    Change breakfast to lunch.

Hotel Life has an Onsen Facility, and we were able to relax. We also really appreciated that breakfast could be changed to lunch, as we wanted to take it easy in the morning. However, many of the staff were foreigners, and there were times when communication did not go smoothly, which was a bit inconvenient.

The free-flowing natural Onsen was wonderful.

The free-flowing natural Onsen was excellent. The water was a milky white with a faint yellow tint. For an Onsen in a city Hotel, it felt like a truly authentic, full-fledged hot spring. The water temperature varied by bath, and there was also an open-air bath, which was very relaxing.

This is our go-to place for trips to Kobe!

My first trip to Kobe in two years. I’d been looking forward to it ever since we decided to travel. The comfort I always feel here hasn’t changed, and it was a highly satisfying stay in every way. The Onsen was as relaxing as ever, and while the Room does show some age, it was still clean and comfortable for a restful stay. I stayed in a Club Room, but check-in was handled at the regular front desk as usual—unchanged since the COVID period… Also, the cocktail time snacks seemed less substantial than before… It’s a shame because everything tasted great! I went to the breakfast buffet at 8:00, but it was crowded and I waited about 30 minutes. Because of that, I didn’t really feel much of the special Club Room experience. That said, it’s good value, and best of all there’s a direct elevator to the Onsen… I also like being able to stay in a Club Room without feeling like I have to dress up or try too hard, so overall I was satisfied. Also, discovering how delicious the cream puffs I took out from the marche were made me very happy! I’d like to plan another visit again. Thank you very much!

    Room with a Terrace

Beyond the sunken-floor table area is a terrace, and the table, chairs, and indoor plants are lovely. I liked it, but my husband didn’t—he had to step up at the sunken-floor table area, and he complained that the glass door leading to the terrace was low and he might hit his head. The Onsen was great.

    It was an excellent Hotel.

The Room was clean, spacious, and had a luxurious feel. The amenities were well stocked, and I was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet was also great. Guests can use the Onsen for free, and it was spacious and well equipped. All the Hotel staff were kind and helpful. If you’re looking for a Hotel in the Kobe area, I highly recommend this one. I’ll be choosing this Hotel from now on as well. It made for a wonderful trip—thank you very much.

    This was our fourth ...

This was our fourth stay. This time, we stayed as two families to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. They arranged connecting Rooms for us, and we had a lively and wonderful time together. In the Room, they left a congratulatory message and sweets for the occasion. And at dinner, they surprised us with a cake topped with lit candles. We were truly moved by such thoughtful hospitality. It became an unforgettable birthday for my mother. The Onsen was also incredibly relaxing—this is a Hotel we truly love.

    A Relaxing, Well-Appointed Hotel

We stayed here for a trip to Kobe as a couple. From check-in, the staff made a great impression, and our Room was comfortable with a wide selection of amenities, making for a wonderful Hotel stay. We enjoyed a course dinner at the top-floor restaurant; the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We also appreciated being able to enjoy alcohol freely in the club lounge while taking in Kobe’s night views. What surprised us most was the Onsen bath inside the Hotel—relaxing and impressive, with a large public bath on par with a Ryokan. This is a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again.

I’m staying here for my birthday.

I’ve been staying here on my birthday for the past three years. The Onsen at Rokko Onsen Hamaizumi is just as good as Arima Onsen and leaves my skin silky smooth. Last year I stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and the free-flowing hot spring water was amazing—I loved it so much that this year I booked a Multiple Night Stay. I really wanted to try the dim sum at Suikyoen (since there wasn’t any dim sum at dinner), so I had it for lunch instead of dinner, and it was delicious—I’d love to have it again next time. Also, since I stayed multiple nights, it was great that I could change breakfast to lunch so I could take it easy in the morning. I was completely satisfied with three days of enjoying the Onsen—thank you very much.

I was disappointed after getting my hopes up.

