A spring getaway soothed by a carpet of fresh greenery and warm hospitality

I visited during the third week of April using public transportation. The peach blossoms were just past their peak, but in return the mountains were tinted a fresh pale green with new buds, and I was able to take a walk through breathtaking scenery that felt like a “carpet of fresh greenery.” On the way back from an early-morning visit to Hottarakashi Onsen, the time I spent walking while watching the mountains change moment by moment was an irreplaceably luxurious experience. Throughout my stay, I was continually impressed by the staff’s thoughtful hospitality. From arranging an early-morning taxi to refilling my water bottle at the café and recommending a great fruit shop, everyone responded kindly with a smile in every situation, and I felt at ease from start to finish. Even after checkout, I continued to enjoy myself and am grateful that I could spend such a relaxing time throughout the Hotel. It was a wonderful Accommodation that made me want to return.

    Wonderful view

I went to enjoy the seasonal fruit and had the pudding à la mode—it was absolutely delicious. The view was wonderful, and it was very refreshing.

As expected of Fujiya Hotel quality.

Stayed again following last year’s visit. The service quality was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay. This time we chose a Japanese-style dinner and a Western-style breakfast, and both were delicious. The ingredients were classic, but prepared to Hotel quality and thoroughly enjoyable. Time to make an early Reservation for next year (laughs).

    We had a comfortable stay.

The staff greeted us warmly at check-in with friendly smiles throughout. Both the Western-style dinner and the Japanese-style breakfast were delicious. We also appreciated the coffee service, though it was cold outside, so we think it would have felt even better in a warmer season.

    I felt kindness.

From cherry season through autumn grapes, this Hotel offers a continuous variety of fruit—something women will love. The peach parfait is the most popular! At peak times, the wait can be up to an hour.

Majestic Views of Mount Fuji and Comfortable Service

After my visit in December, I planned to return during the season when the fruit is at its best, but I ended up coming back sooner than expected. Thank you for the wonderful surprise this time. The meals were delicious, and I was truly satisfied with how comfortable the Hotel was—thanks to everyone’s warm smiles and the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji.

    Lovely Hina Dolls

This year again, I came to see the Hina dolls at Fruit Park. It was a slightly early White Day trip, and I requested this Hotel without hesitation. I arrived early and enjoyed the strawberry parfait I’d been looking forward to. The strawberries were juicy and delicious. I also love the white-bread sandwiches, so I ended up having one too. After that, I enjoyed the Onsen and a coin-operated massage chair, relaxing at an easy pace. I usually choose Western-style meals, but on the first night I had Japanese cuisine for dinner. Everything was delicious. I also love the hoto set meal for lunch, so I knew it would be good—but it was truly excellent. For breakfast, I had my usual favorite: the cheese omelet breakfast. Even though I’ve had it many times, it’s always genuinely delicious. With fruit and herbal tea as well, I was able to relax completely. Thank you very much.

The best of both a Resort Hotel and an Onsen Ryokan.

The Accommodation is located within Yamanashi Prefecture’s Fuefukigawa Fruit Park. Drawn by its elegant, Provence-inspired architecture in the style of southern France, we stayed here as a family for the first time. For families with children, it’s a great advantage to let the kids play to their heart’s content in the park before checking in. In addition to having all the essentials you’d expect from a Resort Hotel, it has been selected as one of Japan’s “New Three Great Night Views,” and the view from the guest rooms can only be described as spectacular. You can enjoy a truly luxurious time overlooking Fruit Park, the Kofu Basin, and Mt. Fuji. Dining offers a choice of Western or Japanese cuisine; this time we chose Western. The food was extremely delicious and the service from the staff was excellent, earning high praise from our whole family. The on-site Onsen is an alkaline simple hot spring that leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth. We stayed on a Friday, but it wasn’t crowded and we were able to relax and fully enjoy our time. If I had to mention one drawback, the free in-room Wi-Fi signal is somewhat weak, so those planning a workcation may want to bring their own Wi-Fi router. Next time, I’d like to stay again and try the Japanese meal option.

