Stayed overnight after skiing at Shiga KogenAfter check-in, straight to the open-air bath!Then draft beer at the all-you-can-drink corner.There were snacks too—the mixed nuts were delicious.Dinner buffet featured teppanyaki beef,with red wine,and plenty of other options.Breakfast was tasty as well.If I didn’t have to drive, I’d have enjoyed the all-you-can-drink from the morning too (lol).The building is old, but they’ve clearly worked hard on renovations.The woman at reception also made a great impression.It’s a shame that the dead grass seen from the road makes it look a bit like an abandoned place.I’ll be back.

The lounge offered free drinks and nuts for an extended period, and we could even take them back to the Room, allowing us to relax. The bath was also enjoyable, and the buffet dishes were delicious. While the sink and bathroom showed some age, there was a handwritten message left in the Room, which was clean and spacious. We could choose between a yukata or samue, and the samue was very comfortable (though it was a bit disappointing that the padded jacket seemed to be from a previous Hotel). It would have been nice to have a small light in the Room at night for sleeping.We enjoyed our quiet stay; however, we noticed there were few guests around and couldn't help but worry about how things are going business-wise. It's such a great Hotel—perhaps more promotion could help make it livelier!