The front desk staff member was from overseas, and the in-house guidance was minimal, so the service felt disappointing. It was my first stay and I had many questions, but there was almost no explanation. I also wanted them to clearly mention that Onsen hours are shorter on Tuesdays. The card key was handed to me with just “Here’s your key,” and I wasn’t told my Room number. At the buffet, dishes were not replenished promptly even when they ran out. I won’t be coming back.

    The Onsen was excellent.

I made a Reservation after seeing Reviews saying the Onsen was great. It was very good. If I had to mention one drawback, I would have liked a note in the Room explaining that towels are available at the Onsen and providing instructions on how to enter the facility.

The bath was amazing after all.

This was my second stay. The area is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and a university, with no major sightseeing spots nearby, and transportation is not ideal. However, the Sheraton-brand Room quality—and above all, unlimited access to the Onsen—are outstanding. There is a direct bus from Sannomiya, and the monorail connects directly as well, so it is surprisingly convenient to reach a convenience store without having to walk outside much. In addition to the Hotel restaurant, there are also some great local places nearby that residents frequent. The Onsen has wonderful tea-brown water. You can use it almost anytime except during sleeping hours, and a big plus for women is the dedicated Onsen elevator from the Hotel floors. Some Hotels also have large public baths, but what I dislike most is sharing an elevator with people heading to breakfast or checking in/out. It used to be uncomfortable riding with strangers bare-faced and in loungewear, but at this Sheraton there’s no need to worry about that! For a Multiple Night Stay, I would like you to provide a “no cleaning needed” sign. It feels wasteful otherwise! It would be even better if guests could choose this option. Thank you very much.

We had a very relaxing stay.

The Onsen and the meals were both great. My friend who came with me was satisfied as well. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, but there wasn’t much overlap in the selection. The tempura at dinner was crispy, and the curry was delicious too. The steak was thick and nice, but it was disappointing that it had a lot of gristle and was tough. In the morning, the Akashiyaki-style omelet and French toast were also fluffy and tasty. I would have preferred a bit more butter flavor, though. The freshly grilled salmon was delicious as well. Compared to other hotels, the Executive Lounge did feel lacking in terms of food and drinks. Overall, this is a Hotel I like very much.

    Ageless Beauty Getaway

Thank you very much for taking care of us from February 9 to 11. We were three women traveling together. Two of us took the airport limousine bus from Haneda Airport to Kobe Airport and then on to the Hotel, arriving safely. We had planned to meet the third person at Sannomiya Station, but due to major train delays we finally met up in the evening. From Sannomiya we took the bus to the Hotel, enjoyed three night-time dishes and drinks at the Club Lounge, and were able to unwind from our long journey. The large public bath and Onsen also helped melt away both physical and mental fatigue. The next morning’s buffet had such a wide variety that it was hard to decide what to eat first. The coffee served from a cart was delicious, and the young woman who assisted us had exceptionally wonderful hospitality—thanks to her, we felt happy from the morning and got off to a great start. On the 10th (the day before a holiday), both the club floor area and the large public bath were extremely crowded. On the morning of the 11th, however, the woman who guided us at breakfast seemed completely unmotivated. She tried to seat us at a table where someone’s smartphone had been left behind, and since it was a holiday we were placed in an area that was noisy with children. It felt like our vacation experience was diminished somewhat—but seeing again the staff member who served coffee yesterday lifted our mood a little. During busy times, we would appreciate more consideration in how seating is assigned. Other than that, everything was excellent. We also got to meet “the person with round glasses” who is popular in Review posts. We understand that since this is your job every day there may be times when you are tired or not feeling your best—but each encounter is once-in-a-lifetime. Please continue striving for service that makes guests want to come back just to see you again.

    Unpleasant check-in experience.

