Due to snowy weather, we decided to take the train instead of driving and changed our Hotel at the last minute. Although it was a design Hotel and we didn’t have high expectations, the room was very spacious and clean. The Hotel staff were extremely kind, offering free taxi arrangements and diapers for our dog. Even after check-out, they made coffee for us while waiting for the taxi to arrive—such outstanding hospitality! The location is also very convenient, just a short walk from the Old Karuizawa shopping street. We would love to stay here again.

My favorite Hotel after three years. Once again, everything was fun, comfortable, and absolutely wonderful. To all the staff... As always, you were kind and pleasant, and your thoughtful attention was truly outstanding. The entire Hotel was clean and beautiful everywhere, with a spacious, relaxing design... The tasteful use of wood was really nice. The Room was also large, spotless, and very comfortable. I enjoyed a relaxing coffee on the terrace, and had an amazing time. The Onsen was clean and lovely—absolutely the best. We had breakfast at Karamatsu. It felt more like a kaiseki-style meal than last time. The rice cooked in a traditional kamado stove was exquisite. The handmade tofu was also amazing. Everything was truly delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Thank you as well for accommodating my requests again this time. Thanks to you, it became a fun, relaxing, wonderful, and perfect trip—I’m full of gratitude. Thank you very much. This is truly a Hotel I love—beautiful and exceptional in every way. I will definitely come again.

We stayed at Karuizawa Prince Hotel East, where we used to come skiing when our children were little, to also celebrate our daughter’s acceptance into university. The atmosphere was unchanged and full of nostalgia. The staff’s service, the Onsen, and the meals—everything was very satisfying. We made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

I stayed for one night with a friend and was upgraded from a standard Room to a better one. The floor heating made the Room so warm and cozy! The staff were polite, the Room was clean, and we had a very relaxing time. We borrowed UNO and playing cards for fun, enjoyed drinks from the bar in our Room, and had an overall fulfilling stay! However, there were few streetlights near the Hotel, which felt a bit scary at night. We also had breakfast, but it was generally lightly seasoned, and only the soup and rice were warm. In hindsight, having breakfast at nearby restaurants might have been a better option.

The location was convenient and I had a great time. It was reasonably priced and I would like to use it again. Thank you very much.

If you have business in Karuizawa but wish to avoid staying there, this accommodation served the purpose perfectly. Great hot water, beautiful scenery, and friendly people—thank you for your hospitality.

This is my second stay. The hotel is not accessible from Karuizawa Station without a car, so it’s inconvenient to rely on taxis each time. However, the rates are reasonable, and the accommodation provides all the essential services needed, so I am satisfied. I will stay here again when I visit Karuizawa.

We stayed for one night with three dogs to celebrate the New Year, and it turned out to be a highly satisfying experience. Considering the year-end traffic and the cold weather in Karuizawa, we opted for the bullet train this time. After exploring the outlet mall directly connected to the station, we took a taxi for about 11 minutes at a cost of approximately 3,500 yen. Later, we found out that Shuttle Service was available, so checking in advance would make things smoother. The property is very spacious—about half the size of Tokyo Dome by feel—and fully enclosed. It felt like an entire dog park, providing great peace of mind when traveling with pets. Although limited to one group per day, there are three tents available. For two people it feels luxurious; six people might strike a better balance. The dogs were relaxed throughout our stay and enjoyed their freedom without concern for others—a major highlight. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with drinks and used the sauna before dinner. The sauna allowed "löyly" (steam infusion) with around nine types of aroma oils provided. At about 90°C (194°F), it was perfect for working up a good sweat. While there wasn’t a cold plunge pool available, winter’s chilly outdoor air sufficed without inconvenience. The distance from the sauna to showers could be improved slightly; however, having a bonfire area right outside made outdoor relaxation part of its charm—I wish we'd checked in earlier! Dinner was BBQ-style featuring high-quality meats and vegetables along with delicious fish appetizers and soup as starters. A selection of wines including red wine starting at 5,500 yen as well as white wine and champagne were also offered. The BBQ venue had enclosures and heaters ensuring comfort even during colder seasons. The Room felt chilly due to exposure from outside air but came equipped with electric blankets plus heaters making sleeping conditions manageable overall—though stronger or additional heating units would enhance comfort further especially if you're sensitive towards cold temperatures; bringing extra warm clothing is recommended! Morning began again inside saunas followed by breakfast consisting thoughtfully prepared soup alongside Akagi beef shigureni bento boxes which delivered both satisfying portions & flavors alike! Throughout every interaction staff maintained pleasant professionalism striking ideal balance between attentiveness yet respecting privacy leaving lasting positive impressions behind too! Finally returning back via Shuttle Service ensured seamless end-to-end convenience concluding memorable stay altogether! Looking forward revisiting during spring/autumn seasons next time experiencing different scenery/atmosphere altogether anew!

Thank you for the wonderful and happy time. We recently stayed here for a family trip. As it has become rare for us to gather as a family since everyone is now working, this trip was very special. Thanks to the attentive service, well-equipped facilities, and the cozy, home-like atmosphere, we were able to spend a truly happy time together. For meals, we arranged both BBQ and a private chef service, and both exceeded our expectations with their excellent service and delicious food. The location is also great, within walking distance to the center of Old Karuizawa, allowing us to enjoy morning and evening strolls. We would love to stay here again someday.

