Thank you very much for your kind hospitality the other day. We were blessed with wonderful weather, and our stay in Amakusa was truly a happy one from the bottom of our hearts. The lovely Room, the magnificent views, the skin-beautifying hot spring, the flavorful cuisine that was also a delight to the eyes, and the tableware by local artists that enhanced each dish. We were also deeply impressed by the fluffy towels and the warm, attentive care from your staff throughout our stay. It was a memorable and wonderful Accommodation that made us want to return again. Thank you again very much for everything.

This was the first Hotel where we could enjoy sunrise, sunset, and the night view over the peninsula from our Room. On top of that, the staff’s thoughtfulness was reflected in everything—the spotless cleanliness of the Room, the variety and arrangement of amenities, and even the selection of drinks in the refrigerator. It was simply outstanding. Communicating with the staff and manager was truly comforting, and they were so considerate with the Shuttle Service that we almost felt bad. Even a small comment would be met with “How about this?” as they did everything possible beyond any manual—so much so that we felt we shouldn’t casually mention anything. When we told them it was to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and new job, they created unforgettable memories for us with a handmade bouquet and a champagne toast. Our daughter kept saying to both the staff—and even on our flight home—that she would work hard and definitely come back again. It seems this Accommodation has become a goal for her. There is still so much more I can’t fit here, but among all the Hotels we have stayed at, this became our very best Accommodation. It was a warm place where you could truly feel everyone working together to think about how to make guests happy. Thank you very much. We will be back again.

We stayed as a family of three on Monday, March 23, 2026. We had stayed in Kirishima before, but after hearing in a Review that the baths were wonderful, we chose this Accommodation for the first time. We were amazed at how beautifully Sakurajima could be seen from Kirishima. From the main building’s open-air bath, we could also see Sakurajima at sunset—an excellent soak. One family member has difficulty walking, so we gave up our reserved private bath “Akamatsu-no-Yu” and switched to a private bath inside the main building instead; it was a semi-open-air bath and very relaxing. The design of the bath was tasteful, and since it was cherry blossom season, we enjoyed fully blooming sakura while listening to Japanese bush warblers—we went in twice. The meals were delicious and very satisfying. This has become one of the Accommodations we would like to visit again.

Although the sunset was not visible due to cloudy weather, I was deeply moved by the stunning interplay of light between the clouds and sea during dusk, as well as the dramatic shadows of the Amakusa islands. The Hotel's Facility, designed with this breathtaking scenery in mind

The staff's hospitality, the room's view, the onsen, and the meals were all exceptional! We stayed in a Sunset View room and were soothed by the beautiful ocean scenery from our room. From the dining area, you can enjoy delicious meals while admiring the stunning ocean view.

The Onsen, cuisine, service, interior design, and selection of items were all thoughtfully considered and refined. Additionally, the view from the room was exceptional due to favorable weather, offering stunning sights of the sunset, night view, and sunrise that we couldn't take our eyes off. It was an outstanding accommodation that exceeded expectations in every way.