I waited in line as instructed at check-in, but when I thought it was my turn, someone who was seated was helped first, so I wasn’t sure what was going on. They upgraded me from the Comfort Floor to the Preferred Floor, but it only changed from the 12th to the 14th floor—the Room size, layout, and bed were all the same. I had been looking forward to the Comfort Floor lounge, and when I froze at the front desk about that, they also issued a card that allowed access to the Comfort Floor so I could use that lounge as well. The massage chair in the Comfort Floor lounge felt better than the one in the spa lounge. I switched breakfast to lunch and was able to relax, but maybe because I come around the same time every year, it feels like the menu hasn’t changed much. The tempura and other items are tasty, but it all felt very familiar.

Perhaps I had too high expectations.

This was the first time I was denied a Diamond benefit, which gave me a bad feeling from check-in. The room was spacious with a beautiful night view. Although it’s understandable that the toilet, shower booth, and bathtub share the same space, the bathtub felt gritty during use, which was disappointing. Additionally, there weren’t enough amenities provided—another letdown. The night was quiet and allowed for comfortable sleep. The next morning at breakfast, while waiting in line, an elderly woman ahead of us wearing a yukata was turned away only when her turn came up. If she had been informed earlier about the dress code policy, it could have saved her waiting time—a small detail but one that made me question their hospitality. As for the food itself: my husband mentioned that his miso soup wasn’t warm enough—it seemed like someone forgot to turn on the warmer switch. Another disappointment came when finished plates were not cleared from our table despite asking staff members; eventually I had to take them myself to where employees were working—a bit too much to overlook even if expectations might be high. Even at budget buffet restaurants staff clear plates promptly. Although it was a short stay at this accommodation overall experience left mixed impressions due reflecting upon various aspects throughout visit!

There are many options, but rooms with an Onsen open-air bath are the best.

The Japanese Spa Suite is an exceptionally comfortable room. The Onsen open-air bath is wonderful, with a slightly cloudy appearance and a pleasant aroma, featuring a tub spacious enough for two people to bathe comfortably. The bathroom also has underfloor heating, and the room includes wide tatami mats, offering a Ryokan-style yet luxurious suite experience. However, the lighting in the room is too dim. There are almost no ceiling lights in the living area and Japanese-style room, making it impossible to adjust brightness. Upon request, we were provided with a desk lamp for work or study purposes; however, it only illuminated specific areas and detracted from the suite's ambiance. While installing ceiling lights may require significant renovations, adding two more stand lamps or floor lights could greatly improve this issue. "Kobe Rokko Onsen Hamaisumi" features indoor baths with open-air baths and a post-bath lounge that provides comfort and enhances the feeling of being at an Onsen. We chose a plan that included access to the lounge; however, the food served individually was quite sparse (especially during Twilight Service when only one plate of cold hors d'oeuvres was offered). Perhaps due to an increase in visitors compared to our previous visit, we felt it had become less generous than before (though arranging dinner elsewhere as we did this time can easily address this). Breakfast was served not in the lounge but at a terrace restaurant offering buffet-style dining with plenty of variety and delicious options. During peak hours when many guests are present, there may be waiting lines; however, using their queue system allows you to avoid waiting physically—this system works very well. That said, we found that scanning the QR code on the explanation sheet provided by reception did not grant access to this system; revising either their instructions or QR code would be helpful. Despite some minor issues overall—it was very comfortable!

    A Staycation with Sisters

Checked in at 3 PM after having lunch in Motomachi Chinatown and stayed on the 19th floor. The lounge was nearby, and access to the Onsen was smooth with a dedicated elevator while wearing a yukata. The Onsen features natural hot spring water, and the relaxation area offers free drinks such as Awaji Island milk, coffee milk, and Yakult. In the evening, alcohol is served in the lounge; however, it was free time on this particular day. The pajamas were two-piece and very comfortable to wear. I changed my breakfast to a lunch buffet for the next day, allowing me to relax in the Onsen in the morning. All staff members were kind and attentive with frequent cleaning throughout all areas. I had an absolutely wonderful time here—thank you!

