Hidden Hot Spring Inn Takimien

My mother, who has stayed at many Accommodations over the years, gave this one her first-ever “perfect 100.” From the front desk to the dining staff and housekeeping, every member of the team embodies genuine hospitality and a sincere desire to delight guests. We stayed in Room 308 with an open-air bath; it was spacious, and there was a separate shower room. When I mentioned at check-in that we had heavy luggage, the front desk staff kindly carried it to our Room. I also told them I needed to go back to the car for something I’d forgotten, and they thoughtfully escorted my elderly relative with mobility issues back to the Room at their pace.・Thoughtful hospitality that truly stands out At the dining area, they immediately brought an extra chair for our bags when they saw we had a lot of belongings. Most impressive of all: after I left some sake unfinished at dinner, they brought it to me at breakfast the next morning with a simple “Please enjoy.” It was hospitality beyond any manual—genuinely attentive and heartfelt.・Proactive care and sincere service The floor chair and care chair we requested in advance for my relative were perfectly set up. The amenities were also excellent—an up-to-date air purifier, a coffee drip machine, and more. When I mentioned there was no wash basin, they went out of their way to deliver one directly to the bathroom while laying out the futons. Every interaction came with warmth and a smile.・Cuisine that showcases local bounty Spiny lobster; seasonal bamboo shoot sashimi; tender local chicken; and rice from Chiba—everything was outstanding. We also ordered steamed abalone separately; it was so tender that even my aunt—who usually doesn’t like raw fish—was delighted. The selection of local sake was extensive as well, letting us fully enjoy Boso’s seafood and mountain produce. The dessert plate we ordered separately was superb too—even every piece of fruit was wonderfully sweet.・Exceptional value for money Impeccable cleanliness, free-flowing natural hot-spring water in an open-air bath, and truly top-tier hospitality—at JPY 23,230 per person (even with an early-booking discount), it honestly felt far too inexpensive for what we received.Having experienced many long-established and high-end places in Yokohama, this is an Accommodation I would confidently rate “over 100 stars.” I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking authentic hospitality.Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. I visited for a change of pace, as it’s relatively close—about 130 km from home. On the way, I ran into heavy traffic, and even after crossing the Aqua-Line I had to drive through mountains for what felt like forever, which was tougher than expected. Still, despite being deep in the mountains, the Accommodation was an impressive Onsen Ryokan with 33 rooms. The guest Room was spacious and had a sunken kotatsu table, so I could relax comfortably. The bath was at a perfect temperature, and my skin felt smooth afterward—very pleasant. It was a shame that one of the open-air baths was under maintenance, though. The meals featured plenty of seasonal local specialties unique to Yoro Onsen, and everything was delicious. I also got the impression that all staff were well trained—an important point. This is a traditional Ryokan that makes you want to return if you get the chance again.
