    A Stylish Hotel

    The refined service from the front desk staff and doormen—truly the face of the Hotel—was impressive. I could feel a sense of tradition throughout the entire building, including the Room. What disappointed me was breakfast. The dining hall staff didn’t seem attentive enough to guests; it felt like they were just trying to get through people. Also, many of the dishes were cold, and I was somewhat surprised that quite a few items were left unreplenished for a long time. It was disappointing to feel that my satisfaction from the first day was cut in half.

    A Hotel with heartfelt hospitality

    I enjoyed my previous stay in the Espacio Room, so I chose to stay here again while I had plans in the Sakae area. This time, my Room was upgraded, and thanks to the courteous explanations and service, I was able to spend a very pleasant day.

    Excellent

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay for a live concert. I’ve used various Hotels, but this one offered check-in at a private desk with a luxurious feel—I was surprised, as it was my first time experiencing that. The staff were also very pleasant. In the lobby, there was a large floral arrangement, and the fragrance filled the space, which made me feel happy. The amenities were well stocked, and the body soap and shampoo were BVLGARI. However, it was disappointing that there was no body wash towel. I would recommend it to friends and would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    We finally got to stay here!

    Because my family home is in my hometown, I rarely get the chance to stay at a Hotel there, but I finally had the opportunity! It’s a classic Hotel, so some people may feel it’s old, but we found it elegant, and both the Room and the staff were full of hospitality. My husband especially loved how comfortable the bed was and how calm and relaxing the guest Room felt. The amenities, in-room items, and food were all thoroughly filled with local pride—it really makes you want to support them. Although it’s a classic Hotel, it was also great to see younger staff members playing an active role. Even though we arrived late, we were able to enjoy a warm meal in our Room through room service, which was truly appreciated after a long day. Full-service Hotels like this have become rarer these days, so I hope they keep it just as it is. My husband said that next time he definitely wants to try Nagoya specialties at the restaurant, the morning service breakfast set, and even the lounge’s pudding à la mode! Even as a couple nearing our 60th birthdays, this Hotel gave us far too many things we want to do. We’d love to stay again.

    Unfortunately, I couldn’t shake my initial impression.

    Perhaps my expectations were too high, or perhaps many staff have been transferred to sister Hotels, but throughout the stay I felt there was a staffing shortage. I arrived at the entrance by taxi, but there was no greeting. I assumed several arrivals had come in at once, yet once inside, both a doorman and bell staff were present. When I told them I was staying on the Espacio Floor, they headed toward the elevator to the dedicated lounge and asked my name. I thought they would escort me, but instead said, “Please proceed to your right when you get off.” The moment I stepped out of the elevator, I nearly bumped into a staff member—who only said “Oh, please go ahead.” Turning right led to the lounge. A staff member sitting at the desk asked, “Are you checking in?”—the information given downstairs clearly hadn’t been shared. After the explanations were finished and I received my key, it was simply “Please head to your Room.” So I asked whether there would be an escort; they replied, “I’m the only one here right now, so I’ll see you as far as the elevator,” and “If you have any questions, please contact Reception.” Some consideration for my partner carrying a Boston bag would have been appreciated. The renovated suite has narrow doorways throughout (including at the entrance). This may be inconvenient for larger guests. With so many cabinet doors for long-stay amenities such as a washer and microwave storage, it may be unavoidable. Otherwise, it was a comfortable Room: tasteful furnishings; a bed with just the right firmness; pleasant-to-the-touch loungewear and bathrobes—key elements for an enjoyable stay were well covered. The bathroom had a wooden stool and wash bucket. Amenities included BVLGARI shampoo products and men’s skincare items in both sufficient quality and quantity; however during turndown service only towels were replaced—amenities were not replenished. In the lounge (except at breakfast), there was no guidance to seating or explanation of available food/drinks; used plates were cleared infrequently; champagne service began in the afternoon. The sweets looked great visually; flavors varied by item. Evening offerings included enough warm dishes to feel satisfying without being excessive. For breakfast there were three set options—I chose miso oden—and everything else was buffet-style; omelets and rice balls were prepared at a live kitchen station. The guest-only library is open 24 hours and offers an excellent selection across many genres—history, Japanese culture, fashion—with books and photo collections that make you lose track of time. There are plenty of seats as well. In addition to soft drinks (very Nagoya), we could enjoy Shiruko Sand cookies and Kuppy Ramune candy tablets/drink mix snacks too. The 2:00 p.m late checkout benefit for D members was much appreciated. The person who handled checkout in the lounge had a gentle manner and provided pleasant service; however it couldn’t make up for how things felt on arrival or for what came across overall as frequent private chatter among staff—which was disappointing."""

