A relaxing and soothing stay.
The meals made generous use of vegetables and fruit, and everything felt designed to support a detox effect. The Onsen was also excellent, and I felt refreshed. However, while the property focuses on wood and seems to have carefully considered amenities, it was disappointing that there were no essentials such as toner, lotion, or cleansing products. I think it would be better to include necessities and keep non-essential items more basic. I stayed for two nights. The Accommodation is about as far from the station as you can get. It was also disappointing that there was no Shuttle Service on the second day.

Had a great time.
This was my first visit. Since it was a weekday in January, there were relatively few other guests, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing time. The most impressive part was the meals. Both dinner and breakfast featured dishes made with seasonal vegetables, which were exceptional and uniquely delicious. I look forward to visiting again during a different season. The staff's warm smiles left a great impression, and their willingness to accommodate requests made for an excellent experience. The room and bath were highly satisfactory. However, the voices of foreign staff and younger staff were too quiet to understand, so we hope this can be improved. We had a multiple night stay, and the vegetable and wine service on the first day was excellent! However, the dishes overall had too many herbs, which caused digestive issues. We heard that Japanese cuisine is served from the third night onward, but it would be great if there were an option to choose Japanese cuisine earlier. Alternatively, it would be helpful to include this information as a note when completing the reservation. This could benefit both your accommodation and your guests.

Mount Yufu right in ...
Mount Yufu right in front of you A very scenic accommodation I heard that my mother climbed Mount Yufu many times when she was young, so I brought her here. She was deeply moved by the view of Mount Yufu from the room, and I truly felt it was worth bringing her. The staff were all wonderful, making our stay very comfortable. If only the weather had been better...

A Stay That Refreshes Both Body and Mind
It was my first stay, but I had a very comfortable and pleasant time. The sauna offered a stunning view and a sense of openness, providing a truly refreshing experience. The concept is good, but...
I was looking forward to staying in Oita as I had wanted to visit for a long time, but... I felt uncomfortable with the reception upon arrival. There were many foreign staff members, and their Japanese was not very fluent. Even when they got my name wrong, there was no apology, and the explanation for first-time guests was extremely minimal, leaving me dissatisfied with the service. The female staff member who showed us to our Room was very kind and provided a thorough explanation. The Room had a private pool with an open-air bath and was very clean, but the shower room was located on the opposite side of the living room and bedroom. This meant I had to dry off and step outside after washing before soaking in the bath, making the layout of the water facilities inconvenient to use. As for meals, the first two dishes were served buffet-style in the garden, followed by French cuisine featuring freshly harvested vegetables grown at the Facility. The food was delicious; however, I couldn't understand any of what staff explained about each dish due to language barriers... This diminished my appreciation for what should have been concept-driven cuisine. Since it focused heavily on vegetables, my son and his wife—who stayed with me—encountered some vegetables they disliked and could barely eat anything, which was disappointing. While I appreciated its luxurious design and unique concept, given its price point, my overall satisfaction was low. It left me feeling disappointed as I had been so excited beforehand. Perhaps this place would appeal more to younger guests who enjoy such an atmosphere and have no budget concerns.

A Day Off with My Daughter
This is my second stay. Last year, I was able to relax and refresh both my body and mind, so I decided to visit again this year. My daughter especially became a fan of the chef's cuisine and eagerly wanted to return. Once again, the food was exceptional, and we were very satisfied. The dishes are vegetable-based but have complex flavors with great variety. As vegetable lovers, we truly enjoyed every dish. However, the portions were a bit too large for me as an older guest, which was slightly disappointing as I couldn't finish everything. The room is spacious and very comfortable to relax in. The bathwater feels amazing and is incredibly soothing. When I entered before dinner, I could hear birds chirping... Before bedtime, there were insect sounds (like crickets)... And in the morning, cicadas singing... I felt deeply connected to nature—it was truly moving. The staff members were also very kind—thank you so much! It became a wonderful holiday with my daughter.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay again!
Two months ago, we visited for the first time and had an extremely satisfying stay, so we decided to return this time. The greenery was even more lush, and just taking a walk was incredibly soothing. The temperature was over 5 degrees cooler than the scorching heat of Tokyo, making it truly comfortable. Although our schedule was a bit tight this time and we arrived late, we were able to relax in the Room after dinner. Chef Tashi Jamtsö's talented cooking was once again impressive. Last time featured carrots as the main ingredient, but this time it was various types of zucchini—such a delightful experience! The breakfast was also absolutely delicious!! We hope to visit again during another season.

