Mineyama Kogen Hotel Relaxia

It was a peaceful stay in the highlands, which had calmed down completely after the bustling summer. The Hotel was quiet during weekdays, with mostly adult guests. I found it more relaxing than I expected. The staff, many of whom were from overseas except at reception, provided dedicated service and made the experience pleasant. Meals were served freshly cooked in order, allowing us to enjoy hot dishes while they were still warm, which was delightful. The portions were satisfying as well. The free drink selection offered a variety of options to enjoy. For sake lovers like me, it would have been better if all bottles were chilled; only one out of several types was served cold. Since it was autumn and sunset came early, by dinner time (6 PM), it was already pitch dark outside. The glass windows reflected only the interior view instead of showcasing the beautiful outdoors. A ginkgo tree in the garden had turned a stunning color for autumn—if just that area had been lit up during dinner hours, it would have enhanced our dining experience significantly. This lack of lighting felt like a missed opportunity and might be one key improvement for this Hotel.The bath area wasn’t crowded either, allowing for a leisurely soak to unwind fully. While there is an open-air bath available too, due to low outdoor temperatures during this season, I felt that its water temperature could be raised slightly higher—perhaps by one or two degrees—as lukewarm water isn’t ideal when it's cold outside.Regarding room arrangements: some adjustments are needed for window-side seating placement indoors because in my Room's default setup—the balcony’s air conditioning unit obstructed what could have been an enjoyable view outside! Additionally—the wide handrails on balconies also blocked part-of-the scenery unnecessarily—and these units even disrupted views from within-the-garden itself! Considering how beautifully surrounded-by-nature this building is—it’s unfortunate that mechanical elements detract-from its design harmony.I look forward-to visiting again next summer!

One night stay with two meals for 28,500 yen for my wife and me. The taste and volume of the dinner were satisfying, and there was an all-you-can-drink alcohol option. Coffee and tea were also available for free, and the large public bath had an open-air bath. Overall, it was a hotel with great cost performance.
