    It simply feels great.

    We stayed as a couple with two children from Osaka (ages 5 and 3). Thank you for a wonderful trip. The pool is connected to the Onsen, which made getting around with small children really easy. The buffet seems popular, but all of the Japanese restaurants were also excellent and well worth visiting. The staff were consistently kind and attentive—this was the best part of all. We had a great spring adventure with our children. Highly recommended for a Shirahama trip.

    A Hotel That Exceeds Expectations

    The Reviews were very positive, so I made a Reservation with dinner and breakfast for one night! Hotel check-in was in person, and the staff were warm and welcoming. They also upgraded us to a spacious corner Room, so we had a very comfortable stay. Buffets are often hit-or-miss, but at this Hotel the dinner buffet was excellent, with freshly fried tempura and nigiri sushi. The breakfast buffet may be the best I’ve had at any Hotel—I ate way too much. I’d love to come again.

    It was very good.

    This is my third stay. The Facility, Onsen, staff service, and room cleanliness were all excellent, and I was very satisfied. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were great—especially the beef and tempura at dinner, which were truly delicious. This is a highly recommended Hotel. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay again and will gladly recommend it to friends.

    This is a very good Hotel.

    This is a Hotel I really love, and I keep coming back. Recently, I stayed with my first grandchild. They were very kind to our baby, and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The staff were also wonderful. We will visit again in summer.

    We were very satisfied with the views from the Onsen and the Room!

    We stayed here for my husband’s medical recuperation and rehabilitation. We arrived at Shirahama Station from Shin-Osaka on the JR Limited Express Kuroshio, and since we had plenty of time, we didn’t use the Hotel shuttle bus. Instead, we stopped by Toretore Market on a local bus to look for souvenirs before heading to the Hotel. After checking in, we went straight to the Onsen downstairs (the Hotel is on a hill). We soaked in the open-air bath with a depth of 120 cm and relaxed from our journey while enjoying the magnificent ocean view. We had dinner early at 17:30. It was a Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet, but we would have been even more satisfied if there had been a wider selection of fruit and more variety overall.

    This was my first stay, and I was fully satisfied with the Facility, meals, and price. If I had to mention any issues, it would be that the room key is not a card type and there is no sheltered area at the open-air bath for rainy weather.

    This was our fifth stay at Koganoi, and it was wonderful. The Room was clean, spacious, and had a great view, and the food was also very delicious. The Onsen, illuminations, and staff were all excellent. We will stay again.

    I keep coming back again and again.

    Great value for money on weekdays. I’ve stayed here many times. The illuminations on the Hotel grounds are lovely, and the illuminated Hotel across the water is especially romantic. I sometimes stay over there too, but I can’t resist the great value at Shirahama Koganoi Resort & Spa, so I end up staying here more often. The pool also adds to the resort vibe. I’ll definitely be back.

    This was my first time dining at “Kashima.” I had always assumed Koganoi only offered a buffet, but it was wonderful to relax and enjoy Japanese cuisine. Since it was a weekday, there were few guests, so we could dine at a leisurely pace. My wife also said she’d like to choose Japanese cuisine again next time. Breakfast, however, was the usual buffet. The Room was upgraded for us, so we slept well, and there were times when we had the Onsen almost to ourselves and could truly unwind. The water level in the indoor bath of the Onsen seemed low—perhaps because there were fewer guests? It wasn’t inconvenient, but it felt about 10 cm shallower than usual.

    The open-air bath was great, and I loved that you can stand in it.

    I had planned to stay in Shirahama the next day, and since I was making the trip anyway, I looked for a Hotel for the night before and made a Reservation because it was very reasonably priced. Lately I’ve been staying mostly at all-inclusive Hotels, so the welcome drink—only sweet plum liqueur and plum juice—felt a bit underwhelming. The sofa in the changing room looked expensive, but all the seat cushions were worn out and sunken, making it uncomfortable to sit on. The dinner buffet was excellent—the sushi, hamburg steak, and turban shell were especially delicious. The tuna sashimi had a nice chewy texture, and the pizza was served fresh from the oven. There was also a wide variety of colorful, stylish desserts. There were plenty of staff at both the front desk and restaurant, and they cleared plates quickly after we finished eating, which I appreciated. Breakfast was also good—especially onigiri after overeating the day before. I didn’t use it, but the pool is free; the Onsen is free-flowing; and the open-air bath was comfortable and relaxing because you can stand in it easily. Towels are provided in the changing room as well, so you can go without bringing anything. I’d like to visit again if I have another chance.