    The indoor pool is amazing.

    Overall, it was great value for money and we were satisfied. In particular, the recently renovated indoor pool is well designed, with plenty of space not only in the pool itself but also around it, which made it enjoyable.

    Long-established Hotel

    The Hotel had a charming atmosphere. Although it is said to be the oldest in Nagoya, it didn’t feel dated and was clean and well maintained. The staff’s service was excellent, and it became a Hotel I would like to visit again. Osu Kannon Temple and the shopping streets are within walking distance, and we enjoyed a leisurely walk all the way to Nagoya Castle. There are many restaurants nearby as well, so we were able to fully enjoy Nagoya cuisine.

    As expected from a long-established Hotel, it was excellent.

    This was my first stay, and it was a wonderful Hotel. I accidentally made a Reservation for a smoking Room, but at check-in the staff immediately explained that they could deodorize it if needed, which put me at ease. Still, we don’t smoke, so I was worried it might bother us—but when we got to the Room, there was no noticeable smell at all, and we had a very comfortable stay. The IKYU Plan Diamond benefits were included, and we even received a Room upgrade (honestly not something I expected), which was a pleasant surprise. On top of that, sparkling wine and late check-out were also included—truly appreciated. The Room was comfortable, and the service felt properly attentive in the way you’d expect from a long-established Hotel. There are bell staff as well, and these days it’s rare to find in-room phones that connect easily to the front desk. The Hotel is spacious too—I feel this kind of classic Hotel experience is becoming quite precious. There are several restaurants in the Hotel, all with an upscale atmosphere. Next time I’d like to dine on-site. There’s also a bakery—exceptionally delicious without being overpriced—and they have pastries and cakes as well, so it was hard to choose. In the lobby café there was live music—it felt truly luxurious. I also appreciated the morning newspaper delivery service. On the front desk floor there are plenty of spacious sofa seats for guests to use freely. They offer complimentary drink service including excellent coffee; you can pick up books from the shelves and read them slowly on soft sofas—I found it very relaxing. It was Sunday with many weddings taking place, and seeing brides as well made me happy. I heard this historic Hotel has welcomed many distinguished guests in the past, and I could really feel how much effort goes into maintaining such high standards in every aspect—service quality included. As uniquely Japanese hospitality continues to fade with changing times, this Hotel stood out as truly exceptional. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much to everyone at the Hotel for your kindness during my stay.

    Wonderful

    This was the best Hotel I’ve stayed at in Nagoya. The hospitality, amenities, and range of services were truly impressive. I was genuinely moved.

    Highly recommended.

    I stayed at Espacio this time. It was very clean and comfortable. Check-in at the lounge went smoothly, and since I’m a Diamond member, they immediately arranged a Room upgrade and late check-out. The night before, when I stayed nearby for one night, the benefits weren’t provided so easily, and lately it often seems difficult to receive them elsewhere, so I was really happy. I also used the gym and sauna. It was a bit of a walk to get there, but everything was clean and clearly signposted, so it was an enjoyable trip. I could relax with the latest equipment as well as the spacious sauna and bath. I used the lounge in the evening too, and I loved that champagne was available freely (it’s usually just sparkling wine). The snacks were delicious as well. Overall, I highly recommend it. There are similar places in Tokyo, but I think they would cost at least twice as much. I’d like to visit again. One suggestion: I expected the lounge offerings to change between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, but there wasn’t much difference—so a bit more variety would be appreciated. Also, while my Deluxe Room was spacious and great overall, it would be helpful to have a full-length mirror near the door. The refrigerator was located behind a door far from the main area of the Room (maybe only in this Room), which made it slightly inconvenient when I wanted a drink. Also, there were only champagne glasses provided—so having regular juice/water glasses would be nice (they may have been available somewhere else, but I couldn’t find them). These are just things I noticed—I hope this Accommodation continues to improve even further. Thank you very much.

    It was an elegant and relaxing stay.

    Thank you for upgrading our Room; it was a lovely, spacious twin Room. We relaxed in the Room, and went nearby for dinner—there were plenty of restaurants thanks to the great location. We would like to stay again next time.

