Yatsugatake Kiyosato Highland Seisenryo Hotel & Cottages

Following last year’s Golden Week, I visited Seisenryo again. This time I stayed in a maisonette room; the bedroom, washbasin, and bathroom were on the second floor, so I felt comfortable and at ease. Both dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious—especially the wide variety of fresh vegetables—and the desserts were plentiful as well, which was very satisfying. The staff were kind, making it a very welcoming Accommodation.

This was my third stay.I stayed in a Room with a fireplace in the new wing.Time seems to pass slowly in Kiyosato, and the luxury of doing nothing amid clean air, wide skies, and abundant nature is incredibly soothing.I visited the Paul Rusch Memorial Museum and was moved by his noble ideals, felt warmed by the simple charm of the Yamane Museum, read nature-related books at the Yatsugatake Fureai Center, and took walks in the forest...It’s an irreplaceable time away from a busy everyday life.Relaxing in the Room is wonderful, but the lobby is also a lovely space.There is a fireplace and a library, plus complimentary coffee and tea service.It’s also great that the staff do not interfere unnecessarily.Whenever we spoke to them, they responded pleasantly.The food—both breakfast and dinner—features vegetables that are simply delicious.The main meat dish at dinner can feel a little modest, but that isn’t what I come for, so it’s not an issue for me at all.All three of my visits have been in winter, but I’d love to come during the green season as well.This is an ideal Accommodation for anyone who wants to relax in a quiet setting.To all the staff: thank you again for your hospitality.
