Miyaike-Hachimangu Station × Highly rated for rooms and amenities at Hotel·Ryokan

The garden was lovely. The creative cuisine was delicious, and the sauna was thoughtfully arranged. The Room was spacious and clean, and the layout was great, but it felt a bit too minimalist, so I gave it 4 stars. The service was polite, but it felt somewhat mechanical like a Business Hotel; I would have appreciated a warmer, more personal touch from someone like a manager or hostess, so I rated it 4 stars as well. Overall, though, I was very satisfied and would recommend it to friends.

I have vivid memories of staying here during the pandemic with a friend, and I was happy to return again on a solo trip. Above all, the location is truly wonderful—although it’s in the city, it still feels like you’ve come to a resort, letting you enjoy an extraordinary escape. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive, and you can really feel hospitality rooted in tradition. The entire beautiful building is charming, and it’s lovely to see how carefully it’s maintained. I’d love to stay again.

The rooms are old but well-cleaned, giving a sense of cleanliness and comfort. It would have been even better if there was a refrigerator. The meals were delicious, and thanks to the vegetarian cuisine, I didn’t feel heavy even after being full. The dining hall staff were also very pleasant. I would like to revisit and stay again once the renovation of Konpon Chudo is completed.

I stayed for one night starting April 15. It was located right by the bus stop, which made getting around very convenient. The Room was very clean and comfortable! The owner was very kind and gave me guidance on the bus as well as recommendations for a bakery and a Japanese sweets shop. It made for a very enjoyable trip. Thank you very much.

The moment I stepped into the Room, I couldn’t help but say, “Wow!” It was spacious, spotless, and truly amazing. The large, beautiful living space was wonderful, and the bathroom and vanity area were also incredibly stylish. The bath even had microbubbles, and the shower fixtures were uniquely placed and very chic. Everything in the refrigerator and the snacks were free. There were also delicious Ajari Mochi in the Room—such thoughtful hospitality in every detail. And it wasn’t just stylish and clean: there were two power outlets by each side of the bed, plenty of outlets throughout, a full-length mirror that was easy to use, and pajamas that were extremely comfortable—everything was simply outstanding. The service was polite and kind, making my stay very comfortable. Breakfast delivered to the Room featured delicious dishes from Sensan. It came in a bento box, but the rice was warm and the soup was piping hot—truly delicious. I was moved by such an elegant breakfast. The view from the Room was also stunningly beautiful. I’m so happy I got to stay here. Thank you very much.

If you're visiting Kyoto and prefer staying at a Ryokan instead of a Hotel, you might want to consider an even more luxurious experience at this Accommodation. Upon arrival, you'll be awed by the grand gate of Kinkakuji Temple. Walking through the wooden door and along the gravel path in the front garden feels like stepping into another world, far removed from everyday life. In addition to clean, modern Japanese-style rooms with new facilities akin to those of a high-end Ryokan, you can enjoy exclusive access to a beautiful garden surrounded by nature. Although it's called "Shukubo," it is open to everyone and allows for casual participation in comfortable attire. The resident monk and his wife are incredibly friendly as well. This Accommodation offers an affordable yet luxurious experience comparable to that of high-end Ryokans. Memorable activities include making bracelets with natural stones, enjoying Shojin Ryori (traditional Buddhist vegetarian breakfast), and participating in morning prayers—all adding up to an unforgettable stay.

I’m glad I chose the best course where I could enjoy something like a tilefish bouillabaisse. The next day, I had scorpionfish at another restaurant, so it was truly wonderful to experience the delicate flavor of tilefish that I hadn’t known before. I look forward to enjoying the kama bath even more next time!

Thank you for your hospitality. The place was clean, and the room had a table, allowing me to study until the last minute. It was quiet and comfortable. Although carrying my suitcase up to the room was a bit challenging, I plan to stay again as long as my legs are strong enough. This time, I stayed here for Kyoto University's graduate school entrance exam, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. On the exam day, there were delays due to an accident on JR lines, causing some people to be late. Being so close to Kyoto University was incredibly helpful that day. Thanks to this stay, I passed the exam! I look forward to staying here again with my family in the future. Thank you very much!

We received several calls in advance, and at check-in, we were welcomed with a charcoal hearth and matcha tea served by the host. The surprising bath facilities allowed us to relax fully.
