Jiyu Tabi Club Kiso Mikawa House

I stayed here when visiting Kiso-Fukushima Ski Resort. It’s in a great location in the center of Kiso-Fukushima, close to the station, and only about a 20-minute drive to the ski resort.I chose a Plan with dinner, and you select from 5–6 set-meal options. I picked the Sanzoku-yaki, and it was delicious with a perfectly crispy coating. Breakfast was buffet-style, with homemade side dishes as well as beef tendon curry, tonjiru (pork miso soup), minestrone, natto, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, and several kinds of bread—everything was very tasty. I had seen some Reviews saying there weren’t many items, but that wasn’t true at all; I ended up taking too much and was completely full.The building itself feels older, but it was very clean. The TV and sink were new, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like a small table between the beds and an extension cord provided. The drink bar doesn’t include alcohol, but there’s a wide selection and you can take drinks back to your Room, so I used it many times. There were also many kinds of tea bags available—all of them were good. Each floor has a water dispenser with Kiso water as well, which I also used repeatedly.The large public bath is an Onsen that helped soothe my tired body after skiing. My companion was surprised that with this quality and service it cost under 9,000 yen per person. We were extremely satisfied and had a very comfortable stay—it’s easy to see why so many guests return. I’d love to stay again when visiting Shinshu even outside ski season.

I am a repeat guest. I think many older guests would prefer raw eggs instead of boiled eggs for breakfast. Everything else was excellent! I will stay again!