    Excellent value for money

    This Hotel has many young children and is lively overall. As a result, it may not be ideal for a quiet, adults-only trip. We stayed for a family vacation this time, so we had no issues and were able to relax comfortably. All of the meals were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Onsen was extremely crowded after dinner and we couldn’t get in, but it was relatively quiet in the morning and we could enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Overall, we were very satisfied and felt it was a Hotel with great value for money.

    It was great.

    I visited for the first time with my five grandchildren, my daughter-in-law, and a group of eight. My grandchildren loved the pool; if I had to say one thing, I wish we could have used it earlier than 2:00 PM. The breakfast and dinner buffets were among the best we’ve had anywhere—everything was delicious.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay. We stayed as a group of five, including my sister, niece, and her two children. The illumination was beautiful, and the kids enjoyed spotting various animals after visiting Adventure World before staying at the accommodation. After chatting during a walk, we headed to the Onsen. The outdoor bath was deep, so adults carried the kids on their backs while bathing, which they seemed to enjoy even more. Both dinner and breakfast offered plenty of choices that we all enjoyed. I especially loved the tuna sushi and ended up having seconds! It’s a great place for families. However, it was disappointing that the sink stopper in the bathroom was weak and caused water to splash around when used. If room inspections were more thorough, it would have been a perfect stay!

    A Place to Relax and Unwind

    A relaxing place to unwind and rejuvenate. The bath is deep, allowing for a warm and soothing experience. Meals were delicious and plentiful. With a check-out time of 11:00 AM, you can enjoy a leisurely morning.

    The atmosphere exceeded expectations with beautiful illuminations! The variety of food, including Onsen eggs, rolled omelets, grilled horse mackerel, soups, and salted ice cream, was enjoyable and delicious! Thoughtful amenities were a pleasant surprise. The large public bath was spacious and simple, while the open-air bath featured stunning design and lovely illuminations. The compact cold bath at 17°C was also very comfortable to use. Overall, it surpassed expectations! The lobby ambiance and service were excellent as well. Thank you very much; I look forward to visiting again!

    Highly Satisfied!

    I have stayed here multiple times and always enjoy my visits. This time, being the start of the winter holidays, there were many families with children. Seeing their joyful smiles at the pool brought happiness to everyone around. It truly felt peaceful. The food was absolutely satisfying, exceeding expectations. As a sauna enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Although the sound of the wind at night made my sleep a bit lighter, I am already looking forward to visiting again. Thank you!

    This is the second time.

    I have stayed here several times, but last time they brought my luggage for me, whereas this time I was told to handle it myself, which surprised me. The amount of food served was also less than before, which was disappointing. However, the garden illumination was nice. Overall, it feels like a reasonably priced accommodation.

    Family-friendly

    I occasionally travel with my grandchild, and since this is their favorite Hotel, we have stayed here several times. With a pool and illuminations, my grandchild seems very satisfied and often asks to visit Koganoi again. The buffet also seems enjoyable for children.

    More disappointing than expected.

    I chose this place for the indoor pool. The changing room for both the Onsen and pool is combined, and since people play in the pool barefoot, it was soaking wet. There were float rings left around in the changing room, making it messy and inconvenient. Despite this, there was only one toilet available, causing children chilled from swimming to knock on the door impatiently. The special Japanese-style Room was spacious but had a terrible toilet setup. There was a urinal right before entering the main toilet area. It felt unpleasant and uncomfortable; I hope they remove it. Additionally, flushing required reaching for a lever located deep inside, forcing small children to get too close to the bowl. The Room itself was relatively clean but seemed outdated when it came to facilities like the toilet. The Onsen experience also lost its appeal due to how dirty the changing room was. This time I used various coupons which made my stay slightly cheaper, but considering how expensive it is during peak seasons and without improvements being made, I probably won’t return again.

    The overall atmosphere was excellent.

    The pool and Onsen were excellent. However, there were minor concerns such as the brownish tatami in the guest room and some torn wallpaper. The meals offered a wide variety and were satisfying overall, but the grilled beef at dinner had a strong unique smell that did not suit my taste. The staff's hospitality was outstanding.

    A bit disappointing in the end...

    This time, I stayed with my husband and two friends. I have used this place several times before. I liked it because the meals were abundant and reasonably priced, and the taste was not bad either. However, this time it felt like there were fewer appetizer options compared to before. One thing that was a bit disappointing during checkout... Although you kindly provided us with an in-house coupon, we completely forgot to use it—this was entirely our fault. Still, it would have been nice if someone had asked us if we had any coupons left to use before completing the process. Forgetting to use it made me feel like the service lost its purpose, which seemed unfortunate. Other than that, I was overall satisfied with my stay. Thank you for your hospitality! I look forward to staying again in the future!

