Ryokan Maizuru

Despite concerns about arriving during the heavy snow warning, public transportation was running smoothly, allowing us to arrive safely and enjoy our stay. The meals were delightful, with each dish explained in detail. The fresh fish allowed us to savor the flavors of the Tohoku region, making it worthwhile to choose a meal-inclusive plan. The host's experience working at a renowned Tosa cuisine restaurant was evident in the quality of the dishes. The inclusion of both Japanese and Western-style dishes added variety, which we greatly appreciated.

Conveniently located for sightseeing, close to Motsu-ji Temple and within walking distance of Chuson-ji Temple. The Ryokan itself is simple with only a few Rooms, but the relatively new, clean building makes for a relaxing stay. I chose it because the Reviews praised the meals—and they were absolutely right. Every dish was beautifully presented with refined flavors. The creative cuisine makes the most of high-quality ingredients, and I was simply moved by how delicious each course was. It was such an outstanding dinner that I wondered if this price was really enough.
