Every dish in the meal was outstanding—the best of any Ryokan I have stayed at. I was also surprised at how delicious the seasoning was even on the fried item we were given to take home, made from the remaining fish. The Room was clean and well kept. The staff’s service was just right, and it felt very comfortable.

The open-air bath and the large public bath were in separate locations, so it felt like we were doing a bath tour. The Onsen water was soft and very pleasant. We stayed in a Room with a private open-air bath, and being told to adjust the temperature by keeping the water continuously flowing made it feel truly luxurious. The meals were also outstanding—everything was delicious, with carefully prepared fish—and we were completely satisfied. It was a two-story detached Room, very clean, spacious, and relaxing. However, there was no toilet on the second floor, so going downstairs at night to use the bathroom was difficult (I need to go often and also have bad knees). Still, it was a wonderful Accommodation that will stay in our memories. Thank you very much.

The exterior of the Hotel has a historical charm, but the interior of the Room has been renovated and feels very clean. What impressed me most upon entering the Room was the view from the window! The sunset and horizon were incredibly soothing. Next, the food. The sashimi platter with abalone was impressive, and everything including the meat was absolutely delicious and satisfying. Breakfast was also plentiful with great volume and taste. The Onsen had a few small insects, but being surrounded by nature made it feel charming. The slightly viscous water felt wonderful to bathe in. All of the staff were polite and kind, making our stay very comfortable. I would love to visit Amakusa again! Thank you so much!
