    Reservations via IKYU: Suma Sea World & Hotel

    Everything was outstanding. First, I made a Reservation through IKYU and received a souvenir shopping voucher as a perk. From our Room at the Sea World Hotel, we could see dolphins. The ocean was right there, and the dining—true to Kobe—was far from ordinary, with unique ingredients and great variety. Sea World itself was so much fun: dolphin shows, orca shows, and plenty more to enjoy. It’s a place adults will want to visit again and again—and kids will too.

    Fun for children, but not suitable for long stays as a base for sightseeing in the surrounding area.

    We stayed for about a week as a base for sightseeing in the area. In short, the kids enjoyed it thanks to the wide range of activities, but it felt somewhat tough for adults. - What kids will enjoy In addition to being able to enter Sea World as many times as they like, there are plenty of options to keep children entertained for several full days, such as morning backstage access and evening craft activities. - Buffet dining Overall, the menu is very kid-friendly, and our children were happy with it. On the other hand, there isn’t much for adults to unwind. The buffet is heavily geared toward children, with few seasonal local ingredients that adults would appreciate. Even on a Multiple Night Stay, there is little variation in the menu. Compared with other family Resort Hotels in the same price range, there’s less local character and fewer day-to-day changes. For main dishes like beef steak, you have to respond when asked “Shall we prepare one?” and then have it cooked; one serving is only two slices. It’s hard to eat enough to feel satisfied, so we ended up craving meat and skipped the buffet to go to a yakiniku restaurant across the street instead. When I made my Reservation, only Plans with buffet included were available. Many comparable hotels allow you to Cancel that portion on days you don’t use it and refund it or convert it into credit for other services, but this Hotel didn’t seem to offer anything like that. Having essentially the same buffet included every day on a Multiple Night Stay felt like poor value—I wanted more flexibility in the Plans. - Other entertainment for adults Options for adults within the Hotel—such as cakes at a bar or lounge or shopping—are quite limited. After kids fall asleep or when couples take turns watching them, there’s no easy way to enjoy even a short bit of adult indulgence inside the Hotel during a longer stay, which becomes stressful over multiple nights. There are some restaurants nearby, but it’s not an area where simply taking a stroll feels enjoyable either. - Service Not bad, but not great. Compared with Miyako Hotels or Hilton properties in a similar price range, hospitality and service felt noticeably weaker—though slightly better than Prince Hotels overall. - Guest rooms It’s great that you can see the dolphin pool from your room. I did feel sorry seeing dolphins staying in such a small pool all day long; still, it was an experience that’s hard to find elsewhere and genuinely moving. You can also see the ocean—the location is excellent. In Kobe—where many hotels have older and smaller rooms—it was also nice that many rooms here are relatively spacious. That said (perhaps oddly), circulation within the room wasn’t very well designed and caused some stress; however flat layouts suitable for young children were another plus.

    Perfect for families with children!

    We made a Reservation to visit Kobe Suma Sea World. During our stay, we could enter and exit Sea World as many times as we wanted, and the dedicated entrance for Hotel guests was especially helpful and appreciated. In the soaking zone at the orca show, even with a raincoat on, my sneakers still got completely drenched—so staying overnight was definitely the right choice. The dinner buffet had soft-serve ice cream that you can make yourself, which delighted our child. The selection was different between dinner and breakfast, and everything was very tasty. This is a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again.

    With Dolphins

    This was my second stay, and I was completely satisfied again. From the Hotel front desk, you can see dolphins right away, and when you enter the Room, you can also spot dolphins from the balcony. Joining the morning orca health check was a unique experience that only a SeaWorld Hotel can offer, and I really enjoyed it. I’d love to stay again. Seeing the large parent-and-child orcas was amazing.

    I was moved to see a squid swimming beneath the veranda.

    We stayed here with our family. Seeing dolphins swimming in the pool below our Room’s balcony was a truly special experience. The Room was spacious, new, and very comfortable. The food was delicious, and the lockers were large and easy to use. In addition, guests can enter the aquarium for free twice, which we really appreciated. It was a very satisfying stay for our whole family.

    My First Trip with My Grandchild

    This was our first trip as a group of four—my daughter, my grandchild, and my spouse and I. We chose the more affordable Room, so we expected an extra bed or a sofa bed, but we were pleasantly surprised to have proper beds nearby and slept well. The meals were satisfying, and the guest perks were also great. Thank you very much for being considerate of my grandchild’s allergies. We had a wonderful time visiting SeaWorld for two days, and we would love to come again.

