I stayed at Midori. They assisted us right away even before we parked, which impressed us from the start. All the staff welcomed us cheerfully, served freshly grilled oyaki from the irori hearth, and we enjoyed warm, delicious welcome tea. When they guided us to our Room, their service was polite and attentive without being intrusive. The open-air bath on the rooftop while wearing a yukata was quite cold, but the panoramic view over Lake Suwa was wonderful. The open-air bath in our Room was fed directly from the hot spring source and was very hot. We also requested an additional massage and foot reflexology session. The therapist who helped us was not Japanese, but had a gentle manner and made us feel even more refreshed. We were able to relax over our meals in a private dining Room, and the staff member who served us at both dinner and breakfast was lovely. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. If I had to mention one drawback, the surface inside the bathtub of the in-Room open-air bath felt rough and hurt when sitting down. Also, I had to request a larger size for the loungewear because it ran small; it would have been nice if both M and L sizes were prepared from the beginning so guests could choose. Still, overall we were very satisfied with our stay. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation is right in front of Lake Suwa, and the building is filled with cherry blossom motifs that made us feel the spirit of spring. We could also see Lake Suwa from our Room, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. Both the Room and the facilities were very clean and well maintained. The bath had tatami flooring, which felt wonderful, and the Onsen was excellent. The meals in particular featured a seasonal menu, beautifully presented on lovely Kutani ware dishes, so we enjoyed them even before taking a bite. Of course, everything tasted amazing as well. Every dish respected the natural flavors of the ingredients, allowing us to fully savor spring. There was also a wide selection of alcohol, and we were happy to discover some rare varieties. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

We enjoyed four Onsen baths: the “Top-Floor Scenic View Bath,” “Kiseki-no-Yu,” the “Semi-Open-Air Bath,” and the open-air bath on the Room terrace. The “Kiseki-no-Iyashi Japanese-Western Room with Open-Air Bath” was equipped with an electric bed and bathrobes, making our stay very comfortable and relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we would love to stay again.

I didn’t need a view from the start, so I was able to stay at a great price in a city-side Room. The Room was clean and very nice. I accidentally operated the TV remote incorrectly, and when I asked the front desk for help, even though it was the busy check-in time, they came to my Room right away and kindly assisted me. We were able to relax over our meal in a private dining room, and they watched our pace and served each dish at just the right time, so everything was delicious. The bath was also properly cleaned and felt great. It was a Ryokan where we received courteous service for the first time in a while, and we were very satisfied.

I had been hoping to visit for some time, and I was able to spend a truly wonderful stay. The location offers a magnificent view overlooking Lake Suwa. My daughter was also delighted with the welcome sweets we enjoyed in the Room. Learning about the history of the Katakura family also helped me understand the background behind Tomioka Silk Mill becoming a World Heritage Site. The Room furnishings, amenities, meals, and the staff’s attentive hospitality were all excellent. I especially loved the carefully selected original items and amenities, and I purchased some to take home. I would definitely like to visit again in a different season.

We stayed here as our Accommodation for cherry-blossom viewing at the Takato Castle Ruins. It was my first visit to Lake Suwa in decades, and I was pleased to see how well maintained the lakeside area is. The Hotel’s proprietress and staff were very attentive, and we had a comfortable stay. The open-air bath in our Room had excellent water quality, the temperature could be adjusted, and the view of Lake Suwa was wonderful—very relaxing. We also enjoyed the meals, though I would have liked a bit more Shinshu highland vegetables. If there were a sour made with fresh fruit juice that wasn’t sweet, it would have been perfect.

I made a last-minute Reservation the day before my stay. I was traveling solo, but chose the renovated Deluxe Modern (Japanese-Western Room), 52 m², for single occupancy. It was huge! With twin beds and even a tatami room spacious enough to lay out three futons, I could truly unwind and relax. The Onsen had two types of baths: a reddish, iron-rich spring and a clear one. I enjoyed the open-air bath while watching the sunset over Lake Suwa. Both dinner and breakfast were served in the restaurant, and thanks to the staff’s attentive yet unobtrusive service, I felt comfortable dining alone. The property was kept very clean throughout, so I’d also recommend it for a girls’ trip.

