It was a wonderful Hotel!
Check-in at 9 PM was met with pleasant and accommodating service. Thank you for addressing our requests and concerns! The Room, including the bathroom, was clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the Room with a great view was very enjoyable. Although this stay was short due to circumstances, I look forward to a longer visit next time to enjoy dining within the Hotel. Thank you for your high-level hospitality!

The meals are excellent, the staff is...
The meals were very delicious, and the Facility was clean, truly showcasing the dignity of a long-established Hotel! On the other hand, the quality of staff service was noticeably poor. (They only repeated standard responses to our questions without any effort to be considerate, asked us to come to the front desk to pick up towels when we requested them at night, lacked coordination among staff members, and their responses felt loose and unprofessional, etc.) As a four-star Hotel, the staff's level is at its lowest class and requires fundamental improvement.

Bed
The bed provided the best sleeping comfort. I personally would have preferred a slightly firmer pillow, though! Overall, it was very good, and I would love to stay again!

A good and affordable Hotel
Although it is a hotel exclusively for Waseda (Waseda) affiliates and inbound guests, it is actually a good hotel for the price. There is a good restaurant, and both the room and service are not bad. If it were me, I would choose this over Chinzanso (Chinzanso) within walking distance, as it is cheaper for everyday use.

Although the Room has been renovated, there is a smell coming from the drainage. We stayed for five days, but the breakfast buffet was the same every day, unlike other Hotels that offer more variety, which was very disappointing.

Not available at night.
Due to circumstances, I had a late-night check-in, but the parking lot shutter was closed, so I called the front desk about 100 times, but it seemed they were sound asleep and couldn't answer. This Hotel might not be suitable for nighttime.

Stay in a Junior Suite
Since I checked in at night, the "garden side" was completely dark, but in the morning, the room had a view of Okuma Garden and Waseda University's Okuma Auditorium. It's pleasant when the view is open. The room had a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed, and the living room was comfortably arranged with a sofa and chairs. Thanks to this, I was able to spend a relaxing time. Perhaps because it was raining the next morning, towels were placed at the hotel entrance, which was filled with the scent of roses, leaving a good impression. Breakfast was not included in the plan, but I went to the hotel's dining, Ferio. There were various vegetable dishes in addition to salads, and I enjoyed a well-balanced and filling meal. This hotel has an underground parking lot, which makes loading and unloading luggage convenient.

I had a very comfortable stay.
Thank you for your hospitality the other day. The hotel was well-maintained, and the room was good except for the view (it would have been nice to see the garden). Everyone, except the person who handled the check-in, was friendly and accommodating, especially the chef who cooked eggs for us during breakfast. The chef adjusted to our preferences and served us with a smile, demonstrating professionalism. The breakfast was satisfying, with quality ingredients sourced from specific regions. I will use this hotel when staying in Tokyo!

Deterioration of the Facility
The showerhead holder was wobbly, and when the water splashed, it hit the curtain, making the area outside the bathtub wet. Even after closing the faucet at the washbasin, water continued to leak, possibly due to an old gasket. Perhaps there is a shortage of staff. I have stayed several times, but the service has deteriorated. It's time to revoke the four-star rating.

It was very disappointing.
This time, after staying for the first time in decades, I was very disappointed. When I went out and tried to use the shuttle bus to the station, the bus just arrived, and as I was about to get on, the doorman signaled me to stop with his hand. I stopped, and then a group of people who had been waiting for the bus from behind came, so I got on after them. I wasn't cutting in line; it was my first time using the shuttle bus, so I didn't know the system. If there is a place to wait for the bus, after signaling to stop with the hand, it would be nice to say, "The line for the bus is over there, so please line up at the end," or "This bus is a shuttle service exclusively for groups, so general guests cannot use it." Stopping me with a hand signal without any explanation and then ignoring me is rude, I think. Also, in the room, there were used disposable chopsticks left on the floor, possibly from the previous guest. Please ensure at least minimal cleaning. After staying this time, I realized this hotel does not suit me.

A hotel with a calm atmosphere

It was disappointing not to be able to stroll through the garden.
I used the dinner-included plan. A cold towel was provided at check-in. It was a hot day, so I appreciated the thoughtful gesture. The room showed some signs of aging in the furnishings, but it was clean and easy to use. The amenities were well-stocked. The teppanyaki dinner was pleasant, thanks to the chef's courteous service. The portion wasn't large, and I thought I should have ordered extra meat. Breakfast offered a sufficient variety of Japanese and Western dishes. I enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly made sandwiches. It was a pity that I couldn't stroll through the Okuma Garden, as it was closed, and I could only view it from the room.

Spacious room with a nice view of the garden.
Although it is a hotel, I checked in after work, so it was not crowded and quiet. The room was spacious and quiet, which was nice. There was no major crowd at breakfast either, and the freshly baked croissant sandwich was crispy and delicious. Since I stayed for one night and had work again, I checked out early in the morning, but despite ringing the bell several times, no one came out... I wonder about that point... It would be troublesome if you're in a hurry.

