Setsugetsuka Annex Suiun (Kyoritsu Resort)

We visited for the first time in two years to enjoy the New Year. Our main purpose was to watch the Hakone Ekiden, and once again, we had a wonderful stay. The early check-in time was very convenient. The Japanese sweets provided were all elegant and incredibly delicious. Preparing matcha tea was a unique experience—slightly nerve-wracking but enjoyable nonetheless. Personally, I was impressed by the Ekiden-themed beer cans during our last visit and hoped to see them again this time, though I understand it might be challenging to provide them regularly. Looking forward to visiting again with high expectations!

[Purpose of Stay]・We stayed here for an anniversary.[Exterior & Garden]・The Ryokan’s main entrance was impressive and beautiful.・The garden is well maintained and has a charming atmosphere.・Even in midwinter,, the koi were swimming energetically.[Lobby & First Floor]・You take off your shoes at the entrance,, and the staff will put them away for you.. Inside,, you go barefoot or wear socks/tabi (provided inin theroom).・For check-in,, we were shown to a private dining room.. At that time we received complimentary fruit dessertdessertand tea.. They said it was homemade,,and it was very delicious.・There is aa 24-hour shop,,and you can choose aa colored yukata there to wear insideinside theryokan).[Room]・Garden-side Japanese-style Twin Deluxe・A pleasant scent from an incense burner greeted us when we entered.・It’s more than spacious enough for two people.・・Each area—such as thesuch asbedroomand hallway—is completely separated by sliding doorsdoorsso it feels very private,,,which I liked.・・Having aa TV inin theroomwas aa big plus.・・The refrigerator had complimentary beerbeerteacoffee,and moremore).[Toilet & Water Area]・・Hand drying is with paper towels rather than cloth towels.. It stays hygienic,,,but they’re slightly hard to pull out—my only minor downside.・・There are sinks/washbasins throughoutthe Roomwhich is convenientconvenient).[Bath]・・We usedthe natural Onsen open-air bath attached tothe Room).・・The Onsen water had aa slight silky feel,and it felt greatgreat).・・It connects directly tothe Room balcony,,,so having space to relax after bathing was aa big plusplus).・・The water temperature itself is quite hot,,,so please add cold water or letit cool down over timeover time).・・Duringthe dayyou can see thenatural mountains,and at nightthe moonand stars look beautifulbeautiful)—we loved thatthat).*We didn’t use them this timetimebut baskets are providedfor use atthe public bathor private bathsprivate baths).[Dinner/Breakfast]・・・Dinnerwas servedin our Roomwhile breakfastwas served inthe dining areaarea).・・・Each dishwas carefully preparedwith refined seasoningseasoningand everything tasted excellentexcellent).・・・With dinnerin our Roombottomless drinkswere includedasaa complimentary service.. In addition,the lounge offered unlimited alcoholalcoholjuice,and other drinksdrinks).Overall Impression・・・We could relax andenjoy ourselves allthe way until checkoutcheckoutmakingit an amazing experienceexperience). It’sa Ryokanthat made us wantto stay againagain!
