From arrival to dining, every aspect—including the Facility and lounge—was extremely satisfying. We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights and were very satisfied, including with the meals. It reaffirmed that there are charms you can only appreciate with a Multiple Night Stay. If we have the opportunity, we would love to stay again next time.

This was our first stay, and we visited with three dogs and four family members. The staff were courteous and left a great impression! Near the entrance and by the dog run, there were poop bags, towels for wiping paws, and other essentials. The indoor dog run on the second floor had dog diapers/belly bands available, and each floor was stocked with pee pads—so it was so well equipped that we hardly needed to bring anything for our dogs. The food was delicious, and the pudding at the breakfast buffet was especially outstanding. There were both indoor baths and an open-air bath; the temperature was just right, and areas like the changing room were kept very clean. We’d love to stay again.

The food was delicious. We were traveling with our 2-year-old child, and we really appreciated the staff’s thoughtful care. The drink bar on the first floor was also great. Our child kept asking for more orange juice, and we were happy to be able to refill it several times. The late-night ramen was also very tasty. My wife said she’d like to come again, so we’d love to stay here again when we visit Iwate.

To celebrate my 92-year-old mother’s birthday, we visited Kamenoi in Ome—still within Tokyo, but a place we don’t often go to and not too far from home. My mother is very particular about food, and she was extremely satisfied with the meals (when I mentioned that she doesn’t like meat, they kindly changed part of the menu for her), for which we are truly grateful. The staff were all pleasant and welcoming, and at the restaurant a kind male staff member was especially thoughtful—speaking gently to my mother and discreetly bringing water for her medication. We would definitely like to visit again with friends. Since our goal was simply to relax, it was perfect for us.

Inspired by the spring cherry blossoms, we planned our route to combine sightseeing with a “pilgrimage” to locations related to the Taiga drama “Hideyoshi Brothers,” including its exhibition hall. We stayed one night in Nara City after visiting Kofuku-ji and Todai-ji. The next day, we headed from Nara and the ruins of Yamato-Koriyama Castle to Shiga via the drama exhibition hall. After sightseeing at Hyakusaiji Temple, Tennei-ji Temple, and Hikone Castle’s Castle Road, we arrived at Kamenoi Hotel Hikone. We had requested dinner for 19:15 in advance. Since we arrived around 17:00, we were able to unpack first and then relax in the Onsen before dinner. There was a dinner menu at our table, and starting with the main Omi beef sukiyaki, many Shiga-produced ingredients and seasonings were used throughout. We truly felt the Hotel’s sincere commitment to “local production for local consumption.” The meal was essentially kaiseki-style cuisine, and my wife praised it as “very delicious.” I completely agreed. There was also a menu at breakfast, and the Hotel’s commitment to local sourcing never wavered—both of us were extremely satisfied with the flavors. My wife turned in early, so I enjoyed the late-night ramen on my own; the black tantan noodles were also excellent. This was our first stay at a Kamenoi Hotel—after previously making a Reservation in Beppu but being unable to stay due to illness—and it turned out to be a wonderful experience where we could feel just a touch of Kumahachi Aburaya’s spirit. The following day brought strong winds and boats from nearby Hikone Port to Chikubu Island were canceled; however, we still managed an enriching trip that covered everything from Nagahama Kita-Omi Taiga Drama Exhibition Hall to Daitsuu-ji Temple, Nagahama Castle Historical Museum, and Gi-to-Kizuna-kan (Righteousness & Bonds Museum). As a base on Lake Biwa’s eastern shore area (Koto), Kamenoi Hotel is wholeheartedly recommended.

The meals, the views, and the Onsen—everything exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed it so much and will definitely come back! ・Meals I didn’t have high expectations for a buffet in this price range, but every dish here was truly delicious, and you could feel the extra care and creativity in each one. The live-kitchen steak and the seafood marinade with octopus were especially memorable. The vegetables were crisp as well—you can tell they pay close attention to sourcing and freshness. There was also a dedicated kids’ menu area, and even as an adult I found it surprisingly tasty—mealtime was genuinely fun. As for drinks, there were all-you-can-drink options too, so I ended up drinking a bit too much while enjoying all the great food! On top of that, they offered a free late-night tantan ramen service—perfect to finish off the evening after drinks. And it was unbelievably good for something free; other guests eating nearby were also amazed at how delicious it was. ・Views We had made a Reservation for an affordable Room so we weren’t expecting much, but when we arrived and opened the curtains—what a beautiful ocean view! At night we could even enjoy Atami’s stunning city lights from our Room. A staff member told us on our way out that all Rooms have an ocean view… amazing! They also mentioned that Kamenoi Hotel Atami Annex (scheduled to be renovated around spring?) will have even better views… We immediately decided as a family that we have to go next time! We’re planning to visit again around summer. It sounds like summer is popular too, so we’d like to make our Reservation before it fills up! Highly recommended!!

