Shin Hosono Station × Highly rated for customer service and hospitality at Hotel·Ryokan

First, the Accommodation’s location, surrounded by Nara’s famous sights, is outstanding. Next, the Room and bath Facilities are functional and very clean. The thoughtful design and maintenance, along with the staff’s attentive care, reflect high-quality management. Finally, the meals. They were high-quality in a traditional Nara-style Japanese cuisine, exactly as expected. It was a pity that Kofuku-ji Temple’s five-story pagoda—normally visible from the bath—was sadly covered by a temporary protective roof. Once the restoration work is finished, I’d like to visit again. Thank you very much.

Because our previous stay was wonderful, we stayed again to celebrate my son’s high school entrance, together with my parents. The food was also excellent, and my parents and son were very happy. My parents liked it so much that they said they would like to stay at this Hotel whenever they visit Nara. We are planning to visit again around autumn. Thank you in advance.

It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but overall it was a very satisfying Hotel. The Room and the bath were both spacious, so we could relax comfortably, and we even saw deer coming to visit through the window. Breakfast was all delicious, and we enjoyed chatting with the staff as well. One note: light comes in through the interior window on the entrance side of the bedroom, so it would be nice if it could be darkened. Even so, we’d love to stay again!

All the staff were kind and served us sincerely. First, I was surprised by the fluent Japanese of the Nepalese female staff member who welcomed us. I think it’s wonderful how much she has studied Japanese and etiquette. Later, I mistakenly operated the coffee machine in the lounge and spilled hot coffee on my hand, also dirtying a nearby container. I apologized at the front desk, but they cleaned it up without showing any displeasure. I feel very sorry about that. The Room felt compact, but it was clean, and the Japanese-style Room had a sunken kotatsu-style setup that was convenient to use. However, since the floor level of the Japanese-style Room is about as high as a bed and there are no handrails for getting on and off, we felt it could be a bit unsafe for elderly guests like us. We only had breakfast because we had plans in the evening, but we enjoyed healthy dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. We sometimes eat tea porridge when we come to Nara so it didn’t feel particularly unusual, but it did make us feel like we were truly in Nara. The bath was also spacious and nice. Above all, being in such a great location—just a 5-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station—is very appreciated for travelers like us who rely on public transportation.

I’m a returning guest. Once again, I was able to relax in a spotless bathroom and a very clean Room. The air conditioning was easy to adjust, the amenities were plentiful, and the in-Room facilities were new and easy to use, so I felt no stress at all. The location is excellent—close to the shops I wanted to visit and Nara Park. Above all, the front desk staff are wonderful every time. I’ll be back again next time for another relaxing stay.

This Accommodation made us feel warmly welcomed in every detail, and we were able to spend a relaxing, luxurious time. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes and were truly delicious. The private dining room also had a wonderful view of the city and cherry blossoms. We were completely satisfied with the Room and the baths.

I was looking forward to staying at the foot of Mt. Wakakusa. When I arrived, I found that although the old building had been renovated, the interior felt like a completely different world! And to my surprise, there was Michelin’s Bibendum. I hadn’t realized it was a Michelin-starred restaurant and even asked if it was okay to come in travel clothes (lol). The Room also impressed me—the ceiling slopes down at an angle, and the design is not only beautiful but incredibly detailed. Dining while watching the wood fire, and the richness of the drink pairing as well. I was moved from start to finish. Thank you very much.

The location is close to Sarusawa Pond, making it convenient for sightseeing. Naramachi is also nearby, so you can enjoy dining and shopping as well. The Hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need, and the Room size feels just right. The staff were kind and courteous, and they also helped with recommendations for places to eat. I chose the plan with breakfast included. It was buffet-style, and everything was carefully prepared—delicious and enjoyable. I looked forward to breakfast every morning. I arrived by rental car, but there is no dedicated Hotel parking lot. You can park at a flat rate in the adjacent (Mitsui) coin parking lot, but if it’s full you’ll need to find another option yourself. I spent the mornings exploring within walking distance and drove farther out in the afternoon, then returned in the evening to park again. At that time of day, it seemed like day-trippers were leaving, so it worked out well for me. This is a Hotel I’d like to stay at again when I visit Nara.