After strolling around Unzen Jigoku with my wife, we headed to Toen. We stayed in a Room called “Riyui.” It faces Oshidori Pond, and since we arrived at 3:00 p.m., we soaked in the open-air bath while casually gazing out over the pond from the Room. As time passed and it began to get slightly dark, I happened to look at the pond and saw the mountains behind us reflected on the surface of the water—it felt like a painting by Kaii Higashiyama. I kept looking again and again until nightfall, so moving that I almost expected a white horse to appear. I had assumed the Onsen would be similar because Unzen is known for its milky-white waters, but when I asked, I learned that Unzen has multiple layers of hot spring sources, and Toen’s Onsen is rich in iron. It was very gentle on the skin, and my wife was delighted. The in-Room amenities were thoughtfully arranged as well. The shampoo, treatment conditioner, body soap, etc. were single-use items, and even the hair dryer was a modern model—so we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. Next is dining: this time dinner was served in our Room, and eating while looking out over the pond felt wonderful. The meal began with appetizers, but even those alone were filling; after that came Unzen Akaushi beef—exceptionally tender with very little fat. What made us especially happy was an extra dish not listed on the menu as part of a special perk: simmered golden eye snapper (Kinmedai). We were truly moved by this unexpected treat. The seasoning had gentle flavors with just enough accent to stand out—we could really feel the chef’s skill. Breakfast was served in the dining area, but it was also arranged so we could enjoy views of Oshidori Pond while eating. A generous amount is served from early morning. Since dinner the previous day was sushi there wasn’t any rice served then; however breakfast did include rice—and when we ate it, it had such a wonderful aroma and just the right moisture content that it made us genuinely happy. Lastly, there are many souvenirs lined up in the shop—so many that you’ll have trouble choosing. And all of the staff were cheerful and welcoming; thanks to their pleasant service both our bodies and minds felt refreshed. We’d love to visit Unzen again and stay with Toen once more. I came to Kyushu on a trip for my mother. We chose this place because the Reviews were truly excellent about the cherry-blossom garden, the Onsen, the lobby lounge that feels like a top-class Hotel, the food, and the staff—and in the end, it was exactly as described in the Reviews, or even better. First of all, the chocolate fountain with the welcome drink was absolutely amazing! The staff member who guided us to our Room was also very pleasant. We stayed in a detached Room, and it happened to be peak cherry blossom season—the view of the garden in full bloom from our Room was breathtaking! And we could enjoy it all to ourselves; my mother was deeply moved. And above all, the food was outstanding. The natural flavors of each ingredient were brought out beautifully, and every dish was perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed Kyushu ingredients we had never tried before, served on beautiful tableware—everything showed careful attention to detail. My mother kept saying throughout dinner how incredible this chef is! The explanations when each dish arrived were thorough, and their thoughtful service made for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. I was also happy that we could keep admiring the cherry blossoms while eating. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent as well. We fully enjoyed everything: an open-air bath that changes between night and morning, a rare tatami bath, and even the bath in our Room. Truly—whether it was the staff, cuisine, Room, or Onsen—everything was exceptional. This became an unforgettable Hotel for us. I would definitely love to stay again. I had been curious about this accommodation for a long time when visiting Amakusa, and I’m glad I could stay. The semi-open-air bath was great, but the meals were absolutely amazing. I was fully satisfied with all the delicacies of Amakusa. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t all

First, the temperature of the free-flowing natural Onsen in the Room was not too hot and very comfortable, so we enjoyed it many times. The food was also fresh and very delicious. We also appreciated your accommodating bedding for a family member with a down allergy. Thank you very much. There is a whisky bar on the first floor, and my husband, who loves drinks, was delighted. We would love to visit again.

The West Wing has been renovated, and the Room was clean and comfortable. My daughter’s family, who stayed in a Western-style Room in the East Wing, was very pleased that baby food was available at the dining area. We have visited several times, and we felt that the Hotel staff’s service has improved even more, making our stay truly enjoyable.

I made a Reservation because I wanted to try staying in a dome tent. I didn’t expect the bath and toilet to be down the outdoor stairs, but we still had a very comfortable stay. The bath was amazing! We could relax in a private space, and the amenities were far better than expected. I couldn’t believe they even had a Dyson hair dryer and a ReFa hair iron! The meals were also excellent—everything was delicious! The kids’ menu was luxurious too, and breakfast was fantastic! The inside of the dome tent was comfortable as well. We had so much fun with the games we borrowed and laughed a lot. And since there’s plenty of distance from other tents, noise wasn’t an issue at all. I’d love to visit again if I get the chance!

The facility, hospitality, and environment of this accommodation are excellent. However, if I may add a small suggestion, the open-air bath is surrounded by wooden walls and lacks a view. Despite the spacious area of the accommodation, the open-air bath is small and does not offer an outdoor scenery. I wonder if the open-air bath was added later?

I stayed here with my wife on a trip to Kagoshima. Because it was raining and our flight was delayed, we couldn’t really enjoy the view, but we thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen with excellent water quality. The water is strongly alkaline and leaves your skin silky-smooth—personally, I loved it. The staff were all pleasant, and the meals were delicious without being overly large. Overall, we were satisfied with the Room that has a bath, except that the bathroom is fully visible from the bed. A curtain or similar covering on the bathroom door would help even middle-aged couples feel more comfortable. A great Onsen in a convenient location near Sakurajima and Ogawa Falls.