It was a standard, calm Hotel that felt worth the cost. However, I would have been happier if the dinner had been a bit more thoughtfully prepared.

A serene stay that reflects the sincerity of traditional Japanese accommodation.

The moment I entered the room, I was amazed by the stunning view. From check-in to sunset, you can enjoy a luxurious time admiring the Kofu Basin and Mount Fuji. After playing to our hearts' content at the Fruit Park with my child, we relaxed together in the Onsen at the large public bath before heading straight to dinner. Dinner featured Japanese cuisine, and a kids' plate was also prepared, which was a big hit with my child. The whole family felt satisfied both in heart and stomach. At night, my child quickly fell asleep from exhaustion after all the fun, allowing my spouse and me to take turns enjoying a relaxing soak in the Onsen before going to bed earlier than usual. The next morning, we woke up early for an enjoyable walk. This accommodation does not emphasize an extraordinary experience but instead offers comfort as an extension of daily life with subtle yet high-quality hospitality that left a positive impression. There were many families with children staying here as well, and the staff's attentiveness was exceptional. Unlike overly theatrical luxury accommodations that have become more common recently, this place exudes sincerity and reliability as a Japanese accommodation—a space where families can relax without any pressure.

    I had a relaxing time.

The view was excellent, and although my stomach wasn't feeling well, the portions were adjusted for me. The food was delicious, and I was able to enjoy it, so I am very satisfied. The bath was also very pleasant to use. I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

    Merry Christmas!

Stayed on Christmas Day The fruit tree I saw on Instagram The handmade wreath in the room It was so cute, I wanted it! The adorable Santa Claus by the chimney Had a berry parfait before dinner Every dish at the Christmas dinner was so delicious, I ate too much! Relaxed in the Onsen and enjoyed a peaceful time. The night view was truly stunning. The next morning, it was sunny, and Mount Fuji showed its beautiful face. The open-air bath with a view of Mount Fuji in the morning is absolutely amazing. Even though I ate so much yesterday, I woke up hungry this morning. I've stayed here many times, but I'm absolutely in love with their breakfast: Cheese omelet, pumpkin soup, salad with carrot dressing, freshly baked bread, and herbal tea—perfect! Next time, I'd love to come back for their strawberry parfait!

Relax and rejuvenate both your mind and body for complete satisfaction.

Recommended by word of mouth, I decided to visit on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Since there were no restaurants nearby and I wanted to enjoy the Hotel's delicious cuisine, choosing a meal-inclusive plan was the perfect decision. The food was comparable to that of luxury hotels in Tokyo. Thank you for the sparkling wine for our toast. The seasonal parfait at the café was also delightful. The Onsen public bath in the Hotel featured ReFa showers and hair dryers, with well-stocked amenities that made my stay very comfortable. Blessed with good weather, even though it was December, enjoying morning coffee at the outdoor lounge while admiring views including Mt. Fuji made me forget about the cold. The air was so clear that taking deep breaths felt refreshing—I truly felt glad I came. The wine available in-room through card access at the lounge was all excellent; I wished to purchase some but unfortunately couldn’t find them in the shop. However, all items available at their carefully curated shop were high-quality and satisfying purchases. Of course, the hospitality of Hotel staff was outstanding as well, allowing me to relax and unwind comfortably throughout my stay. Although we didn’t explore nearby attractions this time, staying at this Hotel alone provided more than enough enjoyment. Even my discerning friend who accompanied me agreed—we definitely want to come back again!

    As mentioned in the ...

As mentioned in the reviews, the staff's hospitality was wonderful. Since it was the off-season and a weekday, it was not crowded, allowing for a relaxing stay. The bath had a ReFa hair dryer, which is common nowadays, but I was thrilled to see a ReFa showerhead for the first time. The night view from the room was also spectacular. Although the building is old, it is well-cleaned and the rooms have been renovated beautifully. I didn’t use the bathroom in my room as I went to enjoy the onsen instead; however, since the bathroom, toilet, and sink are combined into one space, I would have preferred if at least the toilet were separate. In the morning on the terrace while watching sunrise, they provided free warm coffee and hot lemon drinks along with lap blankets to keep us warm from the cold. Thank you very much!

