Kyoto Garden Palace

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. It couldn’t be more convenient for sightseeing at the Kyoto Imperial Palace Park. It takes less than 10 minutes one way to go pick up same-day tickets for Sento Imperial Palace and the like, and it was a big help to be able to bring everything back to the Room and take a bath—whether I was drenched in sweat in summer, chilled to the bone in winter, or caught in the rain. The Plan I used included a 1:00 p.m. check-out, so after breakfast I could stroll around the park, take my time visiting Sento Imperial Palace and Kyoto Imperial Palace, then return to the Room for a short rest before checking out. Breakfast (both Western and Japanese) was satisfying in both taste and portion size. From my Room I could see the “Dai” character on Mt. Daimonji (though it might not be visible in summer because of the leaves).

Every year during the New Year holidays, I used to travel, but this year I had no plans. Suddenly decided to go and made a Hotel Reservation. Affordable with an excellent location. Close to the bistro "Cheese Plus," run by my grandson as a chef, and I got to meet him. Kyoto was the capital for about 1,074 years from 794 (Heian-kyo establishment) to 1868 (Meiji Restoration). On the other hand, Tokyo has been the capital for about 158 years from 1868 until now (2026). Comparing them, Kyoto's history is overwhelmingly longer—no wonder it's called "The Thousand-Year Capital"! It was amazing in front of the Imperial Palace. Thank you for everything!