A Wonderful Auberge
From the natural stone-paved driveway to the warm welcome from the staff, every detail surprises and delights. Entering through a deliberately narrow entrance between buildings into the lobby, you are greeted by an architectural design reminiscent of traditional Sukiya-style, where spaces gradually open up as you proceed further inside. Instead of a conventional check-in counter, guests enjoy yogurt ice cream while completing their check-in process. The lobby seamlessly integrates with the restaurant. Access to guest rooms is via external pathways, and for rooms located on higher ground, there is an electric cart shuttle service available. The Rooms accommodation we stayed in was two stories high; our room on the second floor offered views not of Yufuin town but rather lush greenery from carefully planned landscaping on slopes and gardens—a sight that must be breathtaking during autumn foliage. For panoramic views, opting for villa accommodations situated higher up may be preferable. Beyond just room design, it’s evident that this property’s designer has profound expertise in both architecture and interior design, striving to meet high expectations set by its owner without compromise. The thoughtful scale of each space, meticulous attention to detail in craftsmanship, careful material selection—all contribute to creating understated yet luxurious comfort. This dedication extends beyond guest rooms into the restaurant as well—flawless interiors and furniture choices enhance every moment spent here. From dramatic presentations starting at the greenhouse-like setting to impeccable service throughout meals—both dinner and breakfast were exceptional culinary experiences praised by many guests before us. However, some seating areas may have views of luggage carts which could slightly detract from an otherwise perfect ambiance. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the Onsen facilities as well. With its refined spaces and services paired with unforgettable cuisine—it was truly a remarkable experience worth cherishing!

Stayed at the Hillto...
Stayed at the Hilltop Sky Pavilion A with a stunning view of Yufu City. As a Diamond Member, I enjoyed a discounted rate along with complimentary wine and other drinks—such a delight! Upon entering the room, the staff kindly opened the automatic curtains, revealing breathtaking views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Sipping drinks while admiring the scenery, soaking in the Onsen, or swimming in the pool—it was pure luxury for me! The entire Facility was stylish and beautifully designed. The dishes made with fresh vegetables were not only visually vibrant but also incredibly delicious, leaving both my stomach and heart satisfied. From welcome to farewell, every aspect of service provided by the staff was impeccable. I had an extraordinary and blissful time here. I can’t wait to visit again!

The more questions you ask, the more you'll realize the greatness of ENOWA.
As a train enthusiast, I decided to stay at "ENOWA YUFUIN" again following my visit in April, as I wanted to ride JR Kyushu's train "Kanpachi-Ichiroku" from Hakata to Yufuin. This time, we stayed in the most affordable option, The Rooms, but the room was far more charming than it appeared on IKYU.com. During this season, Yufuin is relatively quiet and peaceful as it is the off-season. I enjoyed watching fireflies in silence and being soothed by the lush green scenery—my favorite time of year. From our second-floor room in The Rooms, we could see greenery through the trees. We left both curtains and blinds open to fully enjoy the refreshing atmosphere while relaxing in our room. This time, we shared our plans and schedule with them beforehand. They prepared meals, shuttle service, and other arrangements accordingly so that we could spend a truly meaningful stay. Thank you very much for everything. My spouse and I are deeply interested in how food ingredients are produced—we enjoy battling insects for our balcony garden vegetables or making miso paste ourselves; we've also visited wooden barrel soy sauce breweries or grass-fed cattle farms before. Because of this interest, ENOWA's initiatives resonate strongly with us. Every question we asked about their efforts only brought forth words like "amazing." I particularly loved their crispy bacon at breakfast. We hope to visit again next year. Thank you very much!

The food and accommodation were excellent!
The RELAIS & CHATEAUX logo at the hotel entrance caught my eye, and I later learned it also holds two Michelin stars. This accommodation was a serendipitous find by my companion, and we had no prior knowledge of such accolades. It turned out to be an exceptional hotel brimming with hospitality. The accommodation is relatively new, with everything fresh and the expansive grounds still in their early stages of growth, exuding a sense of novelty. The room baths and pool, designed using abundant Yufuin hot spring water, were innovative. The highlight of this accommodation is undoubtedly its exquisite cuisine. I heard that the chef started preparing from soil cultivation years ago to create dishes featuring seasonal vegetables in various forms—each dish was a delightful surprise. As a food enthusiast who travels to France several times a year, it reminded me of Mirazur in southern France. I would love to visit again!