    Favorite Hotel

I have stayed here several times. I really enjoy the Onsen large bath with natural hot spring water. For dinner, I choose the buffet as I am a picky eater. The variety of dishes is great, and the taste is excellent. Breakfast is equally satisfying every time. However, one disappointing aspect is that the area beyond the dedicated door to access the elevator directly to the spa feels dim and eerie. When going to the spa alone, I change into regular clothes and use the general elevator instead. It would be much appreciated if that area could be made brighter. The Hotel's proximity to the nearest station makes it easy for me to confidently recommend it to friends as well. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Good Onsen

The location was great, and it was easy to travel to Kobe City by train. Considering the parking situation, leaving the car at the Hotel made accessing Kobe City very convenient. The Room and Onsen were spacious, and the breakfast was delicious. The only downside was that our Room was next to the elevator, and we could hear its operation late into the night, which made it hard to sleep... Other than that, we were very satisfied!

    The hot spring was excellent.

The room had a terrace, allowing us to enjoy the fresh air and have a pleasant stay. The Onsen had excellent water quality and was very warming. Each meal was delicious, though my husband felt the portions were slightly small; however, I believe they were sufficient for women. The rice porridge at breakfast was a bit watery, but the flavor was excellent—perhaps adding more rice would improve it. We would love to come back for another relaxing visit.

    The bath was absolutely wonderful.

Stayed with three people for a training session. The spacious room, even with an extra bed, allowed us to relax comfortably. There was a direct elevator from the floor to the Onsen, making movement smooth and convenient. The Onsen featured a sauna and therapeutic water streams, with perfectly warm water and a clean, comfortable post-bath area. As we stayed for two nights, we enjoyed breakfast twice. The menu varied slightly each day, and the taste was delicious—completely satisfying. Would love to stay here again!

    Club floors are highly recommended.

Repeat stay. Stayed on a weekday and received satisfaction beyond the price. This time, there was a wait during cocktail time at the club lounge, but I was able to wait in my room. - Onsen: Opens at 5:30 AM, convenient for those checking out early. - Pool: Opens at 7:00 AM, great for light exercise before breakfast. Overall, the cost performance of the club floor is excellent.

    Club Room

The Club Room Plan was disappointing, to say the least. Despite being labeled as a City Hotel's Club Room Plan, the lounge offerings were limited to dry snacks and a single small plate of hors d'oeuvres during cocktail time. My wife also mentioned that she would not consider staying again, which is extremely disappointing. Due to my work, I frequently use club rooms at various city hotels. While I do not expect high-brand hotel standards, I believe more thought should be given to the menu offerings. As it stands, it is on par with free drink menus at Business Hotels. Additionally, the menu in the club lounge differs significantly from what is shown on your website and photos. This could lead to misunderstandings and should be corrected. There was no value in staying under this Club Room Plan compared to a standard one-night stay with breakfast plan. The hot spring quality was excellent for relaxation, and breakfast was comparable to typical City Hotel buffets; however, I hope you can revise your club lounge menu into something more representative of Sheraton's brand image. The risk of brand damage outweighs cost concerns. Lastly, while the front desk staff on the day of our stay and those at the breakfast venue were friendly and welcoming with smiles, I must point out that when confirming details over the phone beforehand with a male staff member, his attitude was unacceptable. Improvement in this area is necessary as well.

    The quality of breakfast is...

I live in the Kansai area and have stayed at this Hotel multiple times because it offers relatively affordable Accommodation and has an Onsen, making it one of my favorites. However, the breakfast was somewhat disappointing this time, possibly due to a change in management. I personally felt there wasn’t much I wanted to eat, and my companion also mentioned that the quality had declined, so it seems it wasn’t just my imagination. It might be unavoidable given the rising costs of goods.

    It was disappointing.

