booked a Multiple Night Stay. I really wanted to try the dim sum at Suikyoen (since there wasn’t any dim sum at dinner), so I had it for lunch instead of dinner, and it was delicious—I’d love to have it again next time. Also, since I stayed multiple nights, it was great that I could change breakfast to lunch so I could take it easy in the morning. I was completely satisfied with three days of enjoying the Onsen—thank you very much.

I was disappointed after getting my hopes up.

The front desk staff member was from overseas, and the in-house guidance was minimal, so the service felt disappointing. It was my first stay and I had many questions, but there was almost no explanation. I also wanted them to clearly mention that Onsen hours are shorter on Tuesdays. The card key was handed to me with just “Here’s your key,” and I wasn’t told my Room number. At the buffet, dishes were not replenished promptly even when they ran out. I won’t be coming back.

    The Onsen was excellent.

I made a Reservation after seeing Reviews saying the Onsen was great. It was very good. If I had to mention one drawback, I would have liked a note in the Room explaining that towels are available at the Onsen and providing instructions on how to enter the facility.

The bath was amazing after all.

This was my second stay. The area is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and a university, with no major sightseeing spots nearby, and transportation is not ideal. However, the Sheraton-brand Room quality—and above all, unlimited access to the Onsen—are outstanding. There is a direct bus from Sannomiya, and the monorail connects directly as well, so it is surprisingly convenient to reach a convenience store without having to walk outside much. In addition to the Hotel restaurant, there are also some great local places nearby that residents frequent. The Onsen has wonderful tea-brown water. You can use it almost anytime except during sleeping hours, and a big plus for women is the dedicated Onsen elevator from the Hotel floors. Some Hotels also have large public baths, but what I dislike most is sharing an elevator with people heading to breakfast or checking in/out. It used to be uncomfortable riding with strangers bare-faced and in loungewear, but at this Sheraton there’s no need to worry about that! For a Multiple Night Stay, I would like you to provide a “no cleaning needed” sign. It feels wasteful otherwise! It would be even better if guests could choose this option. Thank you very much.

We had a very relaxing stay.

The Onsen and the meals were both great. My friend who came with me was satisfied as well. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, but there wasn’t much overlap in the selection. The tempura at dinner was crispy, and the curry was delicious too. The steak was thick and nice, but it was disappointing that it had a lot of gristle and was tough. In the morning, the Akashiyaki-style omelet and French toast were also fluffy and tasty. I would have preferred a bit more butter flavor, though. The freshly grilled salmon was delicious as well. Compared to other hotels, the Executive Lounge did feel lacking in terms of food and drinks. Overall, this is a Hotel I like very much.

    Ageless Beauty Getaway

Thank you very much for taking care of us from February 9 to 11. We were three women traveling together. Two of us took the airport limousine bus from Haneda Airport to Kobe Airport and then on to the Hotel, arriving safely. We had planned to meet the third person at Sannomiya Station, but due to major train delays we finally met up in the evening. From Sannomiya we took the bus to the Hotel, enjoyed three night-time dishes and drinks at the Club Lounge, and were able to unwind from our long journey. The large public bath and Onsen also helped melt away both physical and mental fatigue. The next morning’s buffet had such a wide variety that it was hard to decide what to eat first. The coffee served from a cart was delicious, and the young woman who assisted us had exceptionally wonderful hospitality—thanks to her, we felt happy from the morning and got off to a great start. On the 10th (the day before a holiday), both the club floor area and the large public bath were extremely crowded. On the morning of the 11th, however, the woman who guided us at breakfast seemed completely unmotivated. She tried to seat us at a table where someone’s smartphone had been left behind, and since it was a holiday we were placed in an area that was noisy with children. It felt like our vacation experience was diminished somewhat—but seeing again the staff member who served coffee yesterday lifted our mood a little. During busy times, we would appreciate more consideration in how seating is assigned. Other than that, everything was excellent. We also got to meet “the person with round glasses” who is popular in Review posts. We understand that since this is your job every day there may be times when you are tired or not feeling your best—but each encounter is once-in-a-lifetime. Please continue striving for service that makes guests want to come back just to see you again.

    Unpleasant check-in experience.

I waited in line as instructed at check-in, but when I thought it was my turn, someone who was seated was helped first, so I wasn’t sure what was going on. They upgraded me from the Comfort Floor to the Preferred Floor, but it only changed from the 12th to the 14th floor—the Room size, layout, and bed were all the same. I had been looking forward to the Comfort Floor lounge, and when I froze at the front desk about that, they also issued a card that allowed access to the Comfort Floor so I could use that lounge as well. The massage chair in the Comfort Floor lounge felt better than the one in the spa lounge. I switched breakfast to lunch and was able to relax, but maybe because I come around the same time every year, it feels like the menu hasn’t changed much. The tempura and other items are tasty, but it all felt very familiar.

Perhaps I had too high expectations.

This was the first time I was denied a Diamond benefit, which gave me a bad feeling from check-in. The room was spacious with a beautiful night view. Although it’s understandable that the toilet, shower booth, and bathtub share the same space, the bathtub felt gritty during use, which was disappointing. Additionally, there weren’t enough amenities provided—another letdown. The night was quiet and allowed for comfortable sleep. The next morning at breakfast, while waiting in line, an elderly woman ahead of us wearing a yukata was turned away only when her turn came up. If she had been informed earlier about the dress code policy, it could have saved her waiting time—a small detail but one that made me question their hospitality. As for the food itself: my husband mentioned that his miso soup wasn’t warm enough—it seemed like someone forgot to turn on the warmer switch. Another disappointment came when finished plates were not cleared from our table despite asking staff members; eventually I had to take them myself to where employees were working—a bit too much to overlook even if expectations might be high. Even at budget buffet restaurants staff clear plates promptly. Although it was a short stay at this accommodation overall experience left mixed impressions due reflecting upon various aspects throughout visit!

There are many options, but rooms with an Onsen open-air bath are the best.

The Japanese Spa Suite is an exceptionally comfortable room. The Onsen open-air bath is wonderful, with a slightly cloudy appearance and a pleasant aroma, featuring a tub spacious enough for two people to bathe comfortably. The bathroom also has underfloor heating, and the room includes wide tatami mats, offering a Ryokan-style yet luxurious suite experience. However, the lighting in the room is too dim. There are almost no ceiling lights in the living area and Japanese-style room, making it impossible to adjust brightness. Upon request, we were provided with a desk lamp for work or study purposes; however, it only illuminated specific areas and detracted from the suite's ambiance. While installing ceiling lights may require significant renovations, adding two more stand lamps or floor lights could greatly improve this issue. "Kobe Rokko Onsen Hamaisumi" features indoor baths with open-air baths and a post-bath lounge that provides comfort and enhances the feeling of being at an Onsen. We chose a plan that included access to the lounge; however, the food served individually was quite sparse (especially during Twilight Service when only one plate of cold hors d'oeuvres was offered). Perhaps due to an increase in visitors compared to our previous visit, we felt it had become less generous than before (though arranging dinner elsewhere as we did this time can easily address this). Breakfast was served not in the lounge but at a terrace restaurant offering buffet-style dining with plenty of variety and delicious options. During peak hours when many guests are present, there may be waiting lines; however, using their queue system allows you to avoid waiting physically—this system works very well. That said, we found that scanning the QR code on the explanation sheet provided by reception did not grant access to this system; revising either their instructions or QR code would be helpful. Despite some minor issues overall—it was very comfortable!
