Your First Visit to Akita
My first time in Akita. It was also my first time staying at a Ryokan. The atmosphere was calm, and the staff who assisted us were very kind. The food was delicious as well. I would like to stay here again when I visit Akita. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation offers beautiful scenery!
Because it was ranked “2nd in Reviews in Tohoku,” we stayed here during our trip to Akita. The Room and Onsen were good, but the amenities, the hair dryer, and above all the meals were not very satisfying. Everyone has different tastes, and there are many different Reviews! Since it’s not an easy place to visit often, it was a bit disappointing. However, the proprietress and staff provided excellent service!

I felt a strong sense of unity.
Perhaps because we had stayed the previous night at an old folk-house-style Accommodation with a bath in Kakunodate, we felt a sense of space, brightness, and excitement as soon as we arrived. Was it the owner’s training? We strongly felt the staff’s unity. You don’t often feel that kind of togetherness!

Great view
The facilities weren’t luxurious, but they were calm and clean. I would have liked a sauna in the large public bath, but I was satisfied with the open-air bath in my Room. The meals were carefully prepared and delicious. The rice was especially good—just what you’d expect from Akita. I was also able to watch the sunset, so I was very satisfied.

An extraordinary escape with the finest hospitality
On my first trip to Akita, I stayed at “Teisui.” The extraordinary setting and top-tier hospitality exceeded my expectations, allowing me to truly relax and enjoy a special time away from everyday life. I stayed in a spacious Room with an open-air bath. What stood out most was the full-glass sliding door separating the outdoors from the bath area—soaking while taking in a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan was simply unforgettable. The sea’s ever-changing beauty throughout the day was breathtaking, and being able to enjoy the Onsen in complete privacy without worrying about other guests felt like a uniquely blissful experience at “Teisui.” The dining was also highly satisfying. Both dinner and breakfast featured kaiseki cuisine made with an abundance of Akita’s seasonal seafood and mountain ingredients. Fresh local produce was beautifully presented, making each meal a delight for both the eyes and palate. In particular, I was impressed by their exceptional attention to rice: they intentionally served different varieties at dinner and breakfast. It truly reflected Akita’s reputation as a premier rice region, and I could feel the thoughtful hospitality in every detail. Thank you for providing such attentive and comfortable service from check-in to check-out. The staff’s warm smiles, considerate care, and clear explanations of each dish were professional yet welcoming, with a comforting sense of warmth throughout. The views, Room, meals, and service were all outstanding—this was an Onsen trip I couldn’t have been happier with. I would love to return again.

Dream Accommodation
I had long dreamed of visiting Teisui. The weather wasn’t great, so I couldn’t see the famous sunset, but the snow falling over the sea had its own charm. The breathtaking views from the lobby and my Room were incredible—I never got tired of them. The Room was spotless and very comfortable, and the open-air bath with an ocean view was simply amazing. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious, far beyond my expectations—and the white rice was outstanding. I also appreciated that they made onigiri from the rice I couldn’t finish. At breakfast, I enjoyed more white rice with a variety of accompaniments, and it was wonderful that seating was arranged to face the sea. With such warm hospitality from all the staff—including those who provided Shuttle Service and guided me to my Room—I would love to return. I will never forget seeing the proprietress waving until we were out of sight. Thank you for a truly wonderful time.

It was incredibly relaxing.
The beautiful scenery, delicious cuisine, scenic open-air bath, and warm hospitality were incredibly soothing and truly moving!! From our Room we could see the ocean, with nothing blocking the view—an amazing景色. It was dark at night, but in the morning the view was wonderful and we really felt close to nature. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with great attention to detail; everything looked beautiful and tasted fantastic! There were also some unique dishes, so we enjoyed every moment. We were also happy to find delicious sake. The photos are just a small selection! There was a wide variety, and we were very satisfied. The Onsen includes separate women’s/men’s baths as well as private baths. We used the women’s bath at night and the in-Room open-air bath in the morning. The amenities were plentiful, and I personally loved that the hair dryer had strong airflow—definitely a big plus for me! The morning in-Room open-air bath was absolutely amazing: soaking in an Onsen at just the right temperature while looking out over the ocean made us so happy. We also appreciated being able to connect streaming services like Netflix on the TV in our Room. After bathing, we bought drinks at the shop and relaxed while watching dramas—it was wonderfully calming. Honestly, it was such a blissful place that we didn’t want to leave, and we’d love to come back again soon. Thank you very much for your outstanding hospitality!