We stay at accommodations dozens of times a year and were looking forward to this hotel as well. However, during check-in, the explanation from a woman in her 20s or 30s with distinctive eyelashes at the front desk was very unclear. When we asked for clarification, her attitude was quite unpleasant. First impressions are important. As for the onsen we were excited about, while the facility is well-maintained, several men holding infants in their arms were bathing, which felt unhygienic. The quality of the meals is high. The initial impression during check-in significantly affects the overall stay experience. It’s disappointing.

Stay at the beginning of the year

This was my first time staying on January 2nd. There was a mini shrine on the 4th floor of the hotel where I could make a New Year's visit. The dinner buffet had a special New Year version, and although it was slightly more expensive, it included crab, traditional New Year dishes, and steak, making it very luxurious. The breakfast also featured traditional New Year dishes. On New Year's Day, the 21st floor was opened for viewing the first sunrise of the year. Soaking in the onsen and enjoying delicious meals made for a truly wonderful start to the year. I would love to come back again next New Year!

    I love Onsen.

I enjoyed relaxing at the lounge, pool, and onsen again this time. When I made a reservation last summer, I had to change the schedule due to restaurant renovations, but I received a very polite apology for it. Although I had completely forgotten about it myself, I was impressed by such thoughtful consideration. As mentioned in other reviews, the lounge snacks and hors d'oeuvres feel somewhat lacking. However, the authentic and comfortable onsen and the unique option to switch breakfast to lunch—something rarely seen at other hotels—make this hotel a place I want to visit regularly. My wife also loves it very much, and we look forward to visiting again when we have another opportunity. Thank you!

    The Sheraton has really declined!

I would like to start by saying that I love Sheraton. However, I feel compelled to share some constructive criticism. The quality of the staff is extremely poor. It seems they are mostly new hires. While the experienced staff members are professional, the younger ones (including foreign staff) show a significant decline in quality. Here are some specific examples: - Breakfast restaurant: When I asked a staff member for a small bowl for my Onsen egg since none were available, they replied, "I'll bring it right away." However, no one came for quite some time. When someone finally arrived, they brought me a container meant for egg shells instead of a bowl. After explaining again, they claimed it was my misunderstanding—how could that be? This should have been obvious! Then I had to wait several more minutes before receiving what I needed. This kind of service is unacceptable. - The lack of smiles: In the morning, their expressions could be described as gloomy at best (to use Kansai slang). For instance, when returning my table card at the buffet entrance on my way out, one staff member simply extended their hand without even looking at me. When I told them to "look at customers when accepting something," they looked utterly shocked. That said, this issue isn't solely about the staff—it also reflects on customer behavior these days. For example, there was an older man using his smartphone inside an Onsen facility—he was Japanese! When confronted about it and told this wasn't allowed in such spaces, he claimed he had permission from the staff—which seemed highly unlikely. While it's often said that customers help shape and grow hotels over time if customer standards decline too much then hotels cannot thrive either. And just to clarify—this isn't harassment or unreasonable complaints; it's genuine feedback aimed at improvement!

    Perfect for relaxation!

This year was challenging due to a family loss, but at the end of the year, we stayed at your Hotel to heal our minds and bodies. The Onsen and sauna facilities were excellent. We enjoyed two days of pure relaxation in the Onsen and sauna. Thank you very much. However, the crab legs served at the dinner buffet were empty inside! It might be better not to serve them if that's the case. (Even without crab, I think the variety of dishes is great.) The Onsen was wonderful, so we will visit again.

It was a truly wonderful anniversary.

We stayed at the accommodation in November to celebrate my parents' birthdays. Thank you for the wonderful birthday celebration; my parents were very happy. We chose a plan with breakfast and dinner included, and during dinner, there was a Hokkaido fair where we enjoyed dishes like Genghis Khan, Zangi, and seafood to our hearts' content. The breakfast was also very delicious. We had a memorable time as a family while enjoying a resort-like atmosphere nearby. Thank you so much!
