Haimurubushi is located on Kohama Island, at the heart of the Yaeyama Islands, about 400 km southwest of Okinawa’s main island, within Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park—Japan’s first designated Dark Sky Park. The newly introduced Oceanfront Pool Villas offer dramatic views of Iriomote Island, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, through an expansive window approximately 10 meters wide.   • Everything was simply wonderful.

    The breathtaking, heaven-like scenery was the most beautiful of any resort I have ever visited. The Room was spacious, and even with three adults we felt no inconvenience at all. We also truly enjoyed the horseback riding activity my 77-year-old mother had been hoping for. The weather wasn’t on our side and it stayed cloudy throughout, but we still enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Above all, every staff member provided heartfelt service, which made us feel warmly cared for. An extra highlight was the delightful visit from a cute cat to our Room terrace—irresistible for cat lovers. We will definitely return during a season with better weather. Thank you very much for everything.

  • Relaxing Resort

    Surrounded by friendly, smiling staff, we truly enjoyed a comfortable resort stay.We arrived in the rain, but it cleared up at night!! We were very satisfied to see the Southern Cross beautifully from our Room terrace.The next day was cloudy, but still sunny! We explored around and enjoyed the beach as well.With so much nature, we had a wonderful time.

Oceanfront Pool Villa

On July 15, 2026, we will introduce eight new rooms: Oceanfront Pool Villas.

The “Oceanfront Pool Villa,” overlooking Iriomote Island—a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site—sits on an elevated spot offering the most beautiful sunsets on the property. From the terrace, enjoy the sparkling blue sea by day, watch the sun set behind Iriomote’s silhouette in the evening, and end your night beneath a sky full of stars—savoring every change in light and time. The villa features warm interiors crafted with natural materials that blend with the surrounding scenery. Its layout is designed so you can take in stunning views from anywhere in the room—whether from the bed, dining table, or bathroom. The terrace includes a private pool with cooling in summer and heating in winter. Two adjacent villas can also be connected via an interior door, making it ideal for multi-generational family trips or stays with friends. A stay that lets you savor time itself alongside breathtaking views brings Haimurubushi’s concept to life: “Happy no matter what you do—and happy even when you do nothing.”

In July 2025, two infinity pools and a wellness area will open beside the Hotel beach. A two-tier “Main Pool” located close to the shoreline of the natural beach and an adults-only “Quiet Pool” with exceptional views will be newly added. The Quiet Pool will be heated, making it available during winter as well. (During winter (December–February), the heated pool will be open for children for limited hours. The sauna is available to guests aged 16 and over.)

The lobby, lounge, and restaurant have been completely transformed with a design and service that let you experience the rich natural beauty of Yaeyama even more.

The Center House (formerly the Center Building), which welcomes all guests, will undergo a full interior renovation in July 2025. A new Library Lounge will open, where staying guests can relax in their own way and enjoy live stage performances. The restaurant area will be renewed into two venues: the buffet restaurant “The Buffet,” offering a generous selection of Western, Japanese, and Okinawan cuisine, and the grill restaurant “The Steak & Grill,” featuring Okinawa-produced meats and a wide variety of seafood. Surrounded by Kohama Island’s rich natural beauty, the dining space has been reborn as chic yet bright and vibrant.

  • Quiet Pool

    Notice of Temporary Closure of the Quiet Pool for Maintenance (December 7–11, 2026)

    Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Haimurubushi.
    At our resort, we place great importance on regular maintenance so that guests can always enjoy a fresh and comfortable Facility environment. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but we will be conducting water replacement and cleaning of the Quiet Pool during the period below.
    Unfortunately, this period overlaps with the winter closure of the Main Pool, Garden Pool, and the beach. Therefore, all pool Facilities within the resort and swimming at the beach will be unavailable.
    We deeply regret any disappointment this may cause to guests who are looking forward to spending time by the water. We appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation as we work to provide an even more comfortable Facility environment.


    1. Maintenance Area: Quiet Pool
    　*The pool will be drained (no water).

    2. Maintenance Period: Monday, December 7, 2026 – Friday, December 11, 2026

    Since our grand reopening on July 15, 2025, we have been honored to welcome a great many guests. We sincerely appreciate your support.

    As part of our ongoing efforts to further enhance our services and Facilities, we will be carrying out an on-site expansion project to construct a new accommodation building.

    The construction site for the new accommodation building is located at a sufficient distance from the existing Accommodation and main shared Facilities. Therefore, we expect the impact on your stay during the construction period (particularly noise and vibration) to be extremely minimal.

    We understand that some inconvenience may occur during the construction period; however, we will take every precaution to ensure safety and will work to minimize any impact on our guests while proceeding with safety as our top priority. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