    The Resort Hotel fea...

    The Resort Hotel features a heated pool and stunning illuminations, truly living up to its name. The Room was very spacious and comfortable. Being located on a hill, the view from the window was unobstructed and breathtaking. Despite being a weekday, there were many guests, so we couldn't secure our preferred dining time. When we arrived at the start time, there were already long lines for popular dishes, creating a constant bustling atmosphere. Unfortunately, we missed out on limited sashimi offerings but overall found the food to be delicious. The taste of the salted ice cream I tried for the first time is unforgettable—I wish it had been available as part of breakfast desserts too!

    The Onsen bath had less of the characteristic Onsen smell compared to before.

    The Onsen smell was not as strong as before, which felt a bit lacking. The view from the Room was excellent and gave a sense of fulfillment. The quality of the meal ingredients was great, and I was very satisfied. I would like to use this place again.

    It was excellent.

    We stayed here again for a golf trip with my husband, my father, and two friends (a group of four men). We always return very satisfied, but this time the Kue Kaiseki meal was particularly excellent. Thank you to all the staff as always!

    Exceptional hospitality and exquisite kaiseki cuisine!

    In Shirahama, we visited a total of six Hotels and Ryokans, but the hospitality in Japanese cuisine here was unparalleled. During our meal, when my elderly mother felt unwell, the attentive care provided was truly remarkable and deeply appreciated. While many may associate Karakami Kanko with buffets, the delicacy, exquisite flavors, and excellent cost performance of their kaiseki cuisine were outstanding. We will definitely complete the Reservation again with a kaiseki cuisine Plan and sincerely hope that this level of quality is maintained.

    Exceptional service

    We had a wonderful stay with my son and grandchildren. The indoor pool area was fantastic, with a relaxing space by the poolside where my grandchild could play happily. It was also convenient that the large public bath was right next to it, allowing us to go there directly. Additionally, my daughter-in-law lost her ring during our stay, but the staff kindly searched for it in the vast Hotel and managed to find it. We are truly grateful for your help at that time.

    Regarding the Room

    The cuisine and Onsen were excellent. The pillow in the Room was too low, and the mattress on the bed seemed worn out, with springs pressing against my back, which was slightly uncomfortable.

    A Hotel with Wonderful Hospitality

    The staff were all kind, polite, and friendly. The attention to detail throughout the facility was wonderful. In particular, we appreciated the thoughtful touches for families with children, such as kids' chairs and wet wipes prepared at the restaurant tables, as well as the well-equipped baby amenities in the Room (step stool, child toilet seat, amenities, diaper trash bin, bottle detergent, etc.). If I may suggest improvements: it would be great if the pool could be used until around 11 a.m., and it would be helpful to address the long lines for sushi and tempura during dinner.

    Is it a lapse in memory or the passage of time?

    This was our third stay, following visits in 2019 (with a 7-month-old) and 2021 (with a 2.5-year-old), all in the Welcome Baby Room. However, our rating has dropped due to the following three points: 1. Passive Smoking While I had previously noticed that this facility seemed "smoker-friendly" (e.g., allowing IQOS smoking in the café area), I was very uncomfortable seeing people smoking near an ashtray placed right by the entrance. In this day and age, having an ashtray at the entrance feels outdated and inappropriate for a Welcome Baby Accommodation. 2. Room Odor I don't recall noticing it during previous stays, but upon entering the room this time, there was an unpleasant smell resembling urine. While my nose eventually adjusted to it, it did detract from our enjoyment by about 10%. It wasn’t just musty or dusty like older Ryokan might have—it specifically smelled like urine. 3. Buffet Dinner times were assigned on a first-come-first-served basis at check-in, meaning late check-ins could result in dinner being as late as around 8 PM—a challenge for families with young children who usually eat at 6 PM like ours. Additionally, while buffet-style dining may often be hit-or-miss, we found some dishes disappointing; for example, Wakayama ramen tasted overly diluted—more like water than proper broth or seasoning—and desserts were quite limited in variety. Not necessarily a negative point but worth noting: The pool is fairly deep at about 120 cm; small children who cannot swim with their faces underwater will need floaties and goggles. On the plus side, changing areas are shared with the bathhouse facilities and towels are conveniently provided. While its proximity to Adventure World is great, we likely won’t choose this accommodation again next time.