    Convenient and comfortable for visiting Suma Sea World

    The Facility and Room were new, the staff were attentive, and the location next to SeaWorld was convenient and comfortable. However, the shared areas were somewhat lacking. There were too few elevators for the number of guests, and especially around checkout time we often couldn’t get on and had to let several go by. The restaurant was particularly crowded in the morning. Guests joining the morning orca walk event need to eat first thing, so everyone tends to arrive at once. The buffet was interesting with some special menu items, but I’d like to see an improved dinner selection. Breakfast was better. Since we stayed during a holiday period it can’t be helped, but compared with the overall experience, the room rate felt expensive.

    The aquarium was so ...

    The aquarium was so much fun! The hotel was right next door, so after getting soaked by the killer whales, I could run back and shower right away—very convenient. The food was exquisite, and I was very satisfied. The facilities were modern throughout, making it great value for families with children.

    I was impressed by the program.

    I had a wonderful time with my friend who loves aquariums. The meals in the morning and evening were delicious, and everything went smoothly without any waiting time. The morning Orca Walk program helped me understand orca behavior even better than what I learned from the shows and at the restaurant, and it was truly excellent and very fulfilling. I would love to visit again, along with Suma Sea World.

    I had a wonderful birthday.

    The price was very reasonable, including two-day admission to SeaWorld. The dinner and breakfast buffets offered a wide variety of options, with many fresh locally sourced ingredients, and everything was delicious. We would love to visit again.

    The views and the food were both outstanding.

    This Hotel is adjacent to Suma Sea World, and the view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from the Hotel was wonderful. The meals were thoughtfully prepared using fresh seafood, and everything was clean, so we were very satisfied. We enjoyed Suma Sea World with our grandchildren and had delicious food, making it a great birthday memory. If possible, we would be happy to have guest-only perks such as early entry to Suma Sea World or a night tour.

    First Stay

    The orca show at Suma Sea World was so impressive that I wanted to see it again, so this time I decided to stay overnight. The Room feels like a Business Hotel, but since it’s new, everything is very clean. Having a separate bath and toilet was comfortable. Amenities are available next to the front desk for you to take what you need, which avoids waste, and I personally appreciated that they also had bath salts. All Rooms have an ocean view and a balcony. There’s also a desk and chairs, and being able to see the Dolphin Lagoon was fantastic! The dolphins playing were absolutely adorable. We had both breakfast and dinner, and everything was delicious. The live kitchen was a nice touch as well. It also came with a 2-day passport with unlimited re-entry, and for this price including two meals, I think it’s an excellent deal. We even received vouchers that can be used at the souvenir shop. The guests-only evening walk around Suma Sea World was great too! I’d definitely like to stay here again when visiting Suma Sea World.

    A very beautiful resort Business Hotel?

    I stayed at Suma Sea World Hotel to celebrate my birthday along with my grandchildren's family. The location was excellent as it is right next to Sea World. I used to swim in the sea at Suma when I was a child, but seeing how much the area has changed since then left me with mixed feelings. The hotel, being newly built, was very clean, but it felt more like a large Business Hotel rather than a Resort Hotel. The Room was clean and well-maintained without any issues; however, it still had that business hotel vibe... Perhaps this is because most visitors to Sea World are young families with children, so practicality might have been prioritized over luxury. Since it was New Year's season, dinner was served buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes including fresh seafood and kid-friendly options like fried chicken—all of which were delicious. The sushi especially stood out for its freshness and quality toppings such as tuna and sea bream. Breakfast also offered an excellent selection and tasted great. Overall, I would rate the hotel 3–4 out of 5 stars; however, adding more resort-like elements could easily make it a perfect 5-star experience. To enhance the resort feel, there were dolphins swimming in the lagoon in front of the hotel—but unfortunately, the lagoon's cleanliness left something to be desired as the water appeared murky and made me feel sorry for the dolphins. For comparison, at Kahala Hotel in Honolulu Hawaii—where dolphins also swim in their lagoon—the water is crystal clear and creates an ideal environment where both guests and dolphins can enjoy themselves fully within a true resort atmosphere. They even offer dolphin-related activities that are very popular among guests. I hope this hotel takes inspiration from such examples because simply having dolphins swimming isn't enough—it’s important to ensure their well-being too. I look forward to seeing this become Kobe’s top Resort Hotel someday!

    Accommodation on New Year's Eve

    I stayed here twice this year. The meals were delicious. I didn’t know that the first sunrise of the year could be seen from the seaside, but when I opened the window in the morning, I saw a crowd of people on the beach. I realized they had gone to see the first sunrise early in the morning. Although my Room wasn’t positioned perfectly to see it, I still enjoyed it to some extent. The Room was spacious, and I was able to relax during New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, I also enjoyed amazake, which was wonderful. Thank you very much!