    A Regular Accommodation in Nagoya

    Everything was high quality—the Room, service, and meals. A twin Multiple Night Stay with breakfast was very reasonably priced, and we were even upgraded. We were also upgraded last July. We will stay again.

    While prices are rising at every Hotel, I really appreciate that you have kept your rates relatively stable. I was also very happy that you remembered my previous request and had everything prepared. When staying in Nagoya, this long-established Hotel—continuing to evolve in a modern way—is still my first choice. I’m sorry for the strict rating on breakfast. Breakfast standards are high at any Hotel in Nagoya, so as a prestigious Hotel, I hope you will make a bit more effort—with high expectations.

    A Favorite Dining Venue

    One of the reasons I chose this Hotel was for the breakfast. The breakfast venue was wonderful. It wasn’t overly decorated or bland; it had just the right, comfortable atmosphere. The size, the layout of the food and seating, and the flow of movement were all excellent. It was simply a pleasant space to be in. In particular, I loved sitting by the window and enjoying breakfast while watching people pass by through windows set slightly above street level. The breakfast buffet selection also had no unnecessary items or duplicates—everything I wanted was there. That’s why I’m truly disappointed that the breakfast venue has been relocated. I used the new venue, but it made me miss the previous one...

    An Extraordinary, One-of-a-Kind Experience

    It was such a relaxing space that I wanted to stay in the Room, and I was able to unwind at a leisurely pace. This time, I also used the spa. It isn’t very large, but the amenities are the same as in the Room, and the fragrance is wonderful—absolutely perfect. The route to the spa was interesting too, with stairs and narrow corridors along the way. Wherever I went, the staff were kind and kept a comfortable distance, and the lounge was easy to spend time in as well. Thank you for accommodating my request this time. I really enjoyed the rose sparkling rosé. I’m looking forward to July as well. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    I am always satisfied with your excellent service (such as arranging taxis). I assume it was just by chance this time, but unfortunately the bathroom had a musty smell. I considered mentioning it, but since it was only the bathroom, I thought it would be fine if I kept the door closed and decided to put up with it. Also, perhaps because I became a Diamond member, I feel like the number of towels and bathrobes has decreased compared to before—am I imagining that? If I am mistaken, I sincerely apologize.

    Espacio Club Lounge

    I was very satisfied with both the service and the room. The Club Lounge offered a wide variety of dishes, which was enjoyable, but overall the hot items felt not warm enough—only slightly warm—so I think a higher serving temperature would be better. One disappointment was that although champagne was available, it was served in glasses that did not preserve the bubbles. Since the choice of glassware can enhance the experience, I would appreciate it if you could consider this.

    The Room’s classic atmosphere and the outstanding service truly reflected the prestige of one of Nagoya’s long-established Hotels. We dined at the Italian restaurant in the Hotel, which has an authentic oven, and everything was delicious. I’d love to stay again!

    Highly rated Hotel

    I visit Nagoya from time to time, and I decided to stay here because it has an excellent reputation for the price. What I liked: the Room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was large, the facilities on the 6th floor were well equipped (variety of drinks, hours of use, etc.), and checkout is at 12:00. It was also nice that there is a park in front of the Hotel, giving an open view. I didn’t walk around much beyond the 6th floor and the 13th floor where I stayed, but I expected to find some areas that felt a bit dated—however, there were none. Although I didn’t use them, there was a great selection of drinks in the refrigerator, which felt like thoughtful Japanese-style hospitality. Some people may appreciate having liver-support or fatigue-recovery drinks available without needing to go out. Overall, compared with the price, this was a very satisfying Hotel.

    They accommodated an unexpected extended stay due to bad weather.

    Due to heavy snow, the roads were closed, and I had to stay another night. The staff kindly arranged for me to continue using the same room I stayed in the previous night. Their thoughtful and friendly service was much appreciated. Additionally, this hotel offers takeout bread and cakes that are very reasonably priced and delicious, which I enjoy every time I visit.

