My mother’s family home is in Kurobe City, and for decades my family has teased me about how I nearly drowned here as a child. I visited again for the first time in over 50 years. The hot spring at Kofukaku was wonderful, but I especially liked the baths at Karuna-no-Yakata. The meals were good overall, but I’d like to see more local specialties at breakfast (especially kamaboko).

Stayed for the spa. The result was amazing. The spa is great, but the room is also excellent. After the spa, I relaxed on the large single sofa in the room and enjoyed the lingering feeling. Completely satisfied.