"Enjoy Wine and Onsen" Stay for Complete Satisfaction

We visited for a one-night trip with two friends under the theme of "enjoying wine and Onsen." The Hotel, resembling a castle on top of a mountain, offers stunning panoramic views from the Room. Due to rain on our arrival day, we were greeted by a sea of clouds the next morning, combined with Mount Fuji in the distance—it was like a painting. While some parts of the Facility felt dated, everything was clean and very comfortable. As heavy rain caused us to adjust our plans and arrive early, we enjoyed a Ladies' Lunch Set at the Japanese restaurant for lunch. The presentation was beautiful, and it tasted amazing—a delightful meal indeed. For dinner at the main restaurant, we had a small-portion course menu that was just right for us in terms of quantity. Paired with wine selections, we thoroughly enjoyed every bite until the end. The quality of food truly lived up to expectations from Fujiya Hotel. Additionally, using IKYU's special wine card to enjoy wines in the lobby added an extra touch of fun. The Onsen water was soft and soothing; we bathed multiple times during our stay. The amenities provided were also high-quality. The next day began with enjoying more sea clouds before strolling through an autumn-colored fruit park to fully embrace fall's beauty. Thanks to this experience, it turned out to be such an amazing trip! Thank you so much! This is definitely a Hotel we'd love to visit again!

    The morning view was magnificent.

Fujiya Hotel is conveniently located near my home, and I have visited Miyanoshita and Yumoto before, but this was my first stay at the Fruit Park accommodation. The views of Mt. Fuji throughout the day—morning, noon, and evening—were breathtaking, and the morning sea of clouds along with the controlled burning scenery felt like a postcard-worthy experience. It was unfortunate that it wasn’t fruit-picking season; however, I look forward to visiting again if given the chance.

    Husband's Birthday Trip

I was extremely satisfied. The most commendable aspect was the hospitality of the staff. My spouse and I travel across the whole country, and recently, we have often encountered diverse staff providing somewhat impersonal service influenced by cultural differences, which has been a bit disappointing at times. However, at this Hotel, professional staff provided warm smiles and thoughtful service in every area. It was neither mechanical nor overly formal but just the right level of hospitality. The meals were delicious, and every corner of the facility was clean, making for a very pleasant stay. I would love to visit again!

Stay for Three Generations of Family

We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room for the first time as a three-generation family. The room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views from the large windows (on the second day, we were lucky to see Mt. Fuji!). The onsen was average, and while the view wasn’t particularly special, the lukewarm temperature made it very relaxing to soak in for a long time. It also left our skin feeling smooth. One suggestion we have is to provide larger lockers with locks in the changing area that can fit clothes as well, instead of just small lockers for valuables, considering today’s circumstances with various guests coming and going. The restaurant served a French course meal which was delicious! The waiter who attended us during both dinner and breakfast provided five-star service!! He was incredibly kind and offered exceptional hospitality—we are truly grateful. Having such staff members is fortunate for both the hotel and its guests. My elderly mother also loved this accommodation and expressed her desire to visit again. We will definitely return! Thank you very much!

Family-Friendly Hotel I Always Wanted to Visit

I had been waiting for the right opportunity since staying with a child as one adult can be expensive, but I finally managed to stay this time, even though only large Rooms were available. The nearby park and convenient lunch options allowed us to enjoy extended playtime. We could borrow equipment like frisbees and badminton sets for free to play in the Hotel garden. The kids had a great time, but I wish we had been informed about this at check-in as we found out by chance. Each floor's elevator hall had a picture book corner where children could borrow books to read in the Room, which was wonderful. The public bath included a lukewarm bath that was perfect for children to relax in. Additionally, only the women’s bath featured ReFa showerheads and hairdryers (also available in Rooms). Having towels provided at the bath area was very convenient. While yukatas were available for children, it would be nice if there were separate-style options since it’s a Hotel where walking around in yukatas isn’t allowed anyway. The meals were delicious overall; however, my child’s dinner mainly consisted of hamburger steak dishes—perhaps more variety or homemade items would encourage them to finish their meal without leftovers? The sparkling wine and juice offered as Diamond Member benefits were delightful! We enjoyed beautiful views from our Room including nightscapes and sunrise scenery. In the morning, once the sun rose, sunlight filled our Room so much that it became warm even with the air conditioning off. Morning coffee and lemonade added an extra touch of enjoyment during our stay. Although it wasn’t peak summer or winter season—so no summer fruit parfaits or lobby fireplace—we still had a relaxing experience overall!