    Enjoy a Comfortable Stay

    This time, I booked the Christmas Plan at ESPACIO and, combined with the benefits of being an IKYU Diamond Member, I had a truly delightful and happy experience. I used The Spa ESPACIO MEIKAN for a morning bath. Since it is newly built, it was very clean, and as there were no other users at the time, it was extremely pleasant. It felt like a great addition to the Facility. The route to get there involved some winding roads with ups and downs, but it was beautifully decorated and gave off a strong sense of being in an extraordinary place. Although you have to step outside briefly, measures against the cold were well-considered; there were items to wear just before going out and heaters installed along the pathway, so it should be fine except in midwinter. I have used ESPACIO's lounge several times before; it's comfortable with delicious food and drinks that always satisfy me. The variety of alcoholic beverages is particularly impressive—especially those sourced locally from Aichi Prefecture—which adds to the travel experience nicely. (Although they no longer offer morning craft beer or other alcohol options during breakfast hours—a slight disappointment for someone who enjoys drinking—the reduction is minimal.) If given another opportunity, I would love to use this Facility again in future stays!

    It kept getting better and better.

    Thank you for hosting us again during our Nagoya gourmet trip. The consistent service and clean Room were impressive, and the ever-improving Espacio Lounge was wonderful. The miso dishes at breakfast, which were delicious last time, tasted even better this time. The rice balls, which weren’t available before, were also delightful. However, the steamed pork buns during aperitif and the rice in the breakfast mabushi dish fell a bit short for a Hotel of this caliber. Looking forward to our next visit!

    Satisfaction

    It was my first time using the service. I accidentally reserved a smoking room and didn’t realize it until the day of check-in, but they kindly changed it to a non-smoking room at check-in. The attentive service made my stay very satisfying. I will definitely use this service again.

    A flawless Hotel

    Over the past few years, I have visited Nagoya several times a year and stayed at various hotels, but I believe Nagoya Kanko Hotel offers the best service. The hotel is being renovated in stages, so there were some changes compared to my previous stay, but the staff's attentiveness made me feel comfortable and secure. However, this time the breakfast restaurant was different from before, and personally, I preferred the previous one. For this reason, I rated the dining experience 4 stars. In terms of convenience and service, this hotel remains my top choice in Nagoya.

    Elegant Hotel

    Since I live in Nagoya, I never had the opportunity to stay at this accommodation before. This time, due to an event, I stayed here for the first time. Being a traditional hotel, the building is understandably not new. However, everything from the room to every detail was clean and did not feel old at all. You can sense the pride of this hotel in maintaining its quality. Upon entering the room, there was ample closet space and a spacious bathroom, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. While the room itself wasn’t particularly large, it was well-designed for comfort and usability—something I really appreciated. The meals were served buffet-style and were both delicious and diverse in selection. My wife mentioned that having soft-serve ice cream would have made it perfect for her, but I found it satisfying as is. This is a hotel you’d want to recommend to others!

    For over 20 years, I have stayed at this accommodation every January for work. Although my check-in time is always late, I feel a sense of relief and comfort as soon as I arrive at the hotel. Once I enter the room, its coziness makes me not want to leave, so I always order room service. The menu is very extensive, but the large fried shrimp I had last year was so delicious that I ordered it again this year. The batter and shrimp head were crispy, and the shrimp itself was plump and juicy—absolutely delicious once again. The room and interior are lovely, but what stands out most are the incredibly soft towels and bathrobes. This long-established hotel maintains its timeless charm with friendly staff who provide warm hospitality, making it a truly relaxing place to stay. I'm already looking forward to staying here again next year!

    Espacio Stay Journal

    I experienced a morning stretch session this time. As it was my first time, we started with stretching areas like the hip joints. The session included about 30 minutes of light stretching to check flexibility and gradually improve it step by step. By the end, my posture had significantly improved, leaving me feeling great—perhaps thanks to the excellent instruction. The pool was very warm, with two jacuzzis available and plenty of relaxing beds for a comfortable experience. Additionally, the staff were extremely kind and attentive, making the entire experience truly pleasant.

    Stay at Nagoya Kanko Hotel

    As always, this Hotel offers an exceptional experience. You can enjoy meals, drinks, and relaxation at your own pace. With the addition of a pool, sauna, and bath facilities, the Hotel has evolved even further to provide everything you need for a perfect stay. It’s a place where you can fully enjoy comfort and refreshment. There are also various activities to participate in that make each visit enjoyable. This time, I tried morning yoga. Practicing by the poolside helped warm up my sleepy body in the morning and brought balance to my day. Thanks to the kind and thorough guidance of the instructor, even as a first-timer in yoga, I had an incredibly enjoyable time. I am truly grateful for this experience and have started incorporating some practices at home as well. I look forward to visiting again!
