Zeze Honmachi Station × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

It was my first trip to Shiga, and everything was perfect. The view from the Hotel and the Room were amazing. In one (or two) words: "Comfortable" and "Impressive." Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The view of Lake Biwa was outstanding—at this height it’s something you won’t find at other Hotels. Even from the restaurant, we could enjoy the same view, and it was wonderful throughout our stay. There is no Onsen, but the bathroom was a clean unit bath with a washing area like at home, so I could relax and soak in the tub. The hot water filled up quickly as well. It was also nice that the toilet was separate. A stylish Hotel Room can be nice too, but this one was practical and easy to use. It was comfortable to sleep in pajamas instead of a yukata. Dinner had a 90-minute time limit, but it was more than enough. I wanted to try local dishes, so I chose the buffet instead of French cuisine. There were so many options that it was fun. The salad selection included lots of beautiful fresh vegetables and high-quality olive oil, which made me happy. The Shiga specialties were delicious as well. Both morning and evening offered all-you-can-eat soft-serve ice cream in three flavors; I had it with espresso as an affogato. The fresh milk soft serve was especially delicious. I’d never seen a machine at any other Hotel that bakes pancakes right in front of you and serves them fresh. Lately, even when there is an Onsen, I’ve found it stressful due to guests without proper manners (regardless of nationality) or people with tattoos despite posted notices—so having a spacious in-room bath with a washing area may actually be better. All staff members were very pleasant. In particular, the housekeeping team greeted us with cheerful “Good morning” and “Welcome back” in louder voices than at other Hotels, which felt great. In the lobby, luxurious fresh flowers were displayed among flowing water, and the large space carried the fragrance of lilies—something you don’t see at other Hotels. Spring-like fresh flowers were also arranged in the restaurant; with artificial flowers being so common elsewhere, this felt special. We also took walks along Lake Biwa outside the Hotel both at night and in the morning—the scenery truly is amazing. My family loved it too, and we felt refreshed. I would love to stay here again.

Whenever I visit Otsu, I always choose to stay here. This time, three generations of our family stayed together, and from check-in onward we truly appreciated the staff’s warm greetings and thorough explanations. We also enjoyed a wonderful stay thanks to the clean Room and the large public bath. For our wedding anniversary in October, we always relax in the club lounge. We look forward to staying with you again this year.

A stylish space that blends modernity with the charm of an old building, this Hotel was truly wonderful. After soaking in the spacious bath, walking barefoot on the floor released a soothing aroma of cypress. I stayed at Omiya for two nights, and along the old Tokaido road where the Hotel is located, there are traditional Japanese confectionery shops and tea houses that have been around since the Edo period, giving a feeling of stepping back in time! The breakfast featured ingredients unique to Otsu and was absolutely delicious! I stayed with someone from Australia, and I believe this Hotel offers a great experience for foreign guests to truly feel Japan.

It was close to the station, quiet, and had a great selection of drinks, so I had a very comfortable stay.\nIf I visit Otsu again, I would like to stay here again.

After exiting the ticket gate, the Hotel entrance was just 50 meters away. You won’t get wet in the rain.

I had a quiet and comfortable stay. The building and Facilities feel a bit dated, but everything was kept clean, and nothing bothered me except the bathtub creaking. Breakfast also offered a well-balanced selection, and I was satisfied. I’d like to stay again.

This was my first time using this accommodation. I chose it because of its affordability, as I needed a place to stay for my child's game. Being a capsule hotel, it’s really just a place to sleep, but the space was sufficient. The shared showers, washrooms, and toilets were clean. Despite many other guests staying there, I was able to sleep quietly. The staff's service was also excellent. If there’s another game next year, I’ll definitely stay here again!

Perhaps because we visited on a weekday, the baths were almost private, and we could relax and take our time. The meals were excellent in both portion size and taste, and they were served in a private room. Since we had children with us, we really appreciated that. The Hotel staff were all very kind, and we would love to stay here again when we visit Shiga.

Stayed with the no-meal plan. I had already checked in advance that there was no bath, so it wasn't an issue, and I fully enjoyed a visit to a super public bath. The room was decorated with figures from my favorite anime, which made me very excited. It was close to both the station and Lake Biwa, so I went for walks to various places. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making my stay enjoyable. Thank you very much!
