This was my first time staying at Ancient in Karuizawa to enjoy the autumn leaves. Thank you for providing such a relaxing experience that made me forget the flow of time during my stay. The Onsen temperature was just right, and the smooth water left my skin feeling soft and moisturized. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, visually appealing, and gentle on the body—truly satisfying meals. I would love to visit again in a different season. One small disappointment was that the provided amenities were foreign-made, which I found unsuitable for my sensitive skin; I’m glad I brought my own products. It would also be great if a higher-grade hairdryer could be provided in the future.

The Room’s interior design is different from that of a typical Hotel room, and it feels special from the moment you step inside. Each staff member provided attentive service, and overall we had a very pleasant stay. The meals were Japanese cuisine, and not only did everything taste great, but the presentation was also wonderful—making it an enjoyable experience. The bath in the Room was spacious and very relaxing, but it would be even better if the window could open wider. Also, in this season there isn’t much greenery yet, so it was a bit disappointing that we could see a house across the way through gaps between the trees.

We stayed here for his birthday trip. After researching various options, I decided on this Accommodation because it seemed like the one he would love the most. I watched many YouTube videos and fell in love with the Room featuring a colorful daybed, so we chose the Stylish Suite King Double. Since each Room appears to have different interiors, getting that exact one was a matter of luck—but the moment we walked in and saw the daybed Room, we were thrilled. The in-room Onsen uses transported hot spring water, so true Onsen enthusiasts might consider it unconventional. However, it was more than enough for us, and we were grateful to enjoy an Onsen—so much so that we used it many times during our stay. We usually stay in Rooms with open-air baths, so I thought an indoor bath might feel lacking. But thanks to the bright glass-walled design with no sense of enclosure at all, I didn’t find it lacking—in fact, I absolutely loved it. The water temperature is on the cooler side, so you can soak for a long time. We also thoroughly enjoyed the time-slot free-flow lounge. I was especially happy that it was Champagne rather than sparkling wine. There was very little information beforehand because they had only recently switched to Japanese cuisine at that time, but both dinner and breakfast were undeniably delicious. In particular, the dashi broth from the small hot pot at breakfast—filled with plenty of mushrooms—was outstanding and truly moving first thing in the morning. Above all else, what impressed us most was the exceptional hospitality. Everyone provided wonderful service, but we spoke especially often with two staff members: the person who handled our check-in and escorted us to our Room, and the person in charge of our dinner table. Both were young women with a lovely presence, and their service felt truly professional. Both he and I were deeply impressed by their hospitality and were able to spend our entire stay in great spirits. Thanks to their care, this trip became even more special—we are sincerely grateful. I also ordered a birthday cake separately; they brought it to our Room so we could enjoy it slowly. To be honest we could hardly eat much after such a full dinner—but I’m glad we ordered it as a memorable celebration. There are countless Accommodations I want to visit next, so I rarely return to the same place—but this is one Accommodation I definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much for everything.

I took a solo trip to Karuizawa for the first time in a while. Wanting to relax, I chose this Hotel that I’ve visited many times. The Room was spacious, and I enjoyed wine on the wine terrace. With dinner (French) and breakfast (Japanese) included, I was able to unwind without going out after check-in. I also woke up a little earlier than usual, swam in the pool, and enjoyed the Onsen. The staff were kind and friendly, the shop was well stocked, and the food was delicious—I’d love to come again! Thank you very much.

I love traveling solo, and this was my first stay here, but I was able to relax deeply. The staff were very considerate, checking in about drinks during meals and coming at just the right times without me needing to call. The food was also excellent and delicious. I chose a Room with a private Onsen, so I was happy to soak in the Onsen many times without worrying about others. I also enjoyed the classic atmosphere throughout the building. Thank you very much.

I used the Welcome Baby Accommodation for the first time. The staff kindly interacted with my child during check-in and meals, creating a warm atmosphere that made our stay very comfortable. I would love to use it again. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.

This was my first stay here. The location is excellent, and the staff, Room size and layout, amenities, and the fact that we could be with our dog everywhere except the indoor baths made our Multiple Night Stay extremely comfortable. What I especially loved was a sign in the Room with a cute illustration of a dog saying, “Sorry, housekeeping—I slipped out!” It made me feel at ease and truly able to relax in the Room. Everywhere else we’ve stayed with our dog always has a sign saying there will be an additional cleaning fee, so I was really touched by the warmth here. I would definitely like to stay again next time.

This was our second visit. Just like last time, it’s a wonderful Hotel that is very kind to dogs. As I am currently pregnant, thank you very much for your thoughtful consideration with meals and other details. We would definitely love to stay again.

Last time I stayed solo after work and found it very comfortable and easy to relax, so this time I stayed with my family during spring break. No matter when we visit, everything is wonderful—the calm atmosphere, the well-stocked shop, the Onsen, the Room, and the meals. The staff’s understated hospitality and kindness are even better than at luxury Hotels in central Tokyo. It makes me want to stay again and again. Also, breakfast offers a wide variety of options you’d want to eat every morning, with plenty of healthy choices; my favorite is the curry. My family liked the curry best as well. Since my child is taking entrance exams this year, they were able to study comfortably and efficiently after breakfast—enjoying the pool, Onsen, and coffee in the lounge too. We will visit again as a family this summer.

I arrived early and they kindly stored my luggage, and from that moment until I left, the warm and welcoming service truly touched me. The French-style Room was charming and tastefully decorated, so it’s easy to see why the Reviews are so highly rated. And the breakfast served in the Room was absolutely delicious—I was thrilled! Everything was carefully prepared, and I especially remember the oval potatoes that were hollow inside. The potage soup and salad were also excellent. I would love to stay at Primavera again for a truly relaxing getaway.

