    This time, due to the circumstances of the original accommodation (Bokakakan), we stayed at Ryokan Gero Onsen Sasara. Initially, we were a bit anxious, but we were completely satisfied with the meals, room, onsen, and staff. This accommodation is one we would like to use again when visiting Gero Onsen.

    It was a trip with friends after a long time. The front desk service was very kind, and the staff, who were foreigners, spoke beautifully and left a good impression. It felt like a traditional Ryokan where we could relax.

    Sorry!

    We travel about once a month as a couple, and this time we brought our daughter along. Although we have visited many Onsen destinations, this was our first time visiting Gero Onsen as it seemed too mainstream before. The Facility had an old and historical charm, and cleaning was well-maintained. However, the Room's sofa was so outdated that it sank like a hole when sitting on it, which felt uncomfortable. Dinner was served as a set meal rather than a buffet, but honestly, the dishes were disappointing considering the price. I felt that meals at certain chain group Hotels might be better and more affordable. The baths were good though; they provided an enjoyable experience!

    This is my third stay at the Property, and I always enjoy the delicious meals in the morning and evening. I look forward to seeing if the dinner menu will have new options next time. It would be great to have a roof over the pathway to the private open-air bath. The staff provided kind and attentive service. I will definitely stay here again.

    I was able to relax.

    We stayed as a family during the New Year. The building itself felt a bit old, but it was well-maintained and we had a pleasant stay.

    It was very good.

    This is my first time at Gero Onsen. The beef steak & Hoba-yaki for dinner were amazing, and the steak was praised as the best among the Stays on this trip. The rice made from new harvest was also delicious, and I am very satisfied. Although the Property has a retro Showa era feel, both the bath and the meals were very satisfying.

    A bit old but nice room and garden, excellent bath.

    The room and garden were a bit old but nice. The bath was clean, with excellent spring quality. The service was straightforward but sufficient. We were satisfied with the food, including the children's menu. We were delighted as a family with this affordable hot spring hotel.

    Detached Sansuitei with an open-air bath located at the back of a 1,100-tsubo garden.

    The room facilities are old and the toilet smells bad. When the sun is shining, the air conditioner is not cold; at night, the air conditioner is noisy. Breakfast and dinner were served in the same room. The room was so hot that I didn’t enjoy it. Breakfast is nothing special, just average taste. Dinner: The taste was not good. I ordered Hida beef steak that was completely different from the photos on the website. It was very difficult to swallow and taste bad. I was very disappointed. The staff is indifferent and I don’t want to go to Gero Onsen again.

    Basically, it was a very nice inn, and I had a great time. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed using the private bath. What concerned me was that the hairdryer in the room would get hot immediately after turning it on and then shut off quickly. For those with long hair, it can take time to dry their hair, so if it shuts off quickly, it takes longer to dry. I tried to use it, but it shut off quickly, so I had to let my hair dry naturally. After a short break, it could be used again, but it would still shut off quickly. Another concern was the changing room of the private bath. I understand that there are many insects during the summer, but since it's a place where you take off your clothes and expose your skin, it would be more pleasant if measures were taken to prevent insects from entering. I believe many people are not fond of insects, so I would appreciate your attention to this matter. I might use your inn again when I visit Gero, so I look forward to your hospitality then.

    The facilities are outdated.

    The facilities are outdated, and the toilet in the room was almost unusable (or undesirable to use), so please be aware. Also, although the bath is available 24 hours, I was a bit concerned about the hygiene, and the temperature was a bit lukewarm.

    I was impressed with the staff.

    Most of the staff, including those at the front desk and in dining services, are from Asia, but their language and attitude are as excellent as those of Japanese staff. I was truly impressed. The room is old, but it was thoroughly cleaned. I was very satisfied with the private bath, which I used both nights. There is a railway near the inn, and the noise from it was quite loud.
