Hotel Green Plaza Shodoshima

From the moment you step into the Hotel, it has a calming atmosphere, and you can enjoy complimentary drinks and coffee in the lobby lounge or on the terrace with stunning views. The entire property and the guest room were very clean, and the bed was so comfortable that I slept soundly until morning. Both dinner and breakfast were generous bento meals with sashimi and a hot pot, plus five kinds of Shodoshima’s famous tsukudani—everything was delicious. The sunset was incredibly beautiful and soothing. Thank you very much. I will definitely visit again.

[Guest Rooms] The Room is set up for a very comfortable stay, with plenty of space to relax. If the weather is good, you can also enjoy beautiful views. Everything you need is provided, and the loungewear is pajamas and fleece rather than a yukata, so you can unwind as if you were at home.[Service] There was no local bus at my pre-arranged check-in time, so I let them know I would be late while waiting for the next bus. They kindly came to pick me up by car at the port. At check-out, they also offered me a ride since there was room for one more passenger.[Onsen] There is an open-air bath as well, where you can soak while taking in the beautiful Seto Inland Sea scenery. It’s enjoyable both at night and in the morning.[Facility] The washer and dryer are free to use, which is very helpful on a long trip. However, they are often in high demand, so depending on timing you may have to wait quite a while.[Meals] Both dinner and breakfast are bento-style meals, but they are high-end bento boxes that feel very satisfying. There’s also a tsukudani buffet that makes it easy to end up eating lots of rice. In addition, the lobby offers all-you-can-eat bread and drinks, so you’ll never go hungry.[Overall Satisfaction] Service, views, Room quality, bed comfort, baths/Onsen , loungewear, meals, and laundry—everything was excellent. I had a wonderful time. This stay was only one night, but I wished I could have stayed longer. The only drawback was that the water from the Room sink had an iron-like smell; even if used only for rinsing your mouth it was unpleasant. Three complimentary bottles of mineral water are provided so drinking water isn’t an issue, but it may be a downside for those who wash their hands and rinse frequently. That said, everything else was so outstanding that this minor issue didn’t bother me much overall.
