HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO

I was able to stay at Nene 103 during cherry blossom season.From the Room window, I could see the cherry blossoms in Kodaiji Park, and at night I fully enjoyed viewing the illuminated Yasaka Pagoda and the night cherry blossoms, as well as admiring the blossoms from the Room.Both dinner at Funatsuru and breakfast at Heian Shrine were excellent.The Room is located along Nene-no-Michi, so during cherry blossom season many tourists pass by and it can be noisy during the day, but it was quiet at night and I was able to sleep well.The location is also great, making early-morning sightseeing at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Yasaka Pagoda very convenient.I did notice that the washroom and toilet are connected, which felt a bit cramped.I visit Kyoto several times every year, and this stay made for my best Kyoto trip yet.Thank you very much.

This was a trip with my wife and our 1-year-old son. It was his first real trip, and we were looking for an Accommodation that could welcome families with children. That’s how we found VMG Kyoto, and we chose to stay here. In the end, it was absolutely the right decision.The Room was spacious, with a wonderful balance of traditional charm and modern comfort, so we could truly relax. The lounge also had unlimited drinks—of course alcohol, but also 100% mandarin orange juice and apple juice that children can enjoy, which made our son very happy. We were worried he might fall off the bed, so we really appreciated that they accommodated us with futon bedding.The location is very Kyoto-like, surrounded by beautiful historic streetscapes. Kodai-ji Temple is right in front of you, and if you walk a little farther you can easily explore Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Shrine, and Gion on foot.The meals were outstanding as well: dinner was a French course at an affiliated restaurant, and breakfast can be enjoyed at Heian Shrine. At the restaurant our child unexpectedly fell asleep, but they quickly prepared a makeshift bed for him; when he started getting bored during the meal later on, they brought out stuffed toys to help keep him entertained. Transportation to and from the dining venue is by taxi arranged by the Hotel, so you can travel without any worries. On the way back after breakfast at Heian Shrine, they even give you a taxi voucher if you want to explore nearby first so you can return on your own schedule. Since our child is currently obsessed with animals, we went to the zoo after Heian Shrine breakfast; then we stopped by Nanzen-ji Temple before having lunch and returning to the Hotel.If I had to mention one area for improvement: there is no dedicated Hotel parking lot, so you need to use nearby paid parking.All of the Hotel staff were kind and happily accommodated us regarding traveling with a child as well as allergies and food preferences/dislikes.We are truly grateful.