Thank you very much for your kind support.
I visited during an exceptionally cold spell that happens once in a decade. Due to the weather, there was concern that the Oga Line might stop on my departure day. The staff kindly looked up bus options to Akita Station and even prepared to drive me to the bus departure point (though in the end, the Oga Line operated on schedule). Since I had to return to Tokyo that same day, their support gave me great peace of mind. The best feature of this accommodation is its location. Situated on a small hill near the sea, it offers stunning views of the horizon. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath, which also provided excellent ocean views. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the sunset due to cloudy weather, but it would have been spectacular if visible. As for meals, dinner was delightful—featuring Yurigyu fillet steak and sashimi (cold yellowtail and botan shrimp), both incredibly delicious. The white rice was outstandingly tasty as expected from a renowned rice-producing region. The selection of sake was impressive and reasonably priced as well. However, breakfast left less of an impression; while the white rice and miso soup were excellent, other side dishes were not particularly memorable—so I rated meals slightly lower overall. The room’s bath uses 100% natural hot spring water with reddish-brown hues that seemed very therapeutic. The size of the tub and water temperature were perfect for relaxing at leisure. The room itself was clean with comfortable beds and a cozy living area sofa. The staff were friendly and attentive; chatting with them added warmth to my stay amidst harsh weather conditions. Thank you for your kind hospitality—I look forward to visiting again!

Located on a hill overlooking the Sea of Japan, the view is spectacular. The private open-air bath offers particularly stunning scenery. The Room's open-air bath is designed with an inner terrace, so it stays warm when closed during this season, and when opened while bathing, you can enjoy the refreshing breeze and beautiful view. Thank you very much. The staff were also very kind and attentive—thank you for your hospitality.

Although Akita Prefecture may have concerns about bears, the Oga Peninsula seems relatively safer based on online information. This accommodation offers excellent onsen in the guest rooms and provides a unique experience with the rough waves of the Sea of Japan right before your eyes. The staff are doing their best, and even if there are no towels in the large public bath or beer available in the lounge, these can be overlooked. However, I would like to see more effort put into improving the cuisine. The facility and onsen are excellent, which raises expectations even higher. While the appetizers at dinner were visually delightful and the abalone was tender and delicious, I found that the sashimi did not meet my expectations. Additionally, it would be better if breakfast items like rolled omelets and fish were served warm. I believe this accommodation has great potential and look forward to its future improvements.

I'm so glad I stayed here.
I stayed for a multiple night stay. The quality of the radon onsen in the room was excellent. Watching the sunset over the horizon of the Sea of Japan at Unosaki Coast was breathtaking. From within the accommodation's premises, I enjoyed views of the Milky Way and countless stars. The delicious meals and rice were served in just the right portions. It was a peaceful and quiet accommodation where I could completely forget about the hustle and bustle of city life for three days.

Wonderful Accommodation
A family trip to Tohoku for three. We stayed again at "Teisui," which left a strong impression when we visited in March. The highlight of this accommodation is undoubtedly the view. As soon as you arrive, you're overwhelmed by the vast Sea of Japan visible from the lobby. If the weather is good, you can see the sunset, and it's nice that the front desk displays the sunset time. At check-in, there's a system where you can choose your necessary amenities, and I was personally delighted with non-slip soles on tabi socks—a thoughtful touch. The room was a semi-Western style with an open atmosphere and very clean. There was even complimentary gelato in the freezer for each guest. The private room bath had reddish-brown water that was slightly lukewarm—perhaps adjusted for summer—making it so comfortable that I could soak endlessly. Thanks to its mineral properties, my body felt warm even after getting out of the bath; instead of cooling down, I felt pleasantly hot! Since Oga is famous for salt, enjoying salt milk-flavored gelato afterward made it an unforgettable experience. In addition to private baths in rooms, there are several other baths (shared or private) available free of charge if unoccupied at that moment. By the way, sunsets can also be enjoyed from your room's bath! Although it was slightly cloudy during our stay, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of our long-awaited sunset as clouds cleared briefly during sundown. Next to our room’s bath was a small relaxation space; opening up its balcony window let in September’s cool breeze while watching sunlight gradually sink into calm seas below—a serene moment enhanced by sipping beer amidst nature's tranquility far removed from city life. After such rejuvenating moments came dinner filled with heartfelt hospitality: 16 colorful appetizers offered visual delight alongside their exquisite taste; thickly sliced sashimi amazed us—especially plump flounder—and paired perfectly with soy sauce crafted uniquely by their head chef delivering unmatched depth compared elsewhere. And speaking about Akita Prefecture—it’s all about rice! Each guestroom gets freshly cooked Akita Komachi rice prepared individually using traditional pots—the grains stood firm yet tenderly delicious enough alone but paired wonderfully when sprinkled lightly over provided salt too! Though we finished every bite due sheer tastiness (leaving no leftovers), they kindly offer making any remaining portions into rice balls upon request instead! Moreover friendly staff added charm throughout mealtime sharing tips enhancing dishes’ flavors explaining local specialties ensuring enjoyable dining experiences overall! Hoping someday soon revisit again!

