Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Unzen Toyokan

I wanted to stay at Unzen Onsen, so I searched for a Hotel where I could stay overnight. This was one of the few Hotels in Unzen Onsen that also accepts solo guests, so I decided to stay here.There is a shop inside the building selling souvenirs and more, and I bought some souvenirs there. It was very well stocked.There are large public Onsen baths on B1 and the 5th floor. The large bath on the 5th floor has an open-air bath, and since it’s on the top floor you can enjoy the view outside while soaking—it felt wonderful.I chose a Plan with dinner and breakfast included, so I enjoyed two meals. Dinner was buffet-style, with an incredible variety of dishes such as Obama champon, hot pot, lemon steak, squid and shrimp nigiri sushi, sashimi including tuna, and tempura like shrimp, bamboo shoots, and lotus root. Everything was delicious.Breakfast was also buffet-style and included Shimabara somen noodles, marinated tuna rice bowls (zuke-maguro don), and sea bream broth ochazuke. The flavors were gentle yet very tasty. I was completely satisfied with both meals—and ate until I was full.The front desk staff and everyone else were very cheerful and helpful, which made my stay truly comfortable. Thank you very much. I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

The guest rooms are old, but the futons were fluffy and clean. The fatty tuna sushi at the dinner buffet was incredibly delicious, as was the tuna sashimi. The sweet potato tempura, beef stew, and other dishes were all very tasty. The rice used was of high quality, and even for a buffet, the food was well-prepared. The facility is spacious and offers amenities like karaoke and a manga space, making it enjoyable for families. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
