Nol Hakone Myojindai

To celebrate my retirement after many years of work, I stayed at this Hotel that I had been interested in for some time. The hospitality of all the staff was excellent, and we also loved the nearby vegetable-focused dinner and breakfast, the complimentary drinks, and the open, airy feel of the lobby. My wife was very satisfied as well. We would definitely like to stay again.

A Hotel nestled in the quiet forests of Hakone. I stayed here with my dogs. This is a small, hideaway-like Hotel where you can step away from the crowds and take time to reset as an adult. A gentle stillness filled the property, and I truly enjoyed a calm, relaxing stay.Every staff member we met was friendly yet professional, and we felt comfortable throughout our visit. When I requested a change of loungewear, the manager personally came to apologize the next morning, which showed that even small matters are properly shared with senior staff. Their sincerity made me feel this Hotel will continue to grow into something even better.The Italian dinner far exceeded my expectations. The quality rivaled restaurants around Roppongi and Azabu, and it felt fully comparable to top-tier restaurants and luxury Hotels in Tokyo or Osaka. The vegetables from their own garden were especially memorable—fresh and vibrant, with each ingredient’s flavor coming through clearly. The 24-hour drink bar (including tea), available via dedicated bottles provided in the guest room, was also high quality and further enhanced our stay.The building is a renovated former Tokyu Harvest Club Hakone Myojindai property, so not everything is brand-new; however, the bold design blends beautifully with retro touches preserved throughout. Unlike many uniform newly built Hotels these days, it was a space that felt naturally soothing. The cleanliness was impeccable in every corner of the property, which also left a strong impression of their genuine commitment.I was also surprised by how considerate the other guests were. There were many international visitors who seemed experienced travelers with a polished demeanor, and Japanese guests were exceptionally well-mannered as well—leaving the Onsen washing area and powder room neatly arranged when they left was particularly impressive. I have stayed at many nearby Onsen Accommodations over the years, but this is the first time I’ve encountered a Hotel with such consistently good guest etiquette.In addition to the Onsen baths, even the pool is an Onsen pool—perfect for unwinding at your own pace. It may be livelier during school holiday periods for children; if possible, visiting on weekdays in the off-season will let you experience this Accommodation’s quiet charm more deeply.The dog-friendly room was very clean and well maintained; however, it is somewhat compact, so a bit more space would make it even more comfortable. Also, having an open-air bath in the room would make it even more appealing. I’ll be back again in autumn!