Infinity Room with Stunning Open-Air Bath!
An extraordinary location perched on a high plateau at the tip of the Oga Peninsula. Open the outer door of your veranda with an open-air bath, and you'll be greeted by the vast expanse of the Sea of Japan. The spacious tub comfortably accommodates two, allowing you to immerse yourself while gazing out at an infinity view over the sea. The surprisingly hearty and straightforward meals are also quite satisfying. On a day when the weather changed dramatically, we experienced thunderclaps, waterspouts over the sea, a stunning sunset, followed by another storm—just watching nature's spectacle outside was endlessly captivating. A truly exceptional experience that guarantees a return visit.

A Relaxing Accommodation with Stunning Views and Delicious Cuisine
Having visited the main building several times in the past, I returned to experience the newly opened annex. The new annex features open-air baths in every room, allowing guests to relax while enjoying views of the Sea of Japan. Dinner was a delightful array of dishes made with local ingredients, both visually and tastefully refined. The freshly cooked Akita Komachi rice was so delicious that I wished I could have had more, but I was already full! Dining while watching the sunset was truly an unforgettable experience. This accommodation has a rich history as even Emperor Showa once stayed here. However, it continues to evolve through the dedicated efforts of its proprietress. While there are no flashy performances or attractions, it is an ideal retreat for travelers seeking quiet relaxation. With renovations also completed on the main building and under the skilled management of its proprietress, this wonderful accommodation is sure to continue thriving and improving further.

I was very satisfied.
I decided on a sudden trip to Akita, so I made a last-minute reservation and couldn't book a room with a private open-air bath, but it was still absolutely amazing. Amenities are taken at check-in as needed, and the room has only a shower. There are four private baths, including open-air ones, which you can use if they are available. Bring your room towel when going to the bath. A welcome drink is also available in the lounge whenever you want to enjoy it. You can see the effort put into reducing management costs while maintaining quality service at this accommodation. From the moment I entered the accommodation, I was overwhelmed and moved by the stunning view. In the private open-air bath, I could relax while enjoying that scenery. The meals were incredibly delicious, and the staff's attention to detail in their hospitality made my stay very comfortable. The room wasn't very spacious but had enough space for comfort; above all, the view from the window was breathtakingly beautiful with perfectly clean windows that allowed me to enjoy looking outside pleasantly. The meals were not only delicious in their main dishes but also showcased high-level culinary skills through details like pickles and sauces—truly exceptional dining. I had been feeling down recently due to various reasons but was able to refresh myself completely during this stay. Thank you so much!

Beautiful Hidden Accommodation
This accommodation was chosen on the way back from Shirakami Sanchi during a trip from Aomori to Akita. Initially, the Oga Peninsula wasn't our main destination, but it turned out to be a great choice. The drive with the rental car offered unexpectedly enjoyable scenery, making it an even more delightful journey. My impression of the Oga Peninsula was that it would be flat due to the reclaimed land of Lake Hachirogata, but surprisingly, it had rich undulations with mountains extending close to the coastline—offering stunning views. The accommodation at Taisui seemed to have been established quite some time ago but had just undergone renovations. The luxurious feel of the facility, excellent cuisine, and wonderful onsen were all well worth their cost! We were especially fortunate with clear weather and enjoyed a breathtaking sunset. Watching the sun sink into the horizon in a cloudless sky—a perfect circle turning into a daruma shape and then disappearing as a half-circle—was like witnessing an incredible show. The view from our room was also spectacular. The next day, when consulting about our return route, we received advice that heading south along the coast would be more enjoyable given the good weather. Thanks to this suggestion, we fully enjoyed visiting places like Senjojiki and small villages along our journey. Next time, I plan to create a travel plan specifically for exploring Oga Peninsula. Both their cuisine and facilities are truly works of art!

