Itoen Hotel Bandai Mukotaki

I wanted to soak in an Onsen while watching the snow, so I was looking for a Hotel where the in-room open-air bath is real Onsen water rather than heated tap water, and that’s how I found this Hotel. This time we stayed in Room 312. The Room was spacious and clean, and the private open-air bath was right there as soon as you opened the window. At most Accommodations you have to fill the bath yourself, but here it was already filled, and a heat-retaining sheet had been placed over the water—probably to prevent it from cooling down and to keep out debris—so I was impressed that it was ready to use immediately. Unfortunately there wasn’t any snow and we couldn’t see much of the view, but the temperature was perfect. The Onsen water had a slightly silky feel and left my skin smooth. Meals were half-buffet with a main dish included. I wanted to eat more, but my husband wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t feel like eating much on my own—such a shame. Considering you get two meals and a room with a private open-air Onsen bath for this price, I think it’s great value for money.

The best Hotel in the Tohoku group. Onsen, cost performance, and room are excellent. I will use it again.
