Hotel Rishiri

I stayed here the night before a business trip. In winter, Rishiri Island seems to be in the off-season, and I hardly saw any tourists.It’s a little over 10 km from the airport by rental car. Following the navigation, I arrived without any trouble and checked in. The front desk staff were kind, and check-in was smooth.Since it’s a seaside Hotel, you can hear the wind on cold winter days. When I entered my Room (a twin), it felt spacious, with a large desk—very relaxing. It was freezing outside, but the heating worked well inside and felt like a different world.Before getting some work done, I drove to Seicomart while it was still light to pick up dinner. It’s said to be a 7–8 minute walk, but only 1–2 minutes by car.After finishing work and dinner, it was time for the Onsen. The large public bath on the first floor is accessible in yukata from your Room (you do pass through the lobby). Inside, there’s a beautiful golden-colored bath waiting for you. The source is around 33°C, so it’s heated—perfect for warming up!I spent my stay thinking that this price is probably only possible because it’s the off-season.Even if it is off-season, snow-covered Mount Rishiri Fuji looks majestic and is well worth seeing.With good weather, Mount Rishiri Fuji + Onsen + Rishiri kelp ramen makes for a very satisfying trip. It’s a wonderful place—please enjoy your stay.