Accommodation with a View of the Wind
This accommodation offers a luxurious experience of nature. While the sea is stunning, what truly captivated me was the wind. From the terrace of the room, I could see trees and flowers swaying in the breeze and birds hovering nearby, allowing me to truly feel the "wind." Such a beautiful environment is rare to find. Above all, I was deeply impressed by the thoughtful hospitality of the staff, including the hostess, and every dish prepared by the chef was heartfelt and delicious. It is truly wonderful to stay at an accommodation that genuinely cares for its guests.

The view from the accommodation is truly unique and stunning. The room, building, and bath are impeccably clean, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The onsen was also excellent. The charm of the Oga Peninsula exceeded expectations, and we would love to visit this accommodation again in different seasons.

It was a luxurious journey.
Thank you for providing us with a peaceful and wonderful journey. We were able to enjoy quiet and relaxing moments together in a private space. The meals were all incredibly delicious, though I regret leaving some food due to my condition. As onsen enthusiasts, we truly appreciated the refreshing experience of the warm bath. Although it was cloudy this time, the sunset we glimpsed from our room was as magnificent as described in your accommodation's theme, "The Great Setting Sun." It was exceptionally beautiful. Perhaps during the green season, we could enjoy a different atmosphere. At the nearby Meka Aquarium, we had an up-close view of polar bears and seals. Their dynamic movements made us feel like children again as we excitedly watched them together. We are deeply grateful for your thoughtful hospitality and attention to detail. It truly made for an unforgettable stay.

Had the best time!
This was my first visit to Akita Prefecture. Although the weather wasn't great, the breathtaking view from the room alone made it worth the trip. On top of that, everything from the staff's hospitality to the meals and facilities was truly top-notch. The meals, in particular, were crafted with such care that I was deeply moved by both their presentation and taste for the first time. The Onsen had a perfect temperature that allowed me to relax and relieve my daily fatigue. Thank you for providing such an amazing experience! I look forward to staying here again!

Overall satisfied (Stayed at the New Building "West Wind")
Although the weather is beyond the accommodation's control, it was a bit disappointing not to see the sunset, which was my main reason for booking, due to cloudy and rainy days earlier in the week. The semi-open-air bath attached to the room is almost like an open-air bath since its large windows can be fully opened. In fact, having a roof makes it convenient even during rain. The onsen water temperature was displayed as around 34°C, but with heating applied, there were no issues. The radium onsen had a golden hue that seemed beneficial for beauty. Unlike many accommodations that charge fees such as "50 minutes for 3,000 yen" for private baths, this place offers four open-air baths available anytime if unoccupied—a major plus point. Moreover, since each room has its own sufficient open-air bath attached, the public bath was practically always private. The meals were excellent in terms of local ingredients used, quality, quantity, and balance. Particularly delightful was the optional snow crab dish offered at about half the price compared to places like Kinosaki Onsen. Interaction with staff occurred mainly during check-in/out and when meals were served in-room; their natural approach to hospitality felt pleasant. However—perhaps due to shift changes—midway through dinner service after 8 PM or so, a more senior staff member took over serving dishes unexpectedly. This turned out to be a positive surprise as I could learn more about culinary highlights and local ingredients from her explanations. If I had to mention downsides: because of in-room dining (especially with crab), lingering food smells remained; having a powerful air purifier would help address this issue. Additionally—as noted in my feedback form—for accommodations priced above 50,000 yen per person per night: amenities by "POLA" and hair dryers by "KOIZUMI" felt somewhat cheapened expectations-wise. Lastly regarding public baths—it would be preferable if towels were provided directly at changing rooms rather than requiring guests bring them from their rooms (even if done for sustainability or cost-saving reasons). For me personally providing such conveniences aligns better with what defines “luxury accommodation.”

A very beautiful Ryokan.
I stayed at this Ryokan during my first trip to Akita. I enjoyed both the private bath in the room and the large public bath, both offering a stunning view of the Sea of Japan, with beautiful scenery visible in the evening. The meals were delicious, featuring easy-to-enjoy dishes like sashimi and meat dishes rather than overly traditional local cuisine. The facility was very clean, and the staff provided exceptionally polite service, making it a wonderful one-night stay. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

The Ultimate Twilight
Staying at an Onsen Ryokan for the first time in my life, I was deeply moved by the magnificence of the private onsen in the room. It was a supreme sanctuary that offered both a private space and an unparalleled sense of openness with nothing obstructing the view. 【Nothing but Serenity】 This is why you can immerse yourself in silence, realizing how much noise filled your everyday life until now. Why not bring along a novel and take some time to unwind at this accommodation? A landscape like a painting. The view of Toga Bay below and the endless Sea of Japan beyond will reveal different expressions depending on the season you visit.
