Japan’s first full-scale mountain resort, a landmark of Kamikochi steeped in history

Kamikochi, once known as the sacred land of Kamikawachi, remains unchanged in its natural beauty. The Kamikochi Imperial Hotel continues to captivate visitors with its breathtaking surroundings. The pristine Azusa River, the majestic Hotaka Mountains, and the serene Myojin Pond... Spending time amidst the harmonious changes of the seasons is truly the ultimate luxury.

  • I visited during my childhood and stayed again with my son. It was our first time experiencing the autumn season in Kamikochi, and we were captivated by the beautiful fall foliage and enjoyed trekking. Both my son and I became huge fans of the veal cutlet, so much so that we had it for dinner two nights in a row. We were delighted to celebrate my son's birthday with your unparalleled hospitality.

  • I have stayed at the Kamikochi Imperial Hotel several times and am always impressed by the large number of staff. While this may not be ideal from a cost perspective for hotel management, it is certainly appreciated from a guest's point of view. This time, I stayed on November 12th, close to the hotel's closing date for the season, which might explain why there were more staff present. However, during my previous stays in May and October, even with fewer staff members, I did not feel that the service level was lacking. This is a hotel located in a tourist area; however, unlike other hotels in this region, its lobby is very calm and serene. Perhaps this is because general dining guests tend to use the Alpenrose restaurant and do not frequent the lobby area much. The room design, furnishings, amenities—all were excellent—and I had an extremely comfortable stay. The meals were French cuisine with intricate ingredients and preparation methods that made them enjoyable. The roast beef came with an option for seconds; I happily had another full slice. This time’s dessert was highly elaborate in composition and brought great joy to my wife as well.