Based on the photos, I expected a very tasty breakfast with rice cooked in a traditional pot, but it was very disappointing. The ham in particular was poor quality, like what you might get at a Business Hotel. The rice was uneven—some parts were hard and others soft—and the roasted tea porridge felt like it was simply tea poured over rice. The location was excellent, but overall it was disappointing.

I made a Reservation with dinner and breakfast included, and every dish was delicious. The service was excellent, and I was very satisfied. The large public bath was a bit small, so I couldn’t fully relax, but everything else was wonderful. It’s a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

I chose this Hotel for my solo trip mainly for its price, but it exceeded my expectations and made my trip even more enjoyable. Above all, I was impressed by the staff’s warm service and bright smiles. The breakfast buffet was also far better than I expected, and I was very satisfied. This is a Hotel that makes me want to stay again.

The room was very clean, and I had a comfortable stay. The staff were also courteous and attentive. However, the refrigerator did not cool very well, so I rated the Facility and amenities 4. Overall, it was a very good Hotel.

The property was clean, easy to stay in, and comfortable. On the other hand, it felt a bit overpriced. I booked a Plan with no cleaning during a Multiple Night Stay, and even towel replacement wouldn’t be provided unless I requested it via the TV—and only once per day. It was just under 50,000 yen for two nights in a single room without meals, so I couldn’t help feeling they could offer a bit more service for the price. That said, laundry was free to wash and the gas dryer was 100 yen per 20 minutes, so I could do as much laundry as I wanted at almost no cost, which was very helpful. Also, while there were no direct issues, it felt like the hygiene manager may not be very resistant to pseudoscience, which could be a potential risk.

About 20 years ago, I first learned about Nara Hotel through a certain book. The book featured the exterior of the main building, and I was so captivated by its appearance that I dreamed of staying there someday. However, nearly 20 years passed without an opportunity. This time, to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, we finally stayed in the main building. From the moment we entrusted our luggage to the staff's warm hospitality, we were deeply moved. The detailed explanation during check-in was also exceptional. Upon returning from a stroll outside, every staff member made us feel as comfortable as if we had returned home. The room and interior decor reflected its rich history while providing a sense of comfort that allowed us to enjoy our stay fully. We had both breakfast and dinner during our stay; each meal was absolutely delicious and left us completely satisfied. The staff's explanations for each dish were clear and thoughtful as well. Dining at the tea lounge or bar while enjoying views of the surroundings offered an extraordinary experience beyond everyday life. Having stayed at many accommodations in both Kanto and Kansai areas over the years, Nara Hotel has undoubtedly become my personal number one hotel choice! My mother was also delighted with her experience here. We look forward to staying again in the future—thank you very much!

We stayed for two nights in two connecting Rooms for six people. The Rooms were clean, the front desk staff were kind, and we were satisfied with the breakfast buffet. With its convenient location near the station, it is an excellent Hotel. The only disappointment was that although the large public bath changing Room was clean, a used poultice patch left by someone beside the bath was still there the next day. I wondered if it had been missed during cleaning.

I didn’t expect to find such a great Hotel in such a convenient location. There’s a lounge where you can relax after sightseeing, local cuisine unique to the area, and many other features that make for a clean Room and a comfortable stay. The service was also excellent, and I had no stress at all. I’ll definitely consider staying here again the next time I visit Nara. Thank you!

This was my third stay, and once again I stayed for three nights. The Room and bath were comfortable, and above all, I always feel that the staff’s outstanding hospitality is truly wonderful. The international staff members also work so hard that it really comes through and makes me feel warmly welcomed.

It’s really close by and very convenient. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at a nearby izakaya in the evening.

The Room size, bed size, and comfort of the Onsen. The parking capacity as well. I loved everything, including how the staff treated us. This was my first time relaxing on a lovely sofa in the lounge and slowly enjoying the complimentary coffee while watching the flowing waterfall.

I stayed here while sightseeing in Nara. From check-in, the staff were welcoming and pleasant. Until 9:00, there were complimentary soft drinks and complimentary alcohol, and the loud announcement when breakfast was ready gave me energy in the morning. Even the housekeeping staff saw me off with kind words, and I was very satisfied. If I had to mention one thing, my Room was quite far from the elevator, which was a bit tough on my legs—but I would definitely stay again if I have the chance! I also appreciated the pillow service.
