Hotel New Tohoku

I understood there was no elevator, but perhaps due to the many comments mentioning "no elevator," my luggage was carried up the stairs for me! When I returned from going out, the receptionist, who was a foreign staff member, warmly greeted me with "Welcome back." It was such a small gesture, but it made me feel very comforted. The room felt old but well-maintained and clean. Being close to the station and considering the price, it exceeded my expectations. Despite being affordable, there were amenities like tea, a personal-use kettle, and even deodorizer spray. I also appreciated having button-up pajamas instead of yukata. Since it was during a time when infectious diseases were starting to spread, I would have given full marks if there had been an air purifier. There weren’t many guests staying at the time so noise wasn’t an issue at all. If I have another chance, I’d love to stay here again!

The room is a bit small but sufficient for one person. It uses a key instead of an auto-lock, which felt slightly insecure. The bathwater took some time to get warm. The TV suddenly stopped working after about 10 minutes, possibly due to reception issues. Although different staff handled check-in, check-out, and other interactions, everyone was very polite and professional. I would consider staying again with No Meals Included.