The only downside was that I had difficulty contacting the management during my stay. Other than that, the location was convenient, the Facility was clean and well-maintained, and overall it was excellent. I would love to stay again.

I was able to stay at a very reasonable price. Despite being affordable, the room was very spacious and equipped with a microwave, refrigerator-freezer, mini kitchen (no stove), dishes, cutlery, and plastic wrap, making it perfect for families. The bath and toilet were separate, and the bathtub was large enough to stretch your legs. There were also two large TVs in the bedroom and living room, allowing us to enjoy our stay comfortably as if we were at home. The staff were very cheerful and pleasant. There was also Mikado Coffee service available in the lobby. I was very lucky to find an available slot this time and complete the reservation. I would definitely like to stay again.

Whenever I visit Gunma, I always stay here. The kamameshi for dinner is delicious and comes with just the right amount of side dishes, and you can also enjoy a unique Onsen unlike any other. Why not give it a try at least once? It’s a great Onsen Accommodation.

The air conditioning can make the room very dry. A humidifier is essential during winter, but it is available for rent at an additional cost. Please pick it up at the front desk. We believe this should be a vacation experience where such amenities are provided in-room free of charge for added comfort. We hope you have a pleasant and comfortable bedroom experience.

I often travel and stay at many Hotels, but this Hotel was the best I have ever experienced. First, I arrived by taxi, and a bell staff member noticed me right away and smoothly guided me, saying, “Let me take your luggage. May I have the name on your Reservation?” Both the front desk and bell staff provided very courteous guidance around the Facility and to my Room, so I was able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience. I heard that every Room has a balcony, and being able to view Mt. Asama anytime from sunrise to sunset was a truly luxurious experience. The dining area for breakfast had floor-to-ceiling glass windows and felt very open. Of course, the food was also excellent. The Onsen is only a short distance away, but you can get there by monorail, which meant I didn’t have to feel cold even in winter—something I really appreciated. I was impressed in every way. I would love to visit again.

Stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my mother's birthday. The first day was wrapped in mist, creating a magical atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, it was very relaxing, and waking up in the morning felt blissful. My whole family was delighted, so we would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

My sister and her husband from the U.S. visited Japan, and we used this accommodation for a one-night trip with our parents. The maisonette had 3 rooms with baths, each spacious, and the first floor featured a kitchen-equipped dining area and a living room with a fireplace, providing ample space even for 7 people. The center lounge offered alcohol-free drinks from morning to evening, which was perfect for those who enjoy non-alcoholic beverages (laughs). The young staff provided excellent service, while the experienced staff offered solid support when needed. We booked quite early at a very reasonable price; although there was an additional fee for early check-in, we opted for it. Please note that lounge access is available only after check-in. One night felt too short—I’d love to stay 2 or 3 nights next time!

I usually stay at standardized and impersonal business hotels, but this time, staying at this hotel allowed me to experience the charm of old Karuizawa. The location is a bit far from the station, but still within walking distance. Since the surrounding area is a villa district, it’s quiet at night. The room has a nostalgic design with character and was kept very clean. The atmosphere resembles that of a countryside B&B in England, and the breakfast was delicious. However, there is no elevator, so carrying heavy luggage might be inconvenient. Additionally, you need to change from shoes to slippers when going up the stairs from the first floor to your room (which I personally find more hygienic than wearing shoes indoors). If these points are not an issue for you, it’s a great accommodation option. I would love to stay here again!

This was my second stay, and the Hotel was clean, the staff service was excellent, it was conveniently located, and the rates were reasonable. I would like to stay here again.

The staff welcomed us with bright and wonderful smiles, and everyone was very pleasant. We had planned to walk to the restaurant for dinner, but since it was raining, we were grateful for the shuttle service. Although the building feels a bit old, it was thoroughly cleaned, allowing us to relax comfortably.

I stayed for one night starting September 28. Since the accommodation offered rental bicycles, I walked from Karuizawa Station to the accommodation (about 10 minutes), left my luggage at the front desk, and rented a bicycle to go out. (The cost was 1,650 yen per day or 2,450 yen for an electric bike as I recall.) Renting a bicycle directly from the hotel made it very convenient as I didn’t have to walk back after returning it. Although the building felt a bit old, the room seemed renovated with new tatami mats and comfortable beds. It was refreshing to see beds placed on tatami mats, allowing me to relax both on the bed and on the tatami floor. I also felt secure placing my luggage directly on the tatami mats. Complimentary bottled water (one per person) and apple snacks were provided in the room. At reception, items like stick coffee packets, facial cleansers, and lotions were available for individual pickup. As there was no private bath in my room, I used the public bathhouse instead. The bathhouse was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body soap—offered in about three varieties—which were quite sufficient. However, having makeup remover would have been even better. There were only two hair dryers available in total; they lacked power so drying long hair might take some time. A water dispenser was also provided near the bath area which allowed me to rehydrate after bathing—a nice touch. Breakfast included medicinal porridge dishes along with pork miso soup (tonjiru), grilled salmon, and various side dishes—all of which were satisfying! For those who don’t prefer porridge though white rice substitutions are possible upon request; coffee too could be self-served freely during breakfast hours! Overall experience staying here proved pleasant & enjoyable enough that I'd certainly consider returning again someday!
