    We stayed here for a family trip.

    We stayed here for a trip with two families. They prepared two Rooms on the same floor, which made it easy to go back and forth. Everyone was surprised by the welcome sweets, and we really enjoyed them. There were many comfortable spaces throughout the building—the overall atmosphere, the front desk area, and the large public bath—so we were able to relax and take our time during our stay. The kids were very happy because they could play on the sandy beach right next door. It seems like it would be even more enjoyable in summer. We would definitely like to stay here again.

    It’s pretty average.

    The food was average. I was hoping for sashimi, but it was a bit disappointing. The staff’s hospitality, the Facility, and the location were great. Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji didn’t show itself that day as I had hoped, but it’s very close to Izu-Nagaoka Station and I was able to relax.

    Our family of seven, including preschool-aged children, stayed here. We are grateful for the warm hospitality and thoughtful care from everyone, including the person in charge. The food was delicious and left both our stomachs and hearts full. The Accommodation was very clean throughout, and we felt truly comfortable.     A Ryokan Like an Art Museum

    Beautiful paintings are displayed on the Ryokan’s corridor walls, and you’ll see one right in front of you when you step out of the elevator. Many of the artists were names I recognized. On the first floor, there is a space where paintings are exhibited and you can relax and chat while enjoying coffee or tea. I love viewing art, so it felt like visiting a museum for free. The service was excellent, and the meals were delicious with just the right portions. When I mentioned that I have back problems, they arranged a table and chairs for in-room dining. You can also see Mt. Fuji beside Awashima. The sea was clear and beautiful with high transparency. It was much less crowded than places like Atami, making it easy to get around comfortably.

    I was impressed by the excellent service.

    The staff’s professionalism and strong service mindset made for a truly comfortable stay. From guiding our car on arrival and arranging parking, to attentive meal service and front desk support, everything was excellent and very pleasant. The meals—ingredients, tableware, presentation, and preparation—reflected the chef’s thoughtful care and conveyed the refined quality of a long-established Ryokan. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to stay at again.

    Delicious meals

    On our way home from Nishi-Izu, we were able to stay at Shoto-kan, which had caught our interest. They offered a course where you can enjoy a meal paired with sake tastings from the Izu Peninsula, so we were really looking forward to it. With a total of five types of sake, the Japanese cuisine went down easily and we had a wonderful time. We heard there are other sakes that pair well with the meals, so next time we’d like to visit again in a different season.

    A Wonderful Stay

    We stayed here to celebrate a family birthday. We were truly moved to see beautiful Mt. Fuji from everywhere—the Room, the bath, and the front desk! It is a historic Accommodation, yet everything was spotless, and the Onsen was wonderful. Each dish was delicious, and even though we were full, we finished both dinner and breakfast. The artworks displayed throughout the building, including the first-floor salon, were also well worth seeing. Everything about our stay was satisfying, but in particular, the male staff member who took care of us at breakfast and dinner had an amazing smile and such thoughtful hospitality that we even talked about it later as a family: “We’re so glad he was in charge!” Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. It had been a while since our last family trip, but thanks to you we had a wonderful time.

    We celebrated my mot...

    We celebrated my mother's birthday here. Upon arriving by Shuttle Service, we were promptly guided to our Room, and the welcome pudding was absolutely delicious. During dinner, not only was there a birthday cake but also red rice and commemorative gifts, which deeply touched my mother and made it an unforgettable celebration for her. The colorful and satisfying meals for both breakfast and dinner, the clean and serene atmosphere of the Room, the breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji, and the relaxing Onsen—all left a lasting impression on us. The staff members were incredibly kind, especially our room attendant, ensuring we had a comfortable stay without any inconvenience. Thanks to everyone’s hospitality, this trip became a truly memorable experience filled with happiness. We would love to visit again in the future. Thank you very much!