I stayed here on a trip with my son, and it was truly wonderful! The reasons we chose this Hotel were: 1) The buffet 2) The baths 3) Renovation in 12/2025 4) Great value for the price There are many Hotels and Ryokan to choose from, but the selection of Kumamoto local cuisine here was excellent—and everything was delicious. They even had basashi (horse sashimi), basashi nigiri, tender Akaushi beef skewers, and tasty yamame (mountain trout) skewers. You can eat your fill with dishes like dago-jiru dumpling soup, Akaushi beef hayashi rice, simmered horse offal, and meals made with local vegetables. There were also tempura, sashimi, seafood rice bowls, soba noodles, and more. The desserts were also impressive—there were lots of strawberry sweets in season—and the quality was high. All-you-can-drink alcohol is available for an additional fee. I usually drink, but this time I skipped it because I didn’t want to miss out on the food—and I didn’t regret it at all. I’ve had buffets at many Hotels before, and this one ranks among the very best. I was so full that I couldn’t try the limited-time late-night tantanmen service, which was a shame. Breakfast was just as satisfying—I was completely stuffed from the morning. Personally, I loved the Akaushi beef bowl! At the live kitchen they sear thinly sliced roast-beef-style Akaushi beef for you. It was so tender that I went back for seconds. There are also two types of Kumamoto ramen, seafood rice bowls, Akaushi beef curry, takana rice… honestly there’s far too much to finish. So frustrating (in a good way). The Aso milk pudding, yogurt, and milk were delicious as well. Of course they also offer standard breakfast items (grilled fish, natto fermented soybeans، soft-boiled eggs، seasoned nori seaweed، miso soup، several kinds of bread، cereal، muffins، etc.). What surprised me in the bath area: the shower heads were ReFa brand—and even the hair dryers were ReFa! I’ve rarely seen a Hotel equipped entirely with ReFa products. Maybe Kamenoi Hotels do this? The Facilities felt as clean and well-appointed as an exclusive membership resort. There is also a sauna area; dry sauna and mist sauna are available on a rotating basis. Since it’s after renovation，the building is very clean，and overall it was so good that I can’t fit everything into one Review. It offers excellent value，with beautiful Aso views—highly recommended! I’m glad we didn’t choose one of those expensive Accommodations around nearby Kurokawa Onsen instead. This is a Hotel that makes me want to come back again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

This was my first time staying here. I was glad the Agara Lounge was open, but I would be even happier if it were truly all-inclusive, with drinks available during meals as well. The sashimi at dinner—especially the Katsuura tuna—was all fresh and delicious. The bath water quality was excellent, with a pleasantly silky Onsen feel.

I often stayed here back when it was Kanpo no Yado. It has been rebranded and is now beautifully renovated. The sunset view from the Room was breathtaking. I will definitely stay again.

Everything was clean, and the staff were kind, so I had a blissful stay. I’d love to come again.

The Room was clean, and while it was a shame there was no open-air bath, the hot water was excellent. The limited-time all-you-can-drink offer in the lounge was also great, with local sake available as well. I hope you offer it again. Breakfast was wonderful—the clam soup was truly delicious.

Everything—the Room, baths, lobby, and more—has been renovated, and it was clean and very pleasant. Compared with the main building, it was quieter with a calm atmosphere. The bath at the back had three pot-style tubs, so I could soak alone and relax. However, I was bothered by an odor coming from the drain in the washing area. In the semi-open-air bath, if you stand up you may be visible from a nearby balcony window of Nakagin, so if that concerns you, it may be better not to stand up. All of the baths have handrails, which made it very nice because I could bathe even with mobility issues. All of the meals were delicious. Dinner was beautifully presented, and I could enjoy a relaxed meal while taking in the wonderful view from the window. As for service, the driver on the bus ride there was a little intimidating, but everyone else was excellent. They saw us off for our return bus with smiles and waves. It was disappointing that the Room was hot and uncomfortable to sleep in, but I would like to visit again.

Just before check-out, my grandfather who was traveling with us became unwell, and the gentleman at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. At dinner, they even specially chopped the food into smaller pieces to make it easier to eat, and I truly appreciated the thoughtful care from a middle-aged female staff member. All of the staff were very kind. The hospitality was outstanding!

The meals were delicious, the bath was wonderful, and above all, the Room was spacious and relaxing. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the consistently comfortable stay, no matter how many times we visit. We’ll be back again!

It was a very comfortable Room. A vanity with double sinks. A 50-inch TV. A spacious in-room open-air bath. Thanks to that, we were able to relax very much. The food was also delicious. We were informed that tantanmen would be served at 9:00 p.m., but for us in our 60s, dinner was more than enough. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes, and we ended up eating too much. The only disappointment was that we wish there had been shower caps in the large public bath as well.

This was a Hotel I’m truly glad I stayed at. The front desk staff spoke gently and clearly, which made me feel at ease. Just then, a loud group from overseas came close and startled me, but thanks to the staff’s professional handling, I was able to get to my Room without crossing paths with them or having an unpleasant experience. I had braced myself for a noisy night, but it was quiet and I slept soundly—perhaps because we were in a separate building from the group—and I really appreciated that consideration. Since some Korean guests were on the same floor as us, we even had a chance to chat in the elevator. The staff’s hospitality was warm, the Onsen was excellent, and it’s a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again. In the second photo are magewappa wooden bento boxes used on the ceiling of the breakfast venue—I was truly impressed.

I’m a repeat guest with over 30 stays. Since it will become a dog-friendly Accommodation starting in April, I stayed one last time and will miss it. The food was delicious, and the bath was excellent. Breakfast was also great, but I’m now considering new Accommodations for future trips. Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful Hotel. The Room was very clean, and the buffet was delicious. I especially loved the open-air bath with a sky view... I would like to stay again if I have the chance.

I stayed here with my two children (three of us in total), and it was excellent. It was raining that day, and we arrived 30 minutes before check-in. While we were waiting in the lobby, they kindly let us check in early even though it was ahead of the scheduled time. My kids were looking forward to dinner, and although we arrived a bit early, they opened earlier than the start time for us. Every interaction with the staff showed thoughtful attention to detail, and it made our trip very satisfying. Thank you very much!
