Yokokawa Station (Gunma Prefecture) × Highly rated Hotel·Ryokan

Despite the reasonable price, it was a truly wonderful Hotel and we were extremely satisfied! The Room was spotlessly cleaned, and the bath and toilet were separate, so we could relax in the tub and ease our fatigue. The pet amenities were also exceptionally well provided. At night, we really enjoyed a delicious T-bone steak at the steakhouse on the same property. We also heard that the dog meals use the same meat. At breakfast, they even took a commemorative photo for us, which became a great memory. The staff were kind to our dog as well, and we had a very comfortable stay. We will definitely stay again without hesitation, and it’s a Hotel I’d love to recommend to friends!

This was the nicest and most comfortable, user-friendly Accommodation we’ve stayed at. Having a washing machine was a huge help since we were staying as a family of five.

This was my first stay here. I was extremely satisfied with everything. The breakfast buffet was especially delicious—I’d happily eat it every day. Also, the APPELLES amenities, such as the hand soap, had a wonderful fragrance and were very pleasant to use.

This was my first stay here. The location is excellent, and the staff, Room size and layout, amenities, and the fact that we could be with our dog everywhere except the indoor baths made our Multiple Night Stay extremely comfortable. What I especially loved was a sign in the Room with a cute illustration of a dog saying, “Sorry, housekeeping—I slipped out!” It made me feel at ease and truly able to relax in the Room. Everywhere else we’ve stayed with our dog always has a sign saying there will be an additional cleaning fee, so I was really touched by the warmth here. I would definitely like to stay again next time.

I discovered this plan when I was hesitant about sleeping on futons in a traditional Ryokan, despite enjoying the Onsen baths and meals. This plan allows you to stay at the conveniently located Otowa no Mori Hotel while savoring the charming Onsen and cuisine of Nakatana-so. It’s a concept I’d love to use again. I was very impressed with the functional yet stylish atmosphere and excellent service at Otowa no Mori Hotel. The shuttle service for arrival and the unique return trip by train added to the enjoyment, making it an exceptional collaboration. Considering its content, the cost-performance is also remarkable. I will definitely use this plan again for my next visit to Karuizawa!

A beautiful Hotel in every way—its exterior, its interiors, and of course the staff’s gracious presence as well. We enjoyed apple pie and royal milk tea at the café, cocktails at the bar, and finally dinner at the restaurant. And to top it off, an Onsen you can enjoy anytime. Karuizawa in the off-season is quiet and peaceful, and my heart, body, and stomach were all happily satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful stay supported by thoughtful attention to detail.

The room was spacious and bright, and the view from the window was wonderful. All the staff at the Hotel and restaurant were kind and courteous. The only drawback was the park shuttle service. Because some roads are narrow, only small buses can be used. With three Hotels in the area, it felt insufficient for guests traveling with large luggage.

A two-day trip to Karuizawa with the sole purpose of simply relaxing. The Room was spacious, and the surroundings were quiet, so we were able to unwind in peace. After a bit of sightseeing, we quickly returned to the Hotel, took a bath in the Room at 2:00 PM, and used the large public bath in the evening. On the second day, we used the large public bath from 3:00 PM. Both times no one else was there, so it felt like a private bath—such a luxury. There was also a free-flow sparkling wine service, and having it after bathing was amazing. While there, I had a chance to chat with one of your female staff members. That became my best memory from Karuizawa. I hoped I might see her at check-out, and I was so happy she was there. Sorry for talking for so long. Thank you very much for everything.

We have stayed here several times. It is located a little up in the mountains from Karuizawa Station, which makes it quiet and relaxing. Above all, the view from the Room and the view of Mt. Asama from the Onsen are outstanding! The staff are also wonderfully attentive, making this a Hotel we would love to visit again.