    Quiet Accommodation

It was a quiet accommodation where I could relax, but it did not live up to the high reviews. The view of Mt. Fuji from the room was beautiful. However, it was disappointing that there were only yukatas available and no samue or pajamas among the amenities. Perhaps because the room was small, the TV was as tiny as those in a business hotel. If traveling by train, Yamanashi City Station is quite deserted with no shops around, so it would have been nice if the hotel's souvenir shop had more variety.

    Second Stay

I have visited every year to enjoy the seasonal parfaits, and this time I was looking forward to staying here again since my last visit in spring. The atmosphere and the clientele here are excellent (perhaps by chance), allowing for a quiet stay. The meals were equally enjoyable, making this one of my favorite accommodations. I plan to continue visiting while considering the timing of each season. Although there is a bit of distance from the elevator to the room, and it would be nice if access from both sides were possible, I believe this arrangement contributes to providing a quiet space, which I truly appreciated and found satisfying.

    It was a great retreat.

Stayed at the accommodation for the first time in about 20 years. The weather was great, and we had a clear view of Mt. Fuji. The meals we were looking forward to were very delicious, and it completely refreshed us from daily fatigue. Books were available in the elevator hall, which could be freely read in the room—a delightful service for book lovers. Both the front desk and restaurant staff provided excellent and pleasant service.

I had a relaxing and enjoyable time.

Recently, perhaps due to my age, I found the meal portions at accommodations too large to finish. However, this time both breakfast and dinner were served in appropriate portions with excellent seasoning, making them very enjoyable. The room was upgraded to a luxurious one, allowing me to spend a graceful time. The location was also fantastic, making it a hotel I would love to visit again.

Traveling with My Mother in a Wheelchair

I traveled with my 92-year-old mother who uses a wheelchair. The Hotel was fully accessible, and we had no issues moving around with the wheelchair. The meals were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious; my mother almost finished everything, which surprised me! The Room was spacious, equipped with plenty of outlets, and designed for user convenience. The staff provided excellent service, making our stay very pleasant. We also enjoyed the stunning view of Mount Fuji and spent relaxing moments on the terrace. I would love to visit again!

The taste of the dishes is...

We stayed here to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The positive aspects were that there were few foreign guests, making the atmosphere less tiring, and we deeply appreciated the extra service of warming baby food for our child during meals, which is usually not offered. However, on the downside, we had two meals (dinner and breakfast), but unfortunately, the food was not delicious. Specifically, the dinner dish "Fuji Trout Salmon Confit with Rillette Curry Flavor and Baby Caviar Scented with Sherry" had an overpowering fishy smell; my wife felt unwell after eating it. Similarly, a breakfast dish of tuna topped with grated yam was also difficult to eat—I couldn’t finish it myself. During dinner service, many dishes were brought on a wagon near the entrance and left there until served at room temperature; this might have contributed to their poor quality. Considering the high accommodation cost, this trip was disappointing overall. However, some items like the fruit parfait were delicious—so I might consider using hotel facilities again in the future if given another opportunity.

    It was very comfortable.

We stayed the night before an early morning golf game as a couple. Although we didn’t have time to enjoy breakfast this time, the room was spacious and comfortable. The beautiful night view from the window was a delightful surprise. The onsen was clean and allowed us to relax at ease. Since there aren’t many accommodations in Yamanashi that stand out, we made a reservation at Fujiya Hotel, trusting it would be a great choice—and it truly was. We’d love to stay here again when we go golfing next time.
