Ibusuki Onsen Zekkei Rotenburo no Yado Ibusuki Royal Hotel

This was my first trip to Kagoshima and my first visit to Ibusuki. From arrival at the Ryokan to departure, everything about the stay was satisfying. The moment you step into the lobby, you are overwhelmed by the ocean view spreading out before you. Every staff member was courteous and attentive, which made me very happy. The baths were also wonderful—the open-air bath had an amazing view, and I used it many times during my stay. Having face towels always available also added greatly to the comfort. The complimentary drinks in the lobby, such as coffee and detox water, were excellent as well. The meals were extremely satisfying. All ingredients felt high quality, the flavors were truly top-class, and I enjoyed every dish. These days many Ryokan offer buffet-style dining, but here they intentionally did not serve buffets for either dinner or breakfast; instead they offered carefully selected dishes, which I really appreciated. Finally, the hostess’s warm smile as she greeted each table at dinner gave an exceptional sense of satisfaction. It was a very satisfying stay overall.

We stayed here this time with our eldest son’s family, all together. It was a trip to celebrate our second son’s university graduation, our grandchild’s kindergarten graduation, and the birthday of our grandchild who turns 2 this month. Since we checked in after my nephew’s wedding, it was already evening, so it was a shame—we could have enjoyed a walk around the garden if we had arrived a little earlier… The front desk and the Room were all spotless. I had imagined an old Hotel, but it was truly wonderful and very clean. Everywhere we went smelled pleasantly fragrant, which felt so comfortable and relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely excellent and delicious—we were completely full and everyone was very satisfied. We were also surprised by how luxurious the children’s meals were; it almost felt too good to be true. Thanks to you, it became a truly wonderful trip. It was such a lovely Hotel that next time we’d like to check in early and stay longer. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you to all the staff for your kind service with warm smiles.
