The Celestine Kyoto Horikawa Sanjo

I stayed here for one night while sightseeing in Kyoto. For the price, the location was excellent and the Room was very clean. The single Room had a compact layout with the toilet, sink, and shower area set by the window—an unusual style—but it felt stylish and was also very easy to use. There was a small shopping street nearby. Since it faces a main road, the bus stop is close by, and Nijo Castle is within walking distance. Breakfast may be hit or miss for some because the selection is limited, but at this price it’s understandable. Each item tasted good and I was satisfied. I didn’t have time to try the self-service curry in the evening, but I enjoyed the welcome coffee twice during my stay. It’s available for long hours, which I really appreciated. They also provide skincare amenities (lotion and emulsion), and having a large public bath was a nice bonus. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

Overall, it was a great experience. The reception staff provided prompt and courteous service, making the stay pleasant. I stayed in a twin Room with a shower, which was compact yet thoughtfully designed for a comfortable stay. The furnishings in the Room were relatively new (except for the slippers), and everything was clean and well-maintained, ensuring comfort. The large public bath was not crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience, and the single-use amenities were very convenient. The coffee machine being available until midnight was also helpful for travelers. However, having only one elevator felt slightly inconvenient considering the number of guest Rooms.Overall impression: I would like to stay here again!