    Highly satisfied!

    My daughter loves orcas, so we purchased an annual pass and visit Suma Sea World several times a month. We live nearby and usually don’t need accommodation, but we decided to stay for one night as it was Christmas. Although I typically choose accommodations with onsen or club lounges, my daughter was happier here than at any other hotel! She especially loved that the accommodation is located next to Suma Sea World and that she could watch the dolphins from our room. The Diamond Member benefits like shop vouchers and the exclusive morning walk for guests were also very valuable. One downside was that checkout time is around 10 AM, which made it quite busy, with crowded elevators as well. If checkout could be extended to 11 AM, it might help distribute guests more evenly and make elevator use smoother. The staff members were mostly young but very hardworking and kind. We are planning another stay in February! Thank you very much!

    This was our second ...

    This was our second visit to Suma Sea World, but our first stay at this hotel. Since it’s new, the accommodation and room were very clean. We stayed in a large twin room, which had flooring, a comfortable sofa, an ocean view, two sinks with plenty of space, and a clean toilet. The spacious balcony was a favorite for the kids—they stayed there even after sunset. The adults felt completely at home and enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable stay. Every meal we tried was delicious, leaving us very satisfied.

    Second Stay at Suma Sea World Hotel Following Last Year

    Had lunch at the Orca Restaurant in Suma Sea World, followed by dinner and breakfast at the Hotel—a trip filled with constant dining. Last year, we couldn't enter the Orca Restaurant due to no Reservation, so we tried again this year. After lunch, we returned to the Hotel for a short rest before re-entering Suma Sea World on the same day. We enjoyed watching the Orca and Dolphin shows, toured the aquarium, strolled along the seaside, and then returned to the Hotel. Even with a small grandchild in tow, I felt that it was a child-friendly Hotel thanks to its staff's kindness. Just like last year, we had an amazing time again this visit!

    Accommodation where you can meet Stella and Lan

    A wonderful and very clean accommodation. From the room's balcony, it was relaxing to watch dolphins playing below. The meals were especially excellent, with both the dinner and breakfast buffets being incredibly delicious. The variety of dishes and creative presentation were impressive. However, the lighting in the room's sink area and bathroom was a bit inconvenient as it turned off too quickly after being activated by motion sensors, leaving it dark while bathing. Other than that, everything was perfect, and I would highly recommend this hotel for those wanting to fully enjoy Sea World.

    Stay here for the ultimate Suma Sea experience!

    We discovered this hotel and Suma Sea World while casually watching a YouTube video about aquariums as a family. Our daughter loves aquariums, my husband has never seen an orca, and I once seriously dreamed of becoming a dolphin trainer. There was no reason for us not to go! So we made an immediate reservation. The location is just a 5-minute walk straight from the Suma Kaihin Koen Station exit. Despite its convenient access, the bayside location offers stunning views of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Awaji Island. The Sea World tickets provided by the hotel can be used multiple times on both your check-in day and the following day, allowing you to enjoy it at your own pace without any rush. As for Sea World itself, it’s compact in scale with fewer exhibits compared to larger aquariums, so you can explore it quickly if desired. However, participating in exclusive activities like the Night Tour or Morning Orca Walk available only for hotel guests gives you a whole new perspective on Sea World and deepens your connection with it. Even fish that didn’t catch much attention during daytime visits became fascinating as we learned more about their habits—truly sparking our curiosity. Regarding meals, the buffet offered an excellent variety of dishes with well-balanced flavors; meat dishes were cooked perfectly while there was also an abundance of seafood options which delighted us! The menu featured plenty of local ingredients along with thoughtful touches like kid-friendly options and utensils suitable for all ages—ensuring satisfaction across generations. Now about our room—the highlight was undoubtedly being able to see the dolphin pool attached to the hotel right from our balcony! We brewed coffee or tea in our room as a family and sat on benches on the balcony enjoying serene moments watching dolphins against sunsets over ocean views—a truly relaxing experience. Although we didn’t choose a plan involving direct interaction with dolphins this time around, we were lucky enough to witness trainers working with them performing jumps—it felt like having our own private show! There’s also a coin laundry available onsite which came in handy when we got soaked during one of those thrilling Orca shows (it really saved us!). Lastly but most importantly—the politeness, attentiveness without intrusion, warm smiles from all staff members made this entire Suma Sea World experience unforgettable for us as a family trip destination once per year! The facilities are modern yet simple; they offer convenience while reminding you how exceptional human hospitality can make such stays even more special—we’re so glad we chose this place for our annual getaway!