We stayed as a family on a breakfast-only Plan. Although the Accommodation seemed to have quite a lot of Rooms, it never felt overly crowded, including the large public bath, so we were able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. With both the main bath and the open-air bath, the total area is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was exactly what you’d expect from a Ryokan breakfast, and we were very satisfied. The koi and turtles swimming in the lobby were wonderful. Keeping such a large building clean and well maintained must be challenging, but we would love to stay again.

I came here mainly for Lake Suwa, but the food was amazing too—overall, it was fantastic.

I made a Reservation in a hurry due to unforeseen circumstances and ended up making several mistakes, but the front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Although the building and Facility feel a bit dated, the room was more spacious than expected, I was able to fully relax and enjoy the Onsen, and breakfast was properly prepared and delicious. Overall, I was more satisfied than I had imagined. I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

Ever since my visit last year, I’ve been hooked and keep coming back to relax. It’s an old building, but it has a Ryokan-style layout, the plants placed around the property are lovely, and everything is kept very clean and pleasant. They thoughtfully warm up the Room for you when it’s cold at check-in, yet there’s also an easygoing feel that lets you enjoy your stay at your own pace (which I love). The Onsen is wonderful, the meals are delicious, and for this price it feels like an incredible deal. I’m truly grateful for all their hard work.

This is my second stay. The Room is thoroughly cleaned, feels very fresh, and is extremely comfortable. However, the stairs are steep and there are steps, so it may be a bit difficult for guests with weak legs or mobility issues. That said, the best part is that natural Onsen water comes directly from the bathroom faucet. It’s a private Onsen bathroom. The water temperature is just right, so you can soak and relax at your own pace. Lake Suwa spreads out right in front of you across the road from the building—amazing views. It was cherry blossom season, and we were able to enjoy hanami at a leisurely pace. It was a very comfortable trip.

Conveniently located near the station. The amenities were well stocked. Due to my schedule, I booked a No Meals Included plan (no breakfast).

We stayed as a couple at Chosenkaku Kameya near Lake Suwa. On arrival, we were welcomed with a fruit platter as an IKYU Diamond Member benefit. We also arrived slightly before check-in, yet they kindly showed us to our Room without hesitation, which we truly appreciated. The property has the calm presence of a long-established Accommodation, and we felt at ease from the moment we arrived. Both dinner and breakfast were served in private dining rooms, allowing us to relax in a spacious, quiet setting. Every dish made great use of local ingredients and seasonal flavors, and the overall quality was excellent. Our Room was clean and comfortable, making it easy to unwind. We also enjoyed the Onsen within the property and appreciated being able to bathe whenever we liked for a leisurely experience. The proprietress and all staff were very kind, and their warm hospitality stood out. We also appreciated their respectful approach—attentive without being intrusive—and are grateful for their thoughtful care. One minor issue was a clicking sound that seemed to come from around the lighting; we turned off the lights in the Room to address it. If this could be improved, it would make the stay even more comfortable. As for the view, our Room overlooked Lake Suwa. Although it is somewhat distant, we enjoyed the peaceful scenery. The location is also convenient for visiting nearby Suwa Taisha Shrine, which is another plus. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay where we could enjoy delicious meals and an Onsen in a serene atmosphere.

Whenever I stay in Kamisuwa, I choose this Hotel. It’s close to the station and has an Onsen, and above all, the breakfast is truly delicious. There’s a wide variety of options, so I think both bread lovers and rice lovers will be satisfied. I always look forward to the tasty homemade breakfast.

The staff’s hospitality, the Onsen, breakfast, and the Room were all excellent—I was very satisfied and able to relax comfortably at my own pace. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here in late March while visiting Suwa Taisha Shrine. The lobby faces Lake Suwa, so the location is excellent, and just as my friend said, the price was reasonable yet the meals were delicious. In particular, the attendants who served breakfast and dinner provided outstanding hospitality, and their enjoyable conversation made my stay very pleasant. I would love to stay here again when I visit Suwa.

The Room is clean, the entire building is non-smoking (a smoking Room is available), and I love the Onsen with a sauna! It’s my favorite Hotel, so I keep coming back again and again! In my case, I usually just return to sleep so it doesn’t bother me, but since the refrigerator is wall-mounted, it might be disappointing for those who want a larger fridge.
