I stayed at an Accommodation renovated from a traditional old house, which has been becoming more common recently. This type of Accommodation often doesn’t include dinner, and I’d tended to avoid it because I worried about finding somewhere to eat, but this time the deciding factor was that dinner was included. There are four Accommodations in town, and we stayed in the building with the reception desk and restaurant. It was very convenient because we could relax in our Room right after the meal. Guests staying at the other facilities seem to have shuttle service, but for those who want to unwind immediately after dinner, I think KANMURI’s facility is especially well suited. Of course, each one has its own charm, and it made me want to try staying at the other locations as well. The food focused on local ingredients, and it was also memorable that the staff explained everything so carefully. Thanks to their kind service, we were able to enjoy our meal comfortably. If I had one concern, it would be that the hot water in the bath didn’t flow very strongly. Since the bathtub is fairly large, it took quite a long time to fill. Even after more than an hour it still didn’t feel full enough, and because there’s no reheating function, it may be a bit difficult to take another bath later. Overall, it was a wonderful Accommodation where we could enjoy the unique atmosphere of an old house while taking our time over a great meal.

My wife and I stayed here together. The food was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the unique flavors made with locally sourced vegetables, wild mountain plants, free-range chicken, and eggs from Yamazoe Village, as well as products from local tofu and soy sauce makers—something you can only experience here. Many rural mountain communities are facing depopulation, but this stay reminded us that there are so many wonderful things found only in places like this. We arrived a bit late and were disappointed to miss the sauna we had been looking forward to. We would love to visit again.

The Hotel is in a very convenient location, close to the station, convenience stores, and the castle. There is ample parking in front of and next to the Hotel, and even if it is full, partner parking appears to be available, which is reassuring. For meals, I had the Hanakago set meal; it looked great and tasted excellent, and I was able to enjoy it at a relaxed pace in the spacious dining area. The room was kept very clean, and unlike a cramped unit bath, both the bathtub and toilet were spacious and comfortable to use. Above all, both the Hotel staff and housekeeping staff greeted me with wonderful smiles and friendly conversation. They also accommodated my room requests, allowing me to spend a truly comfortable stay.

The meals were delicious. The coffee service was also helpful. Although it is an artificial Onsen, it warmed my body and allowed me to relax.

It was a cozy and nice accommodation. Although the building itself was not new, it was clean and well-maintained. Above all, I was very satisfied with the staff's hospitality and the food. If I have the chance, I would like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

This time, I stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room for two nights. The Deluxe Room comes with a large TV and cosmetics. I recall there used to be a coffee maker in the room, but it seems it's no longer available. On the second night, as I opted out of cleaning service, towels and other items, including coffee bags, were left outside my room. Although there was no coffee maker, the provided coffee bags were specific ones. However, they were close to their expiration date and remained unused. I appreciated the gesture nonetheless. While there are minor points to note, the consistent hospitality and continuous improvements are truly pleasant. Looking forward to staying again!

Conveniently located, with many restaurants nearby for dinner. The breakfast buffet was also satisfying. I was disappointed to find that the entire property has recently become non-smoking.

A year ago, due to heavy rain, we had to cancel our stay. Amid the lingering summer heat, we revisited after a year. This time, we had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful accommodation for one day. Renting an entire house with a view of Nara's mountains as the backdrop to the dry landscape garden, enjoying an evening beer was the perfect way to conclude summer. For dinner, there was a variety of alcoholic beverages available, and the shabu-shabu by the hearth was absolutely delicious. At night, gazing at a sky full of stars marked the end of our day. Knowing that this accommodation is run by your family made it feel very warm and welcoming during our stay. It was such happiness to spend a day doing nothing but relaxing peacefully— a truly special experience at Sasayuri-an. Thank you so much! We will definitely return again!

I stayed here in March. Thank you for letting me park in the lot before check-in, helping with the check-in process, and even storing my luggage. Thanks to you, I was able to enjoy an easy walk around Akame Falls. The Onsen was also wonderful—my skin felt so smooth afterward. After the bath, I also enjoyed the welcome drink service, and it was truly a relaxing time. Both dinner and breakfast looked great and tasted excellent—I couldn’t have asked for more. It was an amazing stay, and the one night/two days went by in no time. Thank you so much to all the staff. Next time, I’d like to visit in autumn to see the fall foliage—though it might be crowded. I had the pleasure of revisiting the enchanting Sasayuri-an. After an unforgettable experience at "Kozuno," this time I stayed in another building, "Zao." About a month ago, I was fortunate to connect with Sasayuri-an and was deeply touched by the warmth of the owners. Since then, I eagerly anticipated my return. My expectations were high due to my previous wonderful stay, but this visit exceeded them in every way. The moment we stepped inside, everyone let out a gasp of awe—it felt like stepping into another world. This 150-year-old traditional thatched-roof house is a perfect blend of historical beauty and modern comfort, truly a hidden gem. The stunning terraced rice fields visible through the windows and the star-filled night sky created an extraordinary atmosphere. The space is both majestic and refined yet evokes a nostalgic sense of comfort. Above all, the exceptional hospitality from the owners provided deep relaxation. The owner's passion for detail is evident everywhere—from beams relocated from a 400-year-old structure to speakers once used by Ryuichi Sakamoto—making every conversation with him fascinating and inspiring. Despite visiting in February's cold weather, thoughtful touches like fireplaces, discreetly placed air conditioners that preserve aesthetic harmony, and oil heaters along hallways ensured warmth throughout this spacious accommodation. The owner also practices as a Yamabushi (mountain ascetic) alongside managing his business. During our stay, we had rare opportunities to experience waterfall meditation and fire rituals under his guidance while enjoying stories about Shugendo around an irori hearth—a truly memorable experience! Evenings were spent chatting by irori flames or soaking in herbal baths within cypress tubs to unwind completely; mornings began with delicious coffee paired with breathtaking views of Japan’s timeless rural landscape—a blissful retreat indeed. Sasayuri-an offers an unparalleled escape from urban chaos where both mind and body can rejuvenate fully—a genuinely special place worth cherishing forever! Although we rarely revisit accommodations multiple times ourselves here feels different; it’s somewhere precious enough always wanting return alongside loved ones again someday soon! With facilities such as pizza ovens BBQ setups campfire areas ready springtime glamping plans already excite us looking forward next visit ahead!

We stayed with our child using Child Sharing Existing Bedding, and it was great that towels and a toothbrush were also provided for our child. It was also helpful for our budget to stay at a reasonable price with breakfast included.

I had a comfortable stay. It’s not luxurious, but it feels like a compact and smart Hotel. The Simmons bed made for a great night’s sleep.