    Perfect in every way.

    We stayed as a family because my son loves orcas. It was a beautiful Hotel where we could see both the sunset and sunrise from our Room, as well as adorable dolphins. Meals were included, and we enjoyed buffets for both breakfast and dinner. We've tried many buffets in various places, but this one was among the top two, according to our family. Being near the sea, the seafood was especially delicious. We received tickets for unlimited access to the aquarium for two days, so we visited multiple times to see the orcas. My son was thrilled and got soaking wet with excitement. Drinking freshly brewed coffee in the morning while watching the sunrise over the ocean from our balcony was incredible—the sight of several ships slowly moving along the horizon made it even more special. Everything about this stay, including how attentive and kind all Hotel staff were, was truly wonderful. Thank you very much!

    Staying at the hotel and having unlimited access to the aquarium allows for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The happiness of watching dolphins from the balcony was unparalleled. It would be great if there were non-buffet restaurant options for dining.

    I stayed at your hotel for one night with my daughter as we wanted to visit Suma Sea World. The staff's hospitality, service, and the facility were all impeccable. The ocean view was stunning, especially with the great weather, and the view from our room was breathtaking. The bathroom was spacious, the room itself was large and very clean—I wished I could have stayed longer. The meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of options for both dinner and breakfast; everything I tried was incredibly delicious. The staff's attentiveness made dining a pleasant experience. The hotel's amenities were well-stocked, which made me very happy. We traveled by car from another prefecture, and having parking available right near the lobby was extremely convenient. Being so close to the aquarium allowed us to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. We also enjoyed walking along the beach in the evening and morning—it made our stay even more refreshing. This trip turned out to be absolutely perfect! I would love to stay here again in the future and will definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues!

    Enjoy Dolphins

    Thank you for your hospitality. There were dolphins right below the balcony of the Room, and I enjoyed watching their morning health checks, ball games, and training sessions throughout my stay! It felt like being in an aquarium while staying in the Room. The Room was clean and comfortable. Thank you very much!

    Highly satisfied.

    We stayed as a group of three adults to meet local relatives at the aquarium (we came from outside the prefecture). The facility was excellent, and the staff's service was great. Both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying, and I think this price for such quality is amazing. Hotel prices have been rising recently, but this stay offered great quality and value for money.

    It exceeded expectations.

    The Room features an aquarium, allowing you to enjoy watching fish even from the bath. From the balcony, you can see dolphins swimming, providing enjoyment for both adults and children. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes with many elaborate options, exceeding expectations. Please maintain this high quality!

    For my daughter's birthday

    We decided to stay at an accommodation where we could freely enter the aquarium during our stay for my daughter, who loves aquariums. (We were lucky to book it at a discounted sale price.) The highlight dolphin and orca show required an additional fee, but we managed to secure seats reserved for guests, allowing us to enjoy the show without worrying about finding seats. Since it was a weekend during summer vacation, this was very convenient. The buffet-style dinner and breakfast were satisfying in terms of variety, presentation, and taste (considering the price). However, it was a bit disappointing that there were no carbonated soft drinks available. The room was spacious with a great view, allowing us to relax comfortably. However, there was dust on top of the bed board; this stood out because everything else had been cleaned so well. Since it was hot during our stay, we didn’t use the terrace much; however, it looked spacious and seemed like a nice place to relax when it's cooler outside. If given another opportunity in the future, I’d love to visit again during a different season. Thank you!

    Hotel to Enjoy Suma Sea World

    We used the Stay Plan with free admission to Suma Sea World during our stay. Our family of four traveled by car, and although the entrance was small for such a large Hotel, we initially thought there might be another main entrance. The Hotel had a system where you pick up necessary amenities near the lobby elevator before heading to your Room, and there was no large public bath. However, it was clean, with a bathroom that included a washing area and two sinks—simple yet meeting all our needs. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style and very delicious. We especially enjoyed the roast beef at dinner, going back for seconds multiple times, making our stay very pleasant.

    At night, my child felt unwell while sleeping and accidentally soiled the bed. Thank you to the front desk for replacing all the bedding and bringing drinking water. Also, thank you for lending us a thermometer and coming to our room multiple times without hesitation. I deeply appreciate the female staff member who kindly assisted us despite the trouble caused. Since my child loves orcas, we would love to stay at this accommodation again when visiting Kobe.