We stayed as a couple for a workcation. Surrounded by nature in a quiet setting, it was wonderful to be able to work and still relax at our own pace. This time we also used the BBQ area in the sauna building, and the temperature was just right. The cold plunge in March was ice-cold—10 seconds was my limit—but it was a great experience! Being able to sip wine while watching the fireplace at a Karuizawa villa was also amazing. It felt like a luxurious getaway that’s hard to find in central Tokyo. The Room was very clean, and everything felt new and comfortable overall. The bathroom in particular was spacious, with two sinks and a large mirror, which made getting ready in the morning very convenient. The Facility items such as the hair dryer and shower head were high quality, and we could really feel the attention to detail (especially important for women!). It was a stay where we could both work and recharge, and we’d love to stay again next time we visit Karuizawa.

We stayed to celebrate a birthday. The female staff member who assisted us at check-in, the female staff member who carried our luggage to our Room, and the male staff member who carried our luggage from the car were all kind and courteous—thank you very much. Breakfast was also very delicious. We would love to stay again for another special occasion.

We arrived with high expectations, and the outstanding quality exceeded them—our whole family was completely satisfied. From the Shuttle Service to check-in guidance, the Room, the cleanliness of the Facility, and the service in the dining area (including generous portions), everything felt fresh as you would expect from a new Hotel. Every aspect was comfortable and exceptionally well balanced. We are truly grateful to everyone involved with this Hotel for making our stay so wonderful. Thank you very much.

I stayed for one night on my way back from checking in on my mother at my family home, where I live apart. I was exhausted, but the staff’s warm hospitality and delicious meals truly helped me relax. For breakfast, I chose the salad breakfast. It was quite a generous portion, but I finished it all while admiring the careful preparation. After check-out, I even came back again and enjoyed lunch as well. The pieris in the garden was also very soothing. I would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

A two-day trip to Karuizawa with the sole purpose of simply relaxing. The Room was spacious, and the surroundings were quiet, so we were able to unwind in peace. After a bit of sightseeing, we quickly returned to the Hotel, took a bath in the Room at 2:00 PM, and used the large public bath in the evening. On the second day, we used the large public bath from 3:00 PM. Both times no one else was there, so it felt like a private bath—such a luxury. There was also a free-flow sparkling wine service, and having it after bathing was amazing. While there, I had a chance to chat with one of your female staff members. That became my best memory from Karuizawa. I hoped I might see her at check-out, and I was so happy she was there. Sorry for talking for so long. Thank you very much for everything.

The Facility was overall clean and well-maintained, which was great. The lounge had a variety of books, offering a refreshing experience. Free drinks and snacks were available, allowing guests to relax by the authentic fireplace while enjoying refreshments—a truly relaxing time after a long while. Regarding the bath, the shower pressure felt slightly weak. As for the toilet, the automatic lid opening feature was convenient; however, it would open and close on its own when standing near the sink, which was slightly unsettling. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

My favorite Hotel for the first time in three years. Once again, it was fun, comfortable, and absolutely wonderful. To all the staff… As always, you were kind and pleasant, and your attentiveness was outstanding—truly impressive. Everywhere in the Hotel was clean and beautiful, with a spacious, relaxing design… The tasteful use of wood was really nice. The Room was also large, spotless, and very comfortable. On the terrace, I enjoyed coffee at a leisurely pace and had an amazing time. The Onsen was clean and lovely—absolutely the best. We had breakfast at Karamatsu. Unlike last time, it felt more like a kaiseki-style meal. The rice cooked in a traditional kamado stove was exquisite. The handmade tofu was also fantastic. Everything was truly delicious—thank you for the wonderful meal. Thank you as well for accommodating my requests again this time. Thanks to you, it became a fun and relaxing trip—such a wonderful and perfect vacation—and I’m full of gratitude. Thank you very much. It’s truly a lovely and exceptional Hotel that I absolutely adore. I will definitely come again.

Thank you for your support. This is my first time posting. To be frank, the Hotel was not clean. First, the bath: although it is a recirculating system, it did not feel hygienic. The bath windows were not clear, and there was limescale on the metal fixtures around the sink. I’m sorry to say this, but it seems I mistakenly made a Reservation for a Plan that does not include lounge access. On the first day, since we were not aware of this either, we used the lounge. However, when my wife went to the lounge on the evening of our second night, she was told that “this Plan does not allow lounge use.” In my view, a top-class hotel professional should be considerate enough to ensure guests never feel uncomfortable in any situation. Although this was our mistake, we will not stay here again. (Thank you to the young staff member who helped us at the restaurant.)

It’s a great Hotel. The Room was spacious, and the food was delicious. (We chose a Plan with breakfast included, and had à la carte for dinner.) The staff were also very kind. This isn’t specific to this Hotel, but since it applies to Karuizawa in general, those used to 24-hour convenience stores should be aware. There are very few convenience stores or shops where you can buy things at night (pretty much only near the station). So it may be worth preparing in advance. Even so, it was a great Hotel. We stayed for one night this time, but next time we’d like to do a Multiple Night Stay.

I finally got to stay at Kawanone, a place I’d long admired. All the staff at check-in were from overseas, and I appreciated their hardworking, polite service. The Accommodation was an even more impressive luxury home than I imagined—I was thrilled! Having 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and 3 toilets was extremely convenient. The appliances were high-end as well; I especially loved the Miele oven and the Bang & Olufsen speakers. The easy-to-prepare breakfast was delicious too. Although our one-night, two-day stay flew by, we fully enjoyed Karuizawa’s nature and it became a memorable trip. I would definitely like to stay again.
