It was very convenient, located just a few minutes’ walk from central attractions such as Matsumoto Castle, Nakamachi Street, and museums, and about a 10-minute walk to Matsumoto Station.\nIt was a small, clean Accommodation, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.\nIf staying in Matsumoto City, this is the Accommodation I would choose.

My parents stayed here on this occasion. We made a Reservation for a Room with meals and a great view of the Northern Alps. - They were delighted with the view and said they could clearly see the mountains of the Northern Alps. - The meal was the HAKKO course. While not flashy, every dish was truly delicious—my picky father praised it highly. My mother, who is also particular about taste, said it was excellent as well. - As they live in an Onsen area themselves, they felt the Onsen views were wonderful, but the water quality felt a bit squeaky on the skin and wasn’t quite to their liking. Overall, they were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

I love the waters of Asama Onsen and have visited many times. This time, I stayed at Umenoyu. The bath is indoor-only, but it was clean and well maintained, which I appreciated. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes and were very delicious. My Room was Western-style; it had been renovated, was spacious, and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly as well, making for an enjoyable stay.

We stayed here with a large group in January. First of all, the traditional kura-style building is truly one of a kind. It has been beautifully renovated to suit modern needs while preserving the charm of classic Japanese architecture. It’s even more impressive in person than in photos, and you can really enjoy the building itself—perfect for anyone who loves architecture. The living room feels incredibly open, and even with a big group it never felt cramped. The kitchen was surprisingly spacious, and it was stocked with more than enough cookware and appliances. There was also a great variety of tableware, all stylish, which made cooking even more enjoyable. The dishwasher in particular was large and high-performance, making cleanup easy even for a big group. There are multiple bedrooms as well, so everyone can rest comfortably. This Accommodation is ideal for the purpose of “staying together as a large group and relaxing.” Overall it’s very spacious, so we could spend time there without feeling self-conscious. We only ordered breakfast, but it was simple Japanese food and very delicious. For lunch and dinner we arranged our own meals—buying ingredients at nearby supermarkets (Tsuruya and AEON are conveniently close) and cooking ourselves—and that became part of the fun of the stay. With such well-equipped facilities, this place is especially recommended for those who enjoy cooking. Even though it was cold around New Year’s, the inside was warm and comfortable. The separate hinoki bathhouse was amazing; you heat the indoor bath yourself, but the scent of hinoki wood and the atmosphere were truly relaxing. There is also another bath in the main house (with a modern tub), which you can use as well—and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of underfloor heating in the changing area there. We were highly satisfied with everything—the space, facilities, and overall atmosphere—and would love to visit again in a different season.

I stayed here on a business trip. As it used to be Matsumoto Tokyu Inn, the Room is solidly built, so I could sleep without worrying about noise. Although the building has some age, the interior was very clean. I used the self check-in Facility for the first time. The air conditioning can be controlled in each Room, so you can set the temperature to your liking. I also liked the chair in the Room—it felt like it had a memory-foam cushion and was very comfortable to sit on. The bathroom in the Room is a good size and you can soak properly. One small thing I really liked was the length of the bath towel. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans, but this was the longest bath towel I’ve ever had. It made drying off feel great. This time I booked a Plan with free parking, which is great for business travelers and tourists. As for breakfast—which I had researched in advance—it exceeded my expectations. It uses plenty of local ingredients, and I ended up completely full and even skipped lunch. The French toast from a local bakery was moist, soft, and excellent. If there were whipped cream or ice cream as well, it would be unbeatable. (I’ve experienced that at Matsushima Ichinobo.) There were also two kinds of curry, handmade tofu, soba (surprisingly generous portions), oyaki dumplings, and sanzoku-yaki chicken—at 1,900 yen this is great value. I didn’t use it this time, but I was also interested in what looked like an izakaya-style restaurant on the first floor where you can enjoy gourmet dishes from The whole country.

The Alpine view from the Room was simply breathtaking! We stayed in a Superior Twin and loved the double-size beds, as well as the relaxing table area (sofa). The bathtub was also spacious, and there were bath salts, so we could truly unwind. We only had breakfast, but the rice porridge was delicious and very satisfying. It snowed the night before, so the mountain scenery was absolutely stunning—we would definitely like to return again at the same time next year.

After snowfall from the previous day, Matsumoto Castle was covered in a beautiful winter scene. We enjoyed a stroll through the charming castle town and then headed to the Hotel. Perhaps because of the local area, the soba at dinner was excellent, and we also really enjoyed the hot pot from the fair. The dining staff were especially pleasant: we were seated without waiting, clearing was quick and everything was kept clean. We are very grateful. Thank you. We also took a short walk around Asama Onsen town, visiting the drinking spring and Yakushiji Temple. The oshinko mochi from a nearby shop was delicious. Next time, I’d like to take my time and walk around more. Itoen Hotel is affordable and well located—this one as well. The Room was quiet, and the view from the large public bath on the top floor was outstanding. It turned into a wonderful trip. Thank you.

