Senkei-en Tsukioka Hotel

We stayed here for our once-a-year family trip. We also stayed last year, and because we loved the wide variety and great taste of the buffet, we came back again.This year’s buffet was excellent as well. There were fresh sashimi, freshly fried tempura, and even simmered carp—everything was fantastic. There was steak too, and since I’m pregnant I asked if it could be cooked well-done if possible; they kindly accommodated my request, which made me very happy. The staff in the buffet area were also friendly and helpful with warm smiles—everyone was truly wonderful.Many Accommodations have great dinners, but this one also has a delicious breakfast. There were beef bowls, onigiri made to order on the spot, omelets, and more—everything was really tasty.The Onsen was great too; the open-air bath is free-flowing from the source and felt wonderful. This is an Accommodation that makes you want to come back. We’d love to stay again for our family trip next year as well.

This was my first visit to Kaminoyama Onsen in 20 years, and I stayed here because the Ryokan has started offering a buffet.The Room is a traditional Japanese-style room fitted with beds.The dining area has been renovated from the former large banquet hall into a buffet venue.Overall, it felt like they are working hard on transforming both the Facility and their operations.With new Ryokan emerging and travel styles changing, it gave me the sense of seeing a model example of how large, traditional group-oriented Ryokan can adapt their business style.All in all, this is a Ryokan that is making many efforts and doing its best.Both the staff and the chefs were working hard as well.Thank you for taking care of us.