It was a special time.
The weather on the day of our visit was unfortunately rainy. Despite the heavy rain and wind causing delays in transportation, the Shuttle Service was adjusted to match our arrival time. When we mentioned missing lunch, we were kindly recommended a great soba restaurant. It lifted our spirits and satisfied our hunger. During the Shuttle Service, we made two special requests, both of which were promptly accommodated. Thank you so much for your flexibility. At check-in, we were welcomed with fragrant milk tea and delightful sweets. The anticipation for the fresh vegetables heightened as soon as we arrived. The Room was a luxurious single-story space. Although the semi-open-air bath felt too exposed for us at first, staff quickly lowered curtains to make us feel more comfortable. However, it was slightly inconvenient that carts and people passed by quite close to the bath area; this required some attention while bathing and limited enjoyment of the view. Dinner was a series of new experiences! Despite being busy, the head chef greeted us at the beginning of dinner service, which added excitement to an already wonderful meal. Every dish amazed us with its beauty and taste—each plate left a lasting impression with its vibrant sauces that brought joy to every bite. Breakfast also featured rare ingredients that allowed us to fully enjoy another exceptional meal. The staff provided attentive yet relaxed service throughout our stay, allowing us to unwind completely in comfort. This Hotel is one I would definitely like to visit again someday. A place to update yourself
The Yufudake view room is located in a position where it can occasionally be seen briefly by cars coming down the slope, so as mentioned on the official website, we recommend bringing swimwear. We brought disposable bathing clothes and enjoyed a relaxing soak in the onsen. Once you're immersed in the water, privacy is maintained. However, since you need to pass through your room when moving between the shower and outdoor bath, The Rooms might have a better layout for this. As we've aged and started finding meals at high-end ryokans too heavy, we were looking forward to enjoying vegetable-focused dishes that could continue to bring us joy during meals. The result was an unprecedented culinary experience that left both of us satisfied. That said, from an amateur's perspective... While "sweetness" is often praised in food reviews, I personally wouldn't enjoy if everything—from vegetables and bread to meat and desserts—tasted predominantly sweet. Depending on harvest seasons, I would love to see more "bitterness" from ingredients like wild plants or bitter melon (goya). It would surely delight mature palates like ours and perhaps even make my husband's drink disappear faster. This time around, many dishes seemed overly sweet to me. While I appreciated the natural sweetness of vegetables, achieving better balance where possible could enhance the experience further. For instance, there were three types of bread served at breakfast; however, after tasting just one slice of white bread—which felt overwhelmingly sweet—I couldn't bring myself to try either croissant or scone. Having once failed at baking bread with less than half its usual sugar content using a home bakery machine (it barely rose), I understand these challenges well! Still though—if paired with recommended jams—a different type of bread might work better here overall! Upon returning home later though—the croissants & scones provided turned out deliciously delightful instead! It’s exciting seeing such unique auberges emerge within beloved Yufuin town itself—and ENOWA YUFUIN undoubtedly stands poised towards growing prominence ahead further still! Its non-pretentious architecture alone remains awe-inspiring already! Given how flavors involving herbs like dill/fennel/mint tend dividing opinions widely amongst people alike beforehand—it’d help ensuring clear understanding pre-reservation stages accordingly likewise too beforehand ideally altogether also! Everything is excellent.
Modern design with meticulous architecture, perfect facilities, and top-notch hospitality. The cuisine is even more incredible, unique, and absolutely delicious. As a restaurant, it is of Michelin 3-star class. I had the best time ever.

Internationally recognized Hotel
It is not a cheap hotel, but it has a great location and the quality of the onsen in the room is very high. Of course, the overall comfort of the room, as well as the quality of the beds and linens, is also good. Additionally, Chef Tashi's cuisine is not only about the concept but also involves a consistent flow from agriculture to the table, employing cutting-edge methods from around the world. One cannot help but admire the effort and conviction involved. I was impressed that Chef Tashi even handled breakfast. Of course, the cuisine is on a completely different vector from the "high-end onsen ryokan cuisine" you might find elsewhere, so some guests might be taken aback. However, in 5 or 10 years, people will finally realize, "I actually had such amazing food at that hotel!" I hope that more guests will deepen their understanding of the quality and approach of this cuisine.

I stayed at the vill...
I stayed at the villa, and from the open-air bath in the room, I had a direct view of Mount Yufu, which was very pleasant and enjoyable. What was particularly wonderful was the restaurant. Dinner was, of course, excellent, and breakfast was also superb. My middle school son was amazed by the colorful presentation of the dishes and the deliciousness of the vegetables. We planned a trip to Kyushu because my son wanted to ride a ferry. Choosing this property for our last stay was a great decision. Thank you very much.

The concept is clear.
About the Facility Staying at THE ROOMS: ○ No floor heating. ○ No towel warmer. ○ Toilet seat does not lift or lower automatically. ○ The temperature in the balcony bath is uneven, with cooler water at the bottom and hotter water at the top; automatic circulation would be appreciated. ○ No floor heating. ○ The bed is too close to the window, making it uncomfortable. ○ The view from the window faces a hilltop accommodation with 10 rooms, which was disappointing; having windows on the opposite side would have been less concerning. About Cuisine: A unique course mainly featuring vegetables, offering a rare and valuable dining experience likely only available here. The amenities felt limited. Additionally, there were few beverages in the refrigerator.

