Rental Villa Ork Hirugano

We stayed at the Nest Lab with a sauna as a couple and our one-year-old child, and we were very satisfied. When we inquired about a chair for our child, they provided a very clean high chair, allowing the three of us to enjoy a relaxing hot pot meal together. The kitchen was well-equipped with cooking utensils, and seasonings were available for purchase at the reception desk. Although the nighttime temperature dropped to -7°C, the heater, floor heating, and window insulation kept it warm enough inside—almost too warm! There was also a coat rack and ski storage area near the entrance with heaters that could be used like a drying room. A shovel and snow brush for cars were provided at the entrance as well, showcasing their thorough snow preparation measures. The barrel sauna was clean and came equipped with aroma water, drinks, sauna wear, etc., which allowed us to fully enjoy it throughout the night. Initially, the floor of the sauna felt cold but circulating air using towels helped warm up the entire space. The exposed stove in the center allowed us to enjoy "löyly" (steam), but it might pose some risks for those unfamiliar with saunas. A bit more instruction on how to use it would be helpful.One issue we encountered was that the Bluetooth speaker provided picked up signals from neighboring lodges' speakers as well. It became difficult to distinguish between them on our smartphone interface; sometimes their music played on our speaker or vice versa. We hope this can be addressed in future improvements!

Opted for a cottage stay instead of glamping due to the cost. It was our first one-night stay, and we loved the convenience of parking right in front of the cottage without the hassle of setting up a tent. Among various cottages offered by the owner, we chose a slightly smaller one that was just perfect for our family of four. Before dinner, we enjoyed fishing for ayu at the pond, and at night had a BBQ where they even prepared and grilled our catch—absolutely satisfying! Oky Hirugano is simple yet well-maintained, and we'd love to stay for two nights next time! Highly recommended for visiting Bokka no Sato or stargazing within walking distance.