I stayed here recently to see the projection mapping at Matsumoto Castle. The location is very convenient as it is close to Matsumoto Castle, and the Hotel was clean. My Room was on the 1st floor, so I didn’t need to use the elevator, and since the bath was also on the 1st floor, it was very convenient. About 10 cm of snow fell in one day, and I could see a snow-covered Matsumoto Castle the next morning, which became a wonderful memory. The Hotel staff were kind and made my stay pleasant. It is not a luxury Hotel, but the Room interior and carpets were clean, there was hardly any noise, and we were able to relax as a couple. Asama Onsen may be small, but we enjoyed it at a comfortable water temperature and could take our time. The staff were also kind and left us with a very positive impression.

We gathered from various places to celebrate our elderly parent's birthday and stayed for one night. First, we relaxed together in the private bath while watching the clouds drift by. The specially prepared sparkling water was a delightful touch. The Onsen made us quite hungry, so we chose a small portion gourmet plan considering my mother, but it left us all fully satisfied. We were touched by the thoughtful celebration gesture from the accommodation, and the mulberry jam we purchased at the shop on our way home was delicious as well. During our stay, whether it was walking freely on the spacious tatami or feeling the warmth of the staff, there was always a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. Thank you very much!

We stayed at this Accommodation during our trip to Matsumoto as a couple. We were told that a larger Room than the one we had reserved was available, so we ended up staying there at short notice. The Room was clean and very comfortable. The unit bath was also very clean and well maintained. In the morning, we had a buffet at Gusto on the first floor. It was a fun experience—having a buffet at Gusto isn’t something you get to do very often. The food was delicious, and we ate plenty. When we stay in Matsumoto again, we would definitely like to use this Accommodation again.

They were very courteous and helpful. We packed our sightseeing schedule too tightly, so we didn’t have much time to spend at the Hotel—now I regret it. They also recommended nearby places for both lunch and dinner.

We stayed as a parent and child for my son’s university entrance exams. ■ Warm hospitality for exam takers At check-in, the staff asked, “Are you here for exams?” and gave us a small gift. My son, who was feeling nervous, seemed relieved by the thoughtful gesture, and I’m truly grateful as a parent. ■ Excellent amenities and a comfortable Room The amenity bar was well stocked—my son especially liked the bath salts and was able to relax. I also tried a face mask for the first time in my life! Even as an older guy (haha), it felt very refreshing after a bath. We were assigned a corner connecting Room, which allowed us to maintain privacy while still being close enough—making our stay extremely comfortable. ■ Great location It’s close to the station, with plenty of restaurants nearby, so we had no trouble at all even with a Plan without dinner. ■ A small suggestion for the future Winter in Matsumoto was drier than expected, so having hand cream among the amenities would make it even better! Thanks to the kindness of all the staff, my son was able to take his exam in great condition. We would definitely like to stay again when we visit Matsumoto. Thank you very much!

I stayed for one night with the No Meals Included plan. This is not specific to Comfort Hotel, but when traveling by car, business hotels in suburban areas where you don’t have to worry about parking are very reassuring. The amenities were more than sufficient, and since the loft bed is close to the ceiling, it stayed nicely warm with the heating and was more comfortable than expected. I would definitely like to stay again when traveling to Nagano.

The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The cleaning staff also greeted us politely, which was nice. Our Room was on the second floor, so I was worried about elevator congestion, but with two elevators available, there were no issues. I usually travel by car and don't worry about luggage, but this time I traveled by train. It was a great help that the Hotel stored my luggage after check-in and check-out without any hesitation or unpleasantness. We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room with a sofa where we could relax comfortably. The Room was clean and perfect in every way. Breakfast is free, so the variety might be limited... but since I don't eat much anyway, it wasn't an issue for me at all. My mother mentioned that the miso soup was delicious! The only thing I wished for was some furikake (seasoning). If I visit Matsumoto again, I would definitely stay at this Hotel!

We stayed as a three-generation family, including parents and children. The public bath and open-air bath, though not very large, were well-equipped and comfortable to use, providing a very pleasant bathing experience. The meals were all carefully prepared, extremely delicious, and highly satisfying. We are deeply grateful for the kind assistance of all the staff members. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

It was my first visit to Sugimoto in a while. The facility and rooms remain beautifully maintained. A calming, classic atmosphere. Delicious soba noodles. Everything was just as it always is. Consistency is something rare and precious, but you can always find it at Sugimoto, which I deeply appreciate. I look forward to staying again. Thank you very much!

We stayed as a family of three adults. We were picked up from Matsumoto Station and dropped off at Shinshimashima Station the next day. The room was clean, and the meals were very delicious. The staff at the accommodation were very kind, which we greatly appreciated.

We stayed as three families of relatives. As the title suggests, it was truly wonderful. This cozy accommodation with around 10 rooms allowed us to enjoy the onsen in a private-like setting and spend our time peacefully.

I stayed here because it’s close to the station. The front desk staff were courteous, which made me feel at ease.
