HOTEL MAZARIUM

As the title suggests, it’s a bit more expensive than nearby Accommodation, but considering the delicious breakfast, the cleanliness of the Facility, and that admission to the on-site public bath is included, it feels like great value. The location is also very convenient—right in the city center and connected to the bus terminal—and the male staff member who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. The Room was very clean, perhaps because it’s still fairly new. The shower water pressure was slightly weak, but within an acceptable range.

As this was almost my first time staying in Morioka, I was worried about how to get to the Hotel. However, the Hotel is located above the bus terminal and there is also a loop bus, so there was nothing to worry about. The front desk staff were courteous at both check-in and check-out. They told me how to get to a shop I wanted to visit (HERALBONY) and about special perks, and also gave me advice on how to enjoy my stay at the Hotel. When I stay at a Hotel, I usually can’t sleep well—maybe because the bed or linens don’t suit me—but at this Hotel I slept soundly. The loungewear was comfortable as well. The breakfast made with ingredients from Iwate was delicious too. Next time, I’d like to stay in a Room designed by an artist participating in HERALBONY. *I’m giving “5 stars” because although the Hotel has an Onsen, I didn’t use it. The Room has only a shower, but that wasn’t a problem.*