    Family Trip

    This was our first time staying here for a family trip, and we chose a special room. The room was very spacious, clean, and featured large glass windows offering stunning views of the ocean and Mount Fuji—an incredible location! We had informed the staff in advance about concerns regarding my elderly mother's mobility, and they made thoughtful accommodations throughout the accommodation, allowing us to stay with peace of mind. Both the private bath and public baths, including the open-air bath, were clean and very relaxing. I especially remember how breathtaking the scenery was during our morning visit—it left such a lasting impression. The meals were excellent as well. Being close to the sea meant that seafood lovers like us were in heaven! Even the men in our group were completely satisfied with their full stomachs. Lastly, I must mention that "Yamamusuhi," a snack provided in our room, was so delicious that we’ve continued purchasing it even after returning home—it’s now one of my favorites!

    Thank you very much for taking care of my parents during their stay. They were delighted to have been blessed with good weather and to enjoy the stunning view of Mount Fuji from the Room and bath. The staff's efficient service also left a positive impression on them. The meals were well-portioned and delicious, which they appreciated. Receiving gold and silver plates as souvenirs became a wonderful keepsake for them. It had been difficult to arrange a trip due to my parents' schedules, but when the dates were finally set, we searched for a place with views of Mount Fuji as my mother wished, and we found your establishment.     The Best Service and Environment

    We stayed at this accommodation because my mother wanted a place with a view of Mt. Fuji. As I have an allergy to green onions, I informed the staff, and they carefully prepared separate meals for me without any mix-ups during serving. It was very helpful. The view was perfect, and the meals had just the right flavor and portion size.

    Special Room?

    Stayed in the best room. Although I arrived a bit early and was met with an unpleasant reaction from bell service or male staff, all the female staff provided excellent and pleasant service throughout. The training by the proprietress seems to be consistently good. The meals were a mix of Japanese and Western styles, with great content, and breakfast had a traditional Ryokan feel which was delightful. I usually stay at Ryokans costing around 150,000 to 300,000 yen, but the attention to detail in customer service here was truly impressive. The room had an Onsen bath; however, it seemed to be a circulation system rather than free-flowing spring water? If it were free-flowing Onsen water, it would have been perfect. There was a slight chlorine smell that stood out—understandable for disinfection purposes as high temperatures can promote bacteria growth... Still, this is such a wonderful Ryokan that I would love to visit again!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    Although we couldn't see Mount Fuji, which we were most looking forward to due to the rain, we were deeply relaxed by the staff's attentive service, delicious cuisine, and the Onsen. The baths alternate daily between men and women, allowing guests to enjoy both. The side with the open-air cypress bath was particularly wonderful. One disappointment was that alcohol was not available for purchase at the shop or vending machines, and it wasn't clear if it could be ordered through room service. We had hoped to enjoy a quiet drink in our Room in the evening.

    Excellent

    I had a stay that exceeded my expectations. Despite arriving early, I was warmly welcomed. The hospitality was perfectly balanced, the meals were impeccable, and I was deeply touched to receive a birthday gift. The cleanliness of the entire property was outstanding, leaving me completely satisfied. Above all, I was amazed by the numerous masterpieces casually displayed throughout the facility. It felt like a luxury to enjoy coffee while admiring paintings in a lounge reminiscent of an art museum. The only regret is that I couldn't see Mount Fuji this time, but I will definitely return again!

    Stayed with an infan...

    Stayed with an infant. We were provided with items such as a baby bottle sterilizer, bouncer, and baby bedding. The staff's thoughtfulness and attentive service were very comforting and rejuvenating.

    It had a calm and serene atmosphere.

    This was our first stay. The room with an ocean view offered a great scenery, and we could even faintly see Mt. Fuji, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Since I was traveling with my elderly mother, I chose accommodation with a private bath in the room instead of using the public bath for safety reasons. After reviewing many photos of accommodations in Izu, we decided on this one. The private bath in the room felt more like an indoor bath, which was slightly disappointing. However, what bothered us more was the strong chlorine smell that lingered on our bodies even after bathing. We reported this issue to the staff at the accommodation. My mother eventually gave up on using the private bath and tried out the public bath instead. The hinoki (cypress) wood bathtub provided a very pleasant experience and left us satisfied. Since there is an alternating schedule for men’s and women’s baths, we used another section of the public baths in the morning; however, it had significant steps that required extra caution during use. While my mother expressed her wish to revisit during another season, it would be difficult for us to return unless improvements are made regarding the situation with the private bath—something we found quite unfortunate.

