Jiyu Tabi Club Kiso Mikawa House

I stayed here when visiting Kiso-Fukushima Ski Resort. It’s in a great location in the center of Kiso-Fukushima, close to the station, and only about a 20-minute drive to the ski resort.I chose a Plan with dinner included, and you select from 5–6 set-meal options. I picked the Sanzoku-yaki, and it was very delicious with a crispy coating. Breakfast was buffet-style, with homemade side dishes as well as beef tendon curry, tonjiru (pork miso soup), minestrone, natto, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, and several kinds of bread—everything was seasoned really well. I had seen some Reviews saying there weren’t many items, but that wasn’t true at all; I took too much and ended up completely full.The building itself seems older, but it was very clean. The TV and sink were new, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as a small table between the beds and an extension cord provided. The drink bar doesn’t include alcohol, but there’s a wide variety of options and you can take drinks back to your Room, so I used it many times. There were also many kinds of tea bags available—all of them tasty. Each floor has a water dispenser with Kiso water as well, which I also used repeatedly. The large public bath is an Onsen that helped soothe my tired body after skiing.My companion was surprised that with this quality and service it cost under JPY 9,000 per person. We were extremely satisfied and had a very comfortable stay. It’s easy to see why there are so many repeat guests. Even outside ski season when visiting Shinshu again, I would definitely like to stay here again.

I’m a repeat guest. For breakfast, I think many older guests would be happier if the boiled egg were changed to a raw egg. Other than that, everything is excellent! I’ll definitely stay again!