It was lovely.
The front desk staff were nice, but perhaps because of the time I visited, around 16:00, everyone was busy with other guests, and I was left standing alone. I felt it would be good to have a service where someone approaches if they see a person standing alone in the lobby looking troubled. The person who assisted me was polite and greeted me with a smile, so I was satisfied. The room was clean, and I will use it again!

The promptness of the customer service is excellent.
After using the spa, I was looking for a vending machine and got lost in the building, when I unexpectedly encountered the patissier. Later, another staff member also joined us by chance, and when I explained my trivial reason, both of them kindly guided me. I was a bit embarrassed as I should have used the minibar, but it turned into a night of gratitude thanks to their warm smiles. The next morning, I went to the buffet and found out that the person was a top patissier, making both the meal and the sweets exceptional. I strongly felt that their personality and sincere approach were evident in their response beyond their regular duties, and I definitely want to visit again soon.

I have used it several times, and as expected, Rihga Royal Waseda is great! (If I were to nitpick, the parking fee of 1,500 yen would be more than perfect if it were included in the room rate.)

Gym usage fee
You have to pay 5,500 yen each time. If it's three times a day, it will be over 15,000 yen, which is unreasonable.

3 nights 4 days trip
On the first day, I swam, went to the sauna, and had a spa treatment. On the second day, I explored Waseda, visited temples, shrines, and gardens, and enjoyed Takase River cuisine with my family for dinner. On the third day, I traveled to Nagano, and on the fourth day, after checking out, I left my luggage and went to Shibuya, picked up my luggage, and returned home from the airport. The area is surrounded by greenery and has a townscape where university students gather. There is a shuttle bus from Takadanobaba to the hotel, and they can hold your luggage on the day of your stay, making it easy to move around before and after your stay. I felt that the meals, souvenirs, views of greenery, swimming, sauna, and spa treatments in the hotel were all worth more than the price. Thank you very much.

Parking and private conversations were disappointing.
This was my first time using this hotel. I apologize for the harsh review. The disappointing point was the private conversations among several hotel staff near the parking lot and while waiting for a taxi on the way back, but the check-in service was excellent, reflecting the quality of a good hotel. I gave 3 stars because there were wonderful staff members. I actually wanted to give 5 stars, but the noisy staff chatting deducted 2 stars. The facility loses 1 star because the parking lot was full, yet there was no full sign visible from the main street, which was inconvenient. - Parking: When entering from Shin-Mejiro Street Edogawabashi, both P signs showed as available, but upon entering the parking lot, one of the two floors, the B1 floor, was a time-limited parking and was full. Unaware, I went further to B2, which was for monthly parking only. Later, I checked the hotel website about parking, and it was noted in small print on a smartphone that spaces are limited, so come early. It was mentioned that there is guidance for nearby parking, but no one informed me. In the end, I went to a reliable Shinjuku department store parking and took a taxi to the hotel. A little more ingenuity in the signage would be helpful. - Private Conversations: Other reviewers also gave harsh evaluations, but during my stay, while waiting for a taxi in the lobby after checkout, 2-3 hotel staff nearby were having private conversations. I ignored it, thinking, "There are customers right here." Is it appropriate for a hotel that prides itself on luxury to have break-room-like conversations in a space with customers? It's like customers are paying for a sloppy environment. Whispering in a low voice surprisingly echoes in a wide lobby and can be heard by customers, so I think they should be careful. The access is poor, so I drove there, found it full, ended up having to take a taxi, and was in a space with staff having private conversations during the wait. I probably won't go again. It's a shame that the good work of other diligent staff members is being wasted.

For my daughter's birthday
I gifted a one-night stay for my daughter and mother for my daughter's birthday. They were very pleased, saying it was extremely clean and well-maintained, and they enjoyed a quiet time while looking at the garden. I heard that my daughter was very happy with the unlimited salmon roe at breakfast, eating a lot, and I'm glad I gave them this gift. I would also like to stay there once.

Not highly recommended.
I stayed here for the first time in a while. I stayed for consecutive nights. I was aware of the poor access from before, but my previous impression was that everything else was very good. It seems to me that the quality of service has declined endlessly. Especially at the front desk. I thought they had a talent for irritating people. Overall, it feels like an average City Hotel. When searching for accommodations on Ikkyu, it might be worth it if it's extremely cheaper than other high-class hotels, but otherwise, it's safer to choose another option. There are no advantages to choosing this hotel.

The atmosphere and decor of the hotel are very nice, but
I have used this place several times. The room feels very nice and, unlike the recent simple interiors, it feels very luxurious. The amenities are also well-equipped. There are drinks in the refrigerator, which I think sets it apart from recent hotels in that regard. The unfortunate part is that it takes time during checkout. It would be fine if there is nothing to settle, but if you drink from the refrigerator or use the restaurant, it takes a lot of time to settle the bill. I'm not sure why, but it seems to take time to operate the computer. When you have called a taxi and it's waiting, it makes you a bit anxious. I would appreciate it if this process could be improved.

Impressed by the high-grade hospitality
Even though it was past 10:00 PM when I checked in, it was indeed the Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo. The check-in procedure at the concierge desk was conducted while seated, and I was greeted with, "Thank you for your hard work until late. Please take your time and relax." This relieved my fatigue.