The Facility was overall clean and well-maintained, which was great. The lounge had a variety of books, offering a refreshing experience. Free drinks and snacks were available, allowing guests to relax by the authentic fireplace while enjoying refreshments—a truly relaxing time after a long while. Regarding the bath, the shower pressure felt slightly weak. As for the toilet, the automatic lid opening feature was convenient; however, it would open and close on its own when standing near the sink, which was slightly unsettling. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Thank you for hosting us for two nights. All the staff welcomed us warmly, and at check-in we enjoyed a welcome drink of amazake and soy milk. The Room was wonderful, the bath was spacious, and the sauna—adjustable to our preferred temperature—was very relaxing. We were able to spend a slow, luxurious time. The canelés prepared for us were also delicious. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. The menu changed each day, and both the hot and cold dishes were beautifully presented—we truly enjoyed them. We also received drink tickets, and at the lovely on-site sake bar they made us non-alcoholic options such as an amazake sorbet drink. We enjoyed hearing stories about sake as well as Karuizawa’s wildlife. Just one thing: until after 9:00 p.m. on the second day, and again from shortly after 6:00 a.m. on the third day for a while, we could continuously hear loud footsteps going back and forth (“thump thump thump…”). It echoed so much that we weren’t sure whether to mention it during our stay. The sound of spring water flowing close enough to reach from the first-floor terrace was lovely, but next time we stay I may ask about a second-floor Room type when making my Reservation. Also, it would be appreciated if hot water were available at the washbasin as well. It’s conveniently located near both the station and Old Karuizawa townscape, so if we stay in Karuizawa again, we would love to stay here next time too.

We were extremely satisfied with everything—the location, the Room, the meals, and the service. We stayed with four adults and a 0-year-old baby, and we were able to relax comfortably in a spacious setting. The Room was full of great taste, impeccably clean down to the smallest details, and felt wonderful. The food was also delicious and truly impressive. At the breakfast buffet, you can choose a main dish; we ordered pizza, and it was so good it didn’t feel like typical breakfast fare at all. The desserts were high quality as well—I can’t count how many times we said “So delicious!” over the two days (laugh). Every staff member greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service. They also offer rentals such as baby items, a hair iron, and a massage device, and even deliver them to your Room. The weather wasn’t great, but just staying at this Hotel made our trip completely satisfying—we’d love to stay again next time. Thank you very much.

I wasn’t feeling well and wasn’t sure what to do, but the staff responded flexibly and kindly, and in the end it turned into a very enjoyable trip. I was able to make wonderful memories with my daughter, who will be starting her first job in April. Thank you very much!

We stayed with 4 people and 1 dog. The Room was odor-free, and we barely heard any other dogs, making it very comfortable. It would be nice to have a few more amenities. There was a note about limitations on the bathwater, but it turned out to be fine. Thank you!

Due to snowy weather, we decided to take the train instead of driving and changed our Hotel at the last minute. Although it was a design Hotel and we didn’t have high expectations, the room was very spacious and clean. The Hotel staff were extremely kind, offering free taxi arrangements and diapers for our dog. Even after check-out, they made coffee for us while waiting for the taxi to arrive—such outstanding hospitality! The location is also very convenient, just a short walk from the Old Karuizawa shopping street. We would love to stay here again.

This was my first time staying here. To start with, at the entrance, I was a bit confused as there were Hotels on both sides of the road. Luckily, I chose the right one. The check-in counter is next to the shop, which has a great selection of items that are hard to resist. The Room was very clean and had adorable amenities that satisfied both me and my dog. Matching pajamas were also available for rent. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious, and my dog could join me in a complimentary cart provided by the Hotel. Since it was a birthday Plan, we even received a cake! I would love to stay here again!

A stunning private villa rental that will make everyone exclaim "Wow!" upon entering—everything was simply wonderful. The highlights included a large jacuzzi bath with plenty of scented Epsom salts, an electric yet authentic sauna, and a terrace connected to the bath where you could enjoy the sound of a flowing river and chirping birds. It was truly exceptional. The fireplace, which I had always dreamed of using, was easy to light on my own and left me thrilled. The beds were incredibly comfortable for a restful sleep until morning. The shadows of trees reflected on the plain electric roll-up blinds in the morning sunlight looked like a beautiful painting. We also enjoyed the autumn foliage from the first-floor terrace. The kitchen Facility was well-equipped with tools, and even a drum washing machine was provided. However, only one downside—the meals were seasoned quite heavily. It would have been nicer if they used local ingredients in lighter flavors. Conveniently located near Old Karuizawa as well! Just recalling it makes me want to visit again already!

All the staff provided excellent service, making our trip to Karuizawa a wonderful memory. The breakfast was delicious, and the room, a Japanese-Western style, was spacious and comfortable. We are very grateful for the prompt Shuttle Service to the station.

We stayed at Karuizawa Prince Hotel East, where we used to come skiing when our children were little, to also celebrate our daughter’s acceptance into university. The atmosphere was unchanged and full of nostalgia. The staff’s service, the Onsen, and the meals—everything was very satisfying. We made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.
