To mark a milestone in our daughters’ independence, my husband suggested we spend time here together as a family to celebrate. We really appreciated the convenient access even when work ran late, and being able to choose a later dinner time. From the welcome, to meal service, passing staff in the building, and all the way through to seeing us off, everyone greeted us with relaxed smiles that set such a calm tone. We were also impressed by thoughtful touches like adjusting the table setting for our left-handed family members—truly professional. My husband doesn’t do well with very hot water, so he only bathed once (he said the bath in our Room was so spacious that it took some effort to cool it down with water). After dinner I felt chilled, so I enjoyed a second Onsen soak in our Room. I think our daughter—who isn’t comfortable with shared baths—was happy as well. Our time in the lounge flew by, and at dinner we had seconds of rice while savoring each carefully crafted dish. The sound of the river, the scent throughout the property, and the unhurried pace became wonderful family memories. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay with the Fufu brand, and I was very impressed by the thoughtful attention to detail throughout, as well as the stylish design. I’ve stayed at several small luxury properties, but here even the subtle Facilities and furnishings really resonated with me. The meals in particular were truly delicious—I was moved again and again. Also, although it is transported hot spring water, the in-Room (semi-)open-air bath was outstanding. Precisely because of this season, the cool outdoor air felt wonderful, and with screens in place I didn’t have to worry about insects. If I had to mention a few drawbacks: - At breakfast, service such as bringing dishes felt rushed (I suspected they may have been short-staffed… though the service itself was excellent). - As a small luxury Accommodation it’s understandable, but there are limited public spaces such as a large communal bath. - The Room included complimentary drinks plus beer so it wasn’t a major issue, but having paid alcohol placed there takes away from the experience. - Likewise with dining, being encouraged toward higher-priced options is also off-putting. Overall, at this price level many guests probably want to pay upfront and then relax without thinking about extra charges. To be honest, it felt a bit too sales-driven and became tiring. That said, overall this is an Accommodation with very high satisfaction. Personally I found myself torn between here and HIRAMATSU Karuizawa Miyota—HIRAMATSU has better views, while Fufu has better access—so it’s genuinely hard to choose. I’d love to return again in the future, including to other Fufu properties as well.

A quiet, wonderful Accommodation. When we were shown to our Room, the open-air bath was already at the perfect temperature, with steam gently rising. I was completely won over by the bookshelf stocked with books about Nara and by the delicious local green tea in a pitcher in the fridge—just like at home (and bottled water is properly provided as well). Once you step out of your Room, you’re exposed to the outdoor temperature, so when moving around, you’ll freeze if you only wear the in-house loungewear and sandals with bare feet—please come prepared. The Japanese garden path leading to the restaurant is beautiful (we even saw deer in the morning), but after dinner with a few drinks—even though it’s just next door—we had them kindly drive us over so we wouldn’t get lost. On a weekday in March, we hardly ran into other guests at all; the restaurant was private-room dining, and check-in also felt semi-private, which made everything very comfortable. The food was thoughtfully prepared down to every detail and absolutely delicious. They also offered tastings of local Nara sake—it was pure bliss. Thank you very much! We’re already planning a visit next spring (lol).

This was our first stay at Fufu Karuizawa. We stayed as a family of four to celebrate my mother’s recovery. While many luxury Accommodations these days don’t feel worth the price, we truly felt Fufu’s heartfelt hospitality, and the food was excellent. When I mentioned to the dinner staff that we were celebrating my mother’s recovery, they added a message to the final dessert, which made everyone so happy and deeply moved us. We were also lucky with the weather, and my mother was delighted—staying at Fufu was absolutely the right choice!! It’s been a long time since we found such a wonderful Accommodation.

This was my first stay at Fufu Hakone. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy two different types of Onsen. As expected from “Fufu,” the dining did not disappoint—especially the option to choose dishes. They kindly ask about allergies either way, but it can be hard to mention ingredients you’re not allergic to yet simply don’t prefer. Thanks to that flexibility, I ended up with a course I was truly satisfied with. Also, I accidentally left something behind due to my own carelessness, and I really appreciate how quickly you helped me. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

Fufu Kyoto, which I chose for my stay in Kyoto, was a wonderful Accommodation that far exceeded my expectations. This time I enjoyed Kyoto-style oden for dinner elsewhere, but I was amazed by how outstanding Fufu’s breakfast was the next morning. It was so delicious that I truly wished I had booked dinner here as well. I also heard that dinner is available to non-staying guests, so next time I’d love to return and enjoy an evening meal too. The Room was impeccably clean, and thanks to the thoughtful attention to detail throughout, my stay was exceptionally comfortable. The in-room Onsen is one of Fufu’s true highlights—I indulged in it three times, whenever and as long as I liked. The nighttime bar atmosphere was also exceptional; savoring an amber-colored Yamazaki on the rocks made for a blissful moment.

After visiting Nikko last September, I completely fell in love with the “Fufu” brand and stayed here following my January trip to Atami. It truly feels worthy of being the original “Fufu” with a Michelin Two Key rating. The dinner and breakfast were both perfect in every way—flavor, service, and presentation. The Room also offered a spectacular view with Mt. Fuji right in front of us, and we were extremely satisfied.\n\nOne of the few disappointments was the lack of lounge service like the one in Nikko. I’m used to Marriott-style lounge access and often base my Hotel stay around it, so that was the only drawback.\n\nAs we were leaving, the manager kindly said, “Please come again in another season,” which left a lasting impression on me. It was a wonderful Accommodation.\n\nWe will definitely return.

This stay was wonderful once again. Breakfast and dinner were as delicious as ever. The bath in our Room was spacious, and both the kids and adults used it four times—it felt amazing. At check-in, the staff greeted us by calling our child’s name just from seeing our faces, which made us very happy. We were also impressed that something we requested via room service during our previous stay had already been prepared this time before we even asked. Also, without going into details, we truly appreciate how you accommodated us due to our circumstances. Our child keeps saying, “Hehe—this is a god-tier Hotel!” (laugh). We’ll definitely come back to stay again!

The Room bath is a free-flowing open-air hot spring bath, available 24 hours a day, so I used it five times. It felt wonderful. Whenever I used the Room bath towels, they were promptly replaced with fresh ones, making for a very comfortable bathing experience. The staff were highly attentive, and the meals were delicious. The public bath only has an open-air bath, and since it was still a bit cold outside, it was hard to warm up properly.

It’s built almost right on the coast—amazing. Below your Room is a seaside promenade (if you wave to people walking by, they’ll wave back). Even while indoors, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Jogashima. A Multiple Night Stay is highly recommended. Fufu’s meals are overwhelmingly better than other Hotels in the same price range (both in quality and quantity), and the Jogashima-style cuisine—different from other Fufu properties—is also outstanding (seafood-focused; even the requested breakfast curry is a seafood curry). The view varies by Room (depending on the direction, some Rooms offer sunrise and Mt. Fuji views while others do not), which makes returning even more enjoyable.
