It is in a very convenient location near Takayama Jinya, and free parking is also available.As it was right in the middle of the Hina Matsuri season, both the Hotel and the main building were decorated with many hina dolls, from old ones such as Goten-bina and Kyoho-bina to newly made dolls, which we really enjoyed.The seasonal kaiseki dinner was delicious, and even the tableware was thoroughly themed around hina dolls, making it an amazing experience.The Room had a river view that let us feel the atmosphere of the old townscape, and the Onsen bath was very relaxing.The staff were kind as well—this is a Ryokan I would recommend.

Friends told us, “If you choose Hiranoya, you’ll have the best trip!” so we made a Reservation.After we booked, you contacted us by email, and your kind, polite, and friendly message turned our nervousness into excitement about staying with you. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality when you looked after our luggage and again at check-in.The Room was clean and spacious, and it made us so happy to be able to gaze all day at the view we’d been dreaming of—the red bridge, the river, and the snow-capped mountains. The sunrise in the morning was also absolutely beautiful!Since it was a night with heavy snowfall, we didn’t go to Relax Kura, but the bath in the annex was always spotless and comfortable, and we were able to soak in total relaxation.Every meal—dinner and breakfast—was delicious! We planned to eat lightly because we were going to the morning market, but everything tasted so good that we couldn’t hold back and ended up completely full (haha). It was my first time trying Nitakumoji, but it became a favorite—and I even bought some miso to take home.The original Sarubobo chopstick rest was too cute as well; I was thrilled that I could purchase one. It became my favorite souvenir from our Takayama trip!To everyone who took care of us: thank you truly from start to finish. You were kind, friendly, and fun—and it left a strong impression on us that not only we but also other guests around us were smiling and enjoying their time.Hiranoya is a wonderful Ryokan where everyone feels brighter and happier. Introduction of the Accommodation
Room
All Rooms are designed in a serene traditional Japanese style, with sizes of 10 or 12 tatami mats. There are 24 river-side Rooms overlooking the clear Miyagawa River. Enjoy a relaxing time while listening to the gentle flow of the stream.
Onsen and bath
Step outside from Tsukiakari no Yu to find the open-air bath for men. During the day, enjoy stunning views of the Hida Mountain Range, including Mount Hotaka, and at night, bask under a sky full of stars and breathtaking night scenery. A sauna is also available.
Restaurant
In March 2023, the private dining restaurant [Matsuribayashi] opened. As the name suggests, it is themed around the Takayama Festival, one of Japan's three major beautiful festivals, and features traditional crafts such as Hida furniture and Hida dyeing for a unique dining experience for dinner and breakfast.