    Your First Family Trip with Your Baby

    Our first family trip with our 10-month-old. We chose this Accommodation because we have relatives in Numazu and wanted our baby’s first beach experience. It was even better than we imagined. Everyone was kind and the service was excellent. The artwork was wonderful. We’re glad we chose this place for our first trip. Thank you for patiently answering my detailed questions many times before our stay. There were other families with children, but the Accommodation is considerate, so noise wasn’t an issue. Many guests also came as two- or three-generation families, including older relatives. I think it’s enjoyable even without kids, but I’m writing this Review from the perspective of traveling with a baby. Our child was excited and happy the whole time. With a spacious tatami Room and a private dining room, he crawled around and explored a lot. They also had great baby amenities—baby futon, bouncer, baby soap, bottle sterilizer, baby bath, diaper pail, etc.—which made traveling much easier for us as parents. We traveled by train both ways and stayed 2 nights. If you’re traveling with children, I think staying 2 nights lets you relax more. To reduce luggage, we shipped diapers, bottles, and packaged baby food to the Ryokan in advance. From Tokyo Station you can take the Odoriko limited express directly to Izunagaoka Station without transfers. We arrived at 14:55 and were picked up at 15:00; they were waiting at the ticket gate so everything went smoothly. It’s very close to the Accommodation. The Accommodation is barrier-free (accessible), everything felt newly renovated—beautifully clean throughout. The open-air bath is spacious and relaxing with a view of Mt. Fuji. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Mt. Fuji had clouds over it during our stay so we couldn’t see it in full. Coffee is available 24 hours a day. Beer and soft drinks are also free on the second floor until 5:00 pm—great for relaxing. The next day we went to the beach right next to the Accommodation. There was some trash floating in the water and it wasn’t as clean as expected, which was a bit disappointing. Still, it wasn’t crowded and being so close to the Accommodation was convenient. Apparently there’s a very beautiful beach about 5 minutes away by car (but it gets so crowded on weekends that parking can be difficult). They also lend out flip-flops/shower sandals, which helped since we didn’t need to bring our own. For lunch we chose a restaurant across from the Accommodation; they have kids’ meals too, and since it has tatami seating it’s convenient with children. We ate seafood dishes there—next time I’ll probably try somewhere else. Locals told us that the aquarium next door also has kid-friendly features and is good for children. We’d like to stay here again next year—maybe with a rental car next time.”

    We stayed here for our 3rd anniversary. The food was delicious, the view was beautiful, and the staff at the Ryokan were wonderful. It was our first time visiting Izu from Osaka, and it became a truly memorable experience. The anniversary gift was also very cute and is now one of my favorites. We will visit again!

    It was the best anniversary ever.

    We stayed at the accommodation as a family to celebrate my mother's 88th birthday. The view of Mt. Fuji from the lounge and the room was absolutely stunning. We were delighted with the welcome drinks and pudding. The staff's thoughtfulness and hospitality were truly heartfelt. They even prepared an outfit, red rice, and a gift for my mother, which made her very happy. The meals were also delicious. Thank you for allowing us to have such a wonderful time.     Breathtaking views and attentive service.

