We are proud of our Onsen, with a spring flow rate of 512 liters per minute and rich in metasilicic acid.

Simply soak in the hot spring and gaze at the sky. That alone will leave you feeling fulfilled—this is an Accommodation for exactly that. Welcome to Hotarakashi no Yado. Enjoy it in your own way. “Takaogen-sen,” a natural hot spring rising in Nasu’s quiet forest, is a sulfur spring known for its skin-beautifying qualities. It warms you from the core, leaving your skin soft and radiant after your bath. Surrounded by tranquility, enjoy a luxurious moment as both mind and skin gently unwind.

  • I visited with my mother, who loves sulfur hot springs. It was a wonderful accommodation. Thank you very much.

  • I have stayed at Nasu Shiobara six times a year so far (each time a Multiple Night Stay of 6 nights). This is my impression after comparing Nasu Shiobara and Nasu Takao. Please note that my comments on Nasu Shiobara reflect the situation as of last October. For the baths, Nasu Shiobara has a large public bath and an open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water. The water temperature is 42°C. At Nasu Takao, only the large open-air bath (large open-air pool) is free-flowing, and it is a lukewarm 37°C. It feels a bit cold at this time of year. Bathing wear is required. The indoor large public bath and the adjacent open-air bath are recirculated and set to 42°C.You can bring your own food. What the Hotel provides: at Nasu Shiobara there are four types of frozen bento meals; at Nasu Takao, in addition to bento meals, there are also items like frozen bread, so you don’t get bored. As for the building, Nasu Shiobara looks almost unchanged from before rebranding and feels worn out. At Nasu Takao, despite being the same rebrand, it seems they replaced tatami mats and wallpaper and also updated toilets and other fixtures. For cleaning during a Multiple Night Stay: at Nasu Takao, Room cleaning is free on the 4th day; if requested separately under normal circumstances it costs 1,500 yen. There’s a high chance that Nasu Shiobara has adopted the same policy starting this year. For snacks, both offer DIY mitarashi dango (300 yen for two skewers). At Nasu Takao there are also DIY roasted marshmallow sweets. The shop has a wider selection at Nasu Takao, while at Nasu Shiobara it’s almost nonexistent. In any case, I like their “hands-off” style service, so I plan to continue using both Facility locations alternately in the future.