A trip for two with my daughter

Perfect for treating yourself.
It was a trip that served as both a gift for my mother and a reward for myself. The shuttle service was provided by a lovely car with staff in suits, which made us feel very secure and luxurious. Although it was raining, the garden viewed from the entrance had a modern and stylish atmosphere that was picturesque. The hospitality of the staff was very warm, friendly, and courteous, which made my mother happy. The room was simple yet stylish and comfortable, like a luxury apartment, with a focus on usability. The attention to detail in the interior, amenities, and cleanliness was impressive. Since it was the lowest grade room, the view was not enjoyable, but it was not a problem as the weather was not favorable. The bath was lovely, but my mother found the flow from the shower booth to the bath on the terrace a bit inconvenient. The meals were served in a restaurant, and before taking our seats, a special experience was prepared, making us feel like we were in another world, which greatly impressed my mother and me. Each dish was crafted with great care, and the bread baked in the restaurant was exquisite. The breakfast, with vegetables and eggs grown in the restaurant, was also impressive. Unfortunately, as we are light eaters, we couldn't finish everything, but it was a healthy and artistic creative French cuisine that appealed to women. I recommend it to those who want an experience different from a typical Onsen Ryokan. I would like to stay in a different room if I have the opportunity again.

It's a wonderful auberge, but the service is a bit disappointing.
A wonderful auberge has been born in Yufuin, where there has been no satisfying Stays until now. The cuisine is more than expected, and the Room is comfortable. The service staff left a very good impression, but it was disappointing that some Japanese service staff were unpleasant or forgot requests.

I see, that's how it is.
The staff who welcomed us were from the same hometown, which created a comfortable atmosphere for asking questions, and we were able to understand how to spend our time well. As it is a new Facility, both the guest rooms and the open-air bath were reasonably comfortable. However, the open-air bath with flowing water requires about a minute of stirring when you first enter, as the lower part of the bathtub is cold. This is something to be cautious of during the upcoming colder season. Other than the meals, everything was neither good nor bad. I rated the meals a 5, but if there were a rating above 6, it would definitely be above 6. The explanation of "meals" and "farm" on the website was only understood after actually tasting them. Honestly, I thought the vegetables were exaggerated. This perception was overturned by the turnip I had at the Farm Bar. The temperature and texture when I put it in my mouth made me realize that to provide this, it must be harvested with careful judgment of size and freshness, rather than just daily farm management. The temperature control was calculated backward from the serving time, and it was not something stored in a refrigerator, but rather cooked in a way suitable for each ingredient. Although I usually dislike sansho with eel rice, I sensed the aroma of sansho in the chestnut dessert and didn't find it unpleasant at all. It was a meal where I could feel the chef's sensibility and delicacy with all my senses. As I'm not good with alcohol, I felt it would obscure the quality of the ingredients, so I chose mineral water and was convinced it was the right choice after finishing everything. At the checkout time, it was explained that the chef was out at the farm. I thought, indeed, that's how uncompromising meals are provided.

The food, in particular, was exquisite.
First of all, regarding the facility, the building and hotel were modern and beautiful. The room was spacious enough and had a luxurious feel. The open-air bath on the balcony was said to be possibly too hot, but it was just right and comfortable. The staff's service was excellent. As for the food, I've eaten at various places before, but personally, it was among the top levels I've ever experienced. I've never seen a dish that elevates the potential of vegetables to this extent, and there were plenty of dishes, both in variety and quantity. It's not a place I can easily visit from my home, but I definitely want to go again. Thank you for all your considerations this time.

A holiday with my daughter
My daughter and I were really looking forward to our stay. We were especially excited about the meals, but the room and the hot springs exceeded our expectations, and everything was wonderful. Usually, even when we visit hot spring resorts, we don't enter the hot springs more than twice, but it was so pleasant that we ended up going in four times. We were informed that the temperature was set at 44 degrees, and since I generally prefer hotter water, the bath was just right for me. The cuisine was truly amazing, with a variety of vegetable-based dishes that were all new to me, and I was impressed. The portions were generally large, but since they were mainly vegetables, they were gentle on the stomach. The room was spacious and allowed us to relax comfortably. The staff, mostly young, were very kind and attentive. It's a wonderful hotel that makes me want to stay again. Thank you for taking care of us.

Wonderful hotel!
I came with my daughter and her husband. Both rooms were spacious enough for everyone to relax and enjoy. The room with the pool was especially in a great location and was truly wonderful. We were able to enjoy dinner at a leisurely pace, and everyone unanimously agreed that the ingredients were just delicious. Breakfast was also tasty, but we couldn't finish it, so we took the bread home and enjoyed it together. Every staff member provided excellent and attentive service, making our stay even more pleasant. It was such a wonderful hotel that I would love to come back again.