    Even though we arrived early before check-in, we were kindly allowed to wait in the lobby without any issues. The car was taken care of with valet service, and for the welcome drink, we could choose from beer, coffee, and more—unlimited refills! From the lobby, there was a stunning view of Mt. Fuji! We were also allowed into our room a bit earlier than expected. Feeling tired, my spouse and I booked massages and felt completely rejuvenated by the treatment. There was even a massage chair available with another breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji! The location offered absolutely spectacular scenery. The meals were creative Japanese cuisine and very delicious. During dinner, the Ryokan surprised us with celebratory red rice and a plate featuring an illustration of Mt. Fuji as gifts—we were deeply touched by this thoughtful gesture. The hospitality was excellent overall; however, there was one small issue—the water pressure in our room's shower wasn’t great, and there wasn’t enough hot water flow despite having such a modern shower room setup—it felt like such a waste. That said, the incredible views of Mt. Fuji from the large public bath truly healed us both physically and mentally. Overall, it was an amazing experience that left us fully satisfied—thank you so much!

    The pinnacle of Japanese hospitality

    During Golden Week, after much deliberation considering potential traffic, I decided on this accommodation. It was the perfect choice. Prior to our stay, we received a call inquiring about food preferences. Although I mentioned it wasn't an allergy and might not be accommodated, they went above and beyond to consider my preferences, for which I am truly grateful. From the moment we arrived at the accommodation, valet service was provided, and we were smoothly guided to our room—instantly relieving travel fatigue. The welcome drink service was a delightful touch. The room offered three types of snacks along with tea leaves and water services. The view of Mt. Fuji from the room was absolutely stunning! The private bath in the room was clean with well-prepared amenities—completely satisfying! The large public bath included both indoor and outdoor baths with all necessary amenities such as towels and toothbrushes readily available as well. After bathing, complimentary water, ice cream, and even massage chairs were provided—a perfect score for service! Meals were elegantly seasoned; every dish was deliciously prepared. The attendant who served us during meals was graceful and kind; their timing in bringing out each dish was impeccable. In-room yukata robes and samue outfits were perfectly sized for us—a thoughtful preparation indeed! By chance, it happened to be my birthday month during our stay; they even gave me a lovely gift. Enjoying a semi-open-air bath while gazing at the magnificent Mt. Fuji from our room made this experience unforgettable in every way. I would love to return again someday with someone special to share this wonderful accommodation. Thank you very much!

    Wedding Anniversary

    The weather was great, and Mount Fuji provided a beautiful backdrop for a wonderful anniversary celebration. We truly appreciated the attentive service and hospitality of the staff. As elderly guests, we found the dinner portions to be quite large, but the delicious mountain and sea delicacies made it very satisfying. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

    The Ryokan is known for its excellent hospitality, and every staff member provided heartfelt and pleasant service. The Room offered a stunning view of Mt. Fuji, and the welcome drinks, including free beer, were a delightful touch. The incense in the Room had such a wonderful fragrance that I wanted to purchase it; although it was not for sale, the Ryokan staff kindly searched their stock and sold it to me, which deeply moved me. Thank you for your hospitality! One minor disappointment was during breakfast—while the luxurious side dishes made us enjoy our meal thoroughly, we ran out of rice in the container. Although we could have called out ourselves, being in a private room made it slightly difficult to do so. It would have been appreciated if this could be checked earlier.

    Unfortunately, we couldn't see Mount Fuji from the Room due to the rain, but we were very well taken care of. The food was not overly extravagant but simply delicious and satisfying. The sake was delightful, and the beer was exceptionally tasty—thank you for serving it so well. The art pieces displayed throughout the Ryokan were enjoyable to view on their own. If we visit the Higashi-Izu area again, we would love to stay here once more. On a personal note, having charging facilities would be very helpful as it allows for peace of mind when planning activities for the next day (a 5kW charger is sufficient; no need for fast charging).

    Kids-Friendly & Stunning View

    Excellent stay with delicious food and a stunning view. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Just a short walk to Izu Mito Sea Paradise, which is perfect for children. Overall, the ryokan is very child-friendly; our child loved the food, the hot spring, and the aquarium. Highly recommended for families with kids.

    Unfortunately, due to the rain, we could only see part of Mt. Fuji this time. However, we were very satisfied with the warm hospitality of the staff and the delicious meals that were more than enough to enjoy. We plan to visit again on a day with better weather. Thank you for your care!
